Mercury retrograde continues to December 15:
So much can change in the blink of an eye. The month ahead is dominated by both Mercury (connect dots planet) and Mars (action planet) on retrograde tours.
Mercury retrograde began on November 26 and continues to the full moon on December 15 in the sign of Sagittarius. Allow ample room for inner wisdom to inform you. Let practicality prevail over impulsivity.
Backtracks, side-tracks, and revisits are typical of Mercury retrograde. By now you know the score: Give it extra time, double check everything, stay flexible, proceed with added caution and patience, revise as necessary, prioritize safety, health, and healthy choices. (There’s plenty more, including Mars retrograde, to tell you about)
Additionally (and more importantly), Mercury retrograde in Sagittarius increases questioning and soul searching. Are potentials and expectations shaping up, or is it time to take aim elsewhere? Do you feel greater restlessness, along with a sense that greener pastures are calling? The hunt for better prospects, solutions, or more answers increases.
Take extra time to get yourself sorted out. A pause for reflection/more introspection is always a good play when a retrograde cycle is underway. Pay heed to intuition, gut reaction, and premonition. A first impression can provide all the information you need, but even so, it will take longer to gain sure footing. Use the next couple of weeks and the next couple of months to feel your way along. Experience is your best informant.
The midpoint peak of the cycle happens on December 5 when Mercury aligns with the sun (by inferior conjunction). The second half of the retrograde cycle shifts the momentum and launches the next phase of interplay and integration. Whether you feel it as subtle or see it working in an obvious way, something you see, hear, feel, or download sets a domino into play.
If you cannot find what you are looking for, if control or viable options are out of reach, take it as a sign. It is the universe/your soul advising you to slow down so that you may get into step with better opportunity. Allow time do its job, to iron it out and reveal the pathway forward. We are working under extended planetary timelines that will continue unfold through spring. When the aim is on target, the right things/the best things can and will happen.
December 1 – 8:
Energized by a new moon in “take-flight” Sagittarius (Nov 30), the first week of December sets a quick sprint, then shift gears backdrop. Venus/Uranus kick off the month on December 2 with something fresh, social, spontaneous, or unplanned. December 4,5 moves the dial forward in an informing, productive, or push through the turnstile way.
Mid November to the end of December completes a whole Mercury/Jupiter (opposition) cycle. At December’s start, we are already into the thick of it. Expect the full to the brim track to continue and to incorporate more coming and going, back and forth, and sidetracks or sidesteps along the way. Book-ending the month, watch December 4 and 26, (and the few days nearby) for an upswing. These dates are well set for moving on or along. The entire 6-week Mercury/Jupiter cycle sets a timely backdrop for travel, research, marketing, exploring options and avenues, and for putting feelers out.
Mercury in Sagittarius: Nov 2 to January 8:
Mercury retrograde began on November 26 and continues to December 15. The midpoint peak of the cycle happens on December 5. This is when Mercury retrograde meets with the sun. Whether subtle or obvious, this apex point shifts the retrograde cycle onto a next phase along the current action, implementation, or information track. Something you see, hear, feel or download (a premonition, insight, discovery, conversation, news) can set a domino into play.
December 6, 7 hosts a cluster of planetary influences. Saturn/Mercury (square) can move a circumstance through a turnstile, past an impasse, deadline, or finish-line. These few days could be productive regarding a labour dispute, a legal, business, or banking matter, a plan, talk, or selection process.
On the same day that Saturn/Mercury reach a surpassing threshold, Venus begins a four-week stint in Aquarius, and Mars in Leo begins a three-month retrograde cycle. At present, both Venus and Mars hold heightened karmic potency. (They have continued to stir up the karmic track for the past 18 months in a front and center way). Also on a sign advance, Asteroid Ceres (a resurrection archetype and seeding influence) begins a three-month tour of Aquarius.
Feeling overwhelmed or stretched beyond the reasonable, manageable, or doable? Mercury’s opposition to Jupiter piles it up high. The transit started in mid November and continues to build to December 4 (first phase). You could feel yourself or the situation to be way off course, that you are not speaking the same language, that you have taken it as far as you can go, that your interests are at complete opposite ends. December 4 – 6 could be the start of a turning point. Of course, there are a variety of ways for any one transit to play out. You could feel just the opposite, that doors are opening, things are falling into place quite nicely, and that same page or like-mindedness is easily found.
Mercury opposes Jupiter and squares Saturn on December 4 -6, and again on December 26, 27. Watch for a shift regarding economic trends and tides, the social climate, the conversation, and your daily get-go.
Venus into Aquarius, December 6; Ceres into Aquarius, Neptune ends retrograde, December 7:
Both Venus and Ceres take an exit out of Capricorn (archetype of the past) and into Aquarius (archetype of the future). In so doing, they hit an acceleration track. Joining forces with Pluto, the Great Transformer, Venus in Aquarius can (abruptly) revamp an evaluation process, a financial status, or a relationship involvement. Also, Venus/Pluto (December 7) can shift the motivation, need, and desire. The planetary pairing of Pluto, the agent of the soul, and Venus, the magnetizing principle, puts you deeper in touch with what is at the core and holds power over you. Most importantly, this planetary pairing launches a one-year self discovery, circuit-breaking cycle that will introduce you to new facets of yourself. When you look back a year or so from now, you will come to recognize last year, this year, and next as a major work in progress, as a time of significant and accelerated change.
Ceres in Aquarius is a revitalizing influence. It can reawaken parts of yourself that have been sitting untapped or dormant, or that you may have identified as extinguished and gone. When the Aquarius archetype powers up, it can infuse you with fresh juice or jolt you into an awakening. Both Venus and Ceres are temporary influences, but Pluto in Aquarius will set the revolutionizing trends for the next 20 years. This transit serves to accelerate bigger picture evolution. A great gift of the Aquarius archetype is the re-discovery and revitalization of skills and talents brought forward from past lives. (Pluto asks of you: why live an ordinary life when you can live an extraordinary one?) The transit will also call forth key people who have a prominent role to play in your life.
Coinciding with Venus and Ceres on the move, Neptune ends a 5-month retrograde cycle on December 7. This subtle shift can go mostly unnoticed but know that it also adds to the karmic potency of the circumstances on brew.
Mars in Leo stations retrograde December 6:
Only the best/your best will do when Mars in Leo is at play. This Mars transit sets creativity, leadership, and courage into action in a “can’t top this” way. Assisting Trump to a landslide victory, Mars in Leo launched on the day of the USA election.
Typically, Mars spends about six weeks on tour through a sign, but due to its retrograde cycle (December 6 to February 23) Mars extends its tour through two signs. It will start retrograde in Leo on December 6, and back track into Cancer from January 6 to February 23. Following the retrograde cycle, Mars continues in Cancer to April 17, then revisits Leo to June 17, 2025. Think back to September, October, what gained attention then? Expect this circumstance, incentive, or challenge to be a primary focus through May/June of 2025.
Mars fuels instincts, impulses, and desire. When Mars is in Leo, the activation prompt is that of “I desire, and I deserve.” It is a time to gift yourself more. When Mars tours Cancer, the focus is directed toward improving safety, security, and self preservation. When Mars travels retrograde through these two signs, it switches off auto-pilot and adds more kindling to the fire of desire, ambition, and involvement. The intention of a Mars retrograde cycle is to shift the way you approach and participate, so that you bring more of your whole self to the table, so that you show up for yourself in a more self consistent, self-honoring way. The intention aims to help you to realign with more awareness, effectiveness, and better targeted intention setting.
What incentive has kept you going strong these past couple of months? Since September, the stars have been stage-setting. From December 6 to February 23, Mars retrograde takes you through the next phase. Don’t race out the door before you do a good check-in with yourself. Carve out quality time to listen to your heart, to observe yourself in action, and to recenter as you feel called to do. Mars retrograde in Leo can assist you to get a better fix on your best bets, on what could potentially add up to greater fulfillment, happiness, success, and reward. As stated above, the start of Mars retrograde is accompanied by Mercury retrograde in Sagittarius (to December 15), a questioning and soul-searching cycle. Both are befitting for a step back from the hustle and bustle. Play/enjoy a little more, worry a little less. Prioritize your personal well being, your personal life and gift your loved ones with the best side of you.
Phase 2 also encompasses Mars on backtrack of Cancer (January 6 to February 23). This “finger on the pulse” time is well used to feel your way along to greater security, to research, qualify, to clear away lingering doubt or uncertainty, and to get ready for the spring-forward phase. In addition to matters of safety, security, and self preservation, Mars in Cancer also spotlights home, family, real estate, and a revisit of the past. Mars will continue in Cancer to April 17. (Mars in Cancer also spotlights matters to do with domestic and national safety, security, and defence.)
Mars in Leo (April 17 to June 17) is well positioned as the follow up to Mars in Cancer. First, comes the wrestling with inner and outer insecurities and needs. Then comes the awareness, creativity, and bravado that is needed to align with more fruitful endeavour and to call forth more lucrative potential.
December 15, Full Moon in Gemini, Mercury ends retrograde:
Thanks to the transits of Mercury in Sagittarius, Jupiter in Gemini, and the full moon on December 15, the Gemini and Sagittarius polarity sets the signature backdrop of the entire month. How do you stand in two worlds at once – yours and other(s): your inner and outer realms? How do you bring both worlds together (the realms of the rational mind and the intuition of visionary heart)? Both are explorer archetypes.
Coinciding with the end of Mercury retrograde, watch for the full moon in Gemini (December 15) to be mobilizing in some unforeseen way. It could produce a second wave, another go around, another influx. Of course, it puts everything to do with the holidays into full swing. In addition to the added volume everywhere, watch for an increase of announcements or news. Financial markets and trends stay active too. Although the plan or need may be to cut back, it is easy to spend more, do more, or get pulled into more. Keep an eye on December 19. Venus/Jupiter (trine) marks this day as the most lucrative, pleasing, rewarding, or heartwarming of the week (perhaps of the entire month).
Solstice, Sun enters Capricorn, December 21, 2024:
The sun’s entrance into Capricorn, the solstice, marks the longest night of the year for those in the northern hemisphere and the longest day for those in the southern hemisphere. The solstice points mark a shift regarding the natural rhythms of our creative process and consciousness. They are considered as potent activation portals for the shedding of the past, for awakening, renewal, and personal growth. The Capricorn solstice prompts introspection into the nature of your inner and outer reality. It marks a threshold crossing time between past and present.
The sun’s entrance into Capricorn is accompanied by the moon in transit through Virgo. The backdrop is well set for a pause for reflection. What remains unfinished? What needs more work, attention, or healing? What can be eliminated, what is it that you can do without? The Capricorn solstice adds fresh creative input to the ongoing Saturn/Jupiter transit (beliefs that build reality’s framework; social/political/economic cycle). This planetary pairing holds court over the shaping of reality for a ten-month period (August 2024 to June 2025). As of December 24, we will enter phase two. This is when Saturn and Jupiter form the second of 3 (square) alignments (dates: August 19, December 24, 2024; June 15, 2025).
Pre & post Christmas and Hanukkah:
December 24 to 26 is ideal for putting the outside world on pause. There is no place better for you to be than right where you are. Minimize on the unnecessary, do not buy into the hype or the pressure. Instead, prioritize quality time with loved ones and/or on your own.
Hanukkah will extend to the start of the new year, but Christmas can come and go quick. One and done, for many of us, Christmas can feel like a thing of the past the very next day. In general, we will not be in the mood to linger long over this one.
For both Christmas and New Year’s Eve celebrations, the stars are less dynamic/notable than in comparison to other years.
New moon in Capricorn, December 30, and end of month wrap up:
The first week and last week of December are bookended by similar run of stars (Mercury/Jupiter, Mercury/Saturn, Venus/Uranus). Overall, they are apt for the shift of attention that comes with this time of year. In general, start to finish the month of December can be viewed as a temporary interlude or sidetrack before getting back to the task at hand (the to-do list). December 30 delivers a new moon in Capricorn. The new moon puts the focus on better self discipline, control, and organization.
Right out the 2025 starting gate, Mars retrograde in opposition to transiting Pluto (second of 3 oppositions Jan 2, 3) will be pushing the agenda forward.
Wishing you a peaceful holiday! Blessings, Rose

ARIES March 19/20 – April 19
Where are you heading? What is your next play? Mercury retrograde can keep you searching for answers and best avenues. Mars retrograde (Dec 6 to Feb 23) takes you through a creative process that is meant to help you increase your success ratio, this in terms of picking the “winning stocks” (at all levels).
This transit is well used to get back in touch with your heart’s desires, and to refortify from within. State your intention boldly, i.e. “I desire and I deserve” – and the universe will respond to you in kind. Of course, it will take more time before you can unwrap the gift. For now, stay productive and aim to get yourself better up to speed. Use the month ahead (and the next several) to feel your way along and to get ready to meet opportunity head-on in the spring.

TAURUS April 19 – May 20
What do you have going for you? What is working against you? Both Mercury (to December 15) and Mars in retrograde (to February 23) amplify the inner chatter that is running in the background regarding your material well being and emotional status. While both planets are in retrograde, you are likely to hear more urgency in that voice. While security and stability is a great aim, selling yourself short will not suffice.
It may be time to let a relationship or ambition fall by the wayside. If you are honest with yourself, you may already have a sense of who and what has the potential to bear good fruit, and what is simply a drain. If you do not feel secure enough to step over the choice-making threshold just yet, that is okay. Both the short term (the next few weeks) and the mid range term (next several months/to spring) will clarify more. This evolution will occur through a naturally unfolding experiential thread, through the conversations, crossroads, and thresholds you are destined to meet and to cross. If you feel yourself to be at a standstill now, you will not be for long. To be sure, 2025 and 2026 will see you move forward in ways you cannot predict or imagine just yet. Until life reveals its hand, make use of every day. Keep yourself informed and up to speed.

GEMINI May 20 – June 20
As is typical for this time of year and Mercury retrograde, expect to reconnect, to revisit places and faces. Watch for memories, of times recent and times long forgotten, to surface with more frequency than is usual. People can appear or the phone can suddenly ring at the same time you start thinking about them. These occurrences are typical of Mercury retrograde.
Mercury retrograde can also see someone take an exit out of your life. There can be assorted reasons for this of course. On another note, you may come to recognize how you have outgrown certain situations or relationships. Goals or projects that once held appeal may have lost some (or all) of their lustre.
Mercury retrograde together with Mars retrograde serves to help you get clearer on your best options and interests. Even so, clarity regarding your next game plan is a process that will unfold over time. Take the next few months to figure it out. You will gain more security, confidence, and sure footedness after Mars completes retrograde. The first few months of 2025 will stoke the momentum. April/May is sprint-forward time.

CANCER June 20 – July 22
Getting it solved, fixed, or healed can take extra attention, effort, and time while Mercury travels in retrograde motion (to December 15). Do not discount the small advances and wins. Follow this formula: try it out, eliminate, adjust, rinse, and repeat. Step by step, or day at a time gets you there. It is wise to step back or to take a pause to assess and review from time to time.
Mars retrograde starts in Leo (December 6) but will revisit Cancer from January 6 to April 17. (Mars retrograde ends on February 23, 2025.) Mars retrograde will be of significance for you if are born July 9 though 22/23 (or have natal planets that are triggered by this transit). Mars retrograde takes you on a review that is meant to replenish what has been depleted or lost along the way. As a stoking, or heating up cycle, look to Mars retrograde to supply fresh fuel for a new or next enterprise. Use the next few months to build up to it. Get ready to hit full throttle in the second quarter of 2025.

LEO July 22 – August 22
Where does your heart sit? Both Mercury retrograde and Mars retrograde can spark this soul-searching quest. As is typical of both the holidays and Mercury retrograde, watch for childhood memories to surface. Perhaps it has been a long stretch since you thought about something or someone, or perhaps since you had an opportunity to visit or have a conversation. Retrograde cycles set an opportune backdrop for revisits and reconnection.
Mercury retrograde (to December 15) is well used to rethink or revise. Mars retrograde (December 6 to January 6 serves to rekindle or refuel.
Both on their own individual tracks, Mercury (through December) and Mars (through the start of January can keep you stretched or feeling a push pull. Take your time to observe and to feel your way along. Check impulsivity or reactive emotions. When choices are difficult or confusing, allow time to sort it out. When you cannot afford to give it extra time, choose the bird in hand rather than bank on tomorrow’s guesswork or expectation. Between now and then, so much can change.

VIRGO August 22 – September 22
Mercury retrograde keeps the attention centered on home/home base and family. You may have more time to put in, more work or healing to do before you feel yourself to be over the hump, and/or ready to act. Temporarily, the holidays can hold up other plans, but you may come to view the sidetrack as welcome or well-timed diversion. Both Mercury (to Dec 15) and Mars (to Feb 23) on retrograde tours can add a time extension to circumstances in play, or to problem solving.
Due to its retrograde cycle, the Mars transit will not reach your sign until mid June of 2025. Consider now until then as a stage setting, foundation laying, or preparatory time. This time-frame puts potential on brew, but Mars will not give you the full view or full go ahead until spring. Keep working on it until then.

LIBRA September 22 - October 22
It is best not to make assumptions or jump to conclusions while Mercury retrograde is in effect (until December 15). Rather than race ahead or push for answers, allow for things to go at their natural speed, to move along their natural course. Give it time. Give them the benefit of the doubt. Things could shape up even better than you may expect.
If the challenge is too big a stretch, you might have to leave it at that. On the other hand, it could seem out of reach one minute and come to fruition in the next. Mercury retrograde can work in unpredictable ways. On another note, as is typical for both the holidays and Mercury retrograde, expect to interface with folks you have not had contact with for awhile.
Both Mercury (to December 15) and Mars retrograde (December 6 to February 23) call for review and revisions to thinking, conversations, expectations, goals, and plans, this regarding lifestyle, career, and social choices. The full Mars cycle will take you through a five-month experiential track that will help you to get clearer on the best way forward. As you move through these next months, explore all options. Keep open-ended and on research mode, keep checking in with yourself. Trust your intuition and your heart.

SCORPIO October 22 - November 21
To December 15, Mercury retrograde urges you to curb your spending or output, and to take stock instead. Is what you have to say or to offer reaching the right audience/hitting the right target, or do you need to play it/say it another way? Your intuition can speak louder or speak volumes. As you dig deeper, you are likely to find more at the root than you previously knew or assessed.
Mercury retrograde can get you much better clued in to your own motivations, or to that of others. The journey of self discovery helps you to uncover buried wealth regarding your emotional journey, creative assets, and regarding financial prospects too.
Are you getting the respect or reward you feel you deserve out of your career or personal life involvements? Mars retrograde in Leo (December 5 to January 6) puts added focus on getting it under better control. Do you need to refortify your position or status, to secure further, or to rebuild? Can you repeat or top a success? Mars will continue to stoke ambition and potentials through mid June. Use the retrograde cycle (December 6 to February 23) to do your research and legwork, to bulk up the foundation. Use the post retrograde period (February 23 to June 18) to get the project or ambition up and running.

SAGITTARIUS November 21 – December 21
Mercury travels retrograde in your sign. The transit is well used to pull back and regroup. There is no place better to be than with yourself. Put priority attention toward your health and emotional well-being.
The retrograde cycle ends on the full moon December 15, but Mercury will extend its tour of Sagittarius to January 8. The last portion of the transit should find you on the upswing and ready to re-engage.
Starting December 6, Mars retrograde prompts a shift of perspective and momentum. Intuition can give you a different read on it too. On the general note, Mars retrograde is well timed for travel, away time, and all that goes along with the holiday interlude. On the deeper level, the start of the retrograde tour takes you as far as you/it can go for now. This threshold crossing determines the bulk of what can be gained, procured, doable, or is forthcoming at this moment. This is not to say that you cannot take it or gain further, but rather that it is time to shift gears, to draw from and work with what has already been procured. Let what is already in the works/in process to do its thing. There is a natural time to everything.

CAPRICORN December 21 - January 20
Mercury retrograde is chiefly a background influence for your sign. Even so, at times you will feel the effects. For example, you could be more forgetful or absentminded. Keep close track as you could easily misplace items and waste time hunting for them.
Too, you can find yourself more nostalgic or more emotionally demonstrative than is your norm. The transit can increase susceptibility to pick up whatever is going around, so put added attention to protecting your immune system. After all, it is cold and flu season in the northern hemisphere. Mercury retrograde is always a time to put more attention toward safety and security.
Mars begins retrograde on December 6 in the sign of Leo. Of course, given the state of the world, financial well-being is at the top of everyone’s list. Mars retrograde calls for a review of your investments. Are you getting enough out of your paycheck, out of your financial strategy? Is there a way to enhance or improve upon a good thing? Where is the future is headed? It is a big question for all of us. Use Mars retrograde (to January 6 in Leo, to February 23 in Cancer) to feel your way along the experiential track. How do you feel right now? Has something shifted? What signals are coming from your intuition, from observing yourself or the world around you in motion? What can you do to make your private life and your career more well rounded, successful, and satisfying? Your questions will take time to sort out. Retrograde influences (one or another) continue through mid April. Mars continues to set up a work in progress through May/June. Time is a resource, aim to put it to effective use. Keep checking in with yourself and trust your inner wisdom to guide you.

AQUARIUS January 20 – February 18/19
If you are born at the start of Aquarius (January 19, 20 specifically), you will feel Pluto’s reinvent-the-wheel influence at full strength. If you are born a bit later in January, Pluto, the great transformer, will take a bit longer to build up to full strength. (If you are born in February, the transit will dial your number down the road.)
While Pluto in Aquarius has just hit a fresh wind, Mercury and Mars now take backtrack tours. Beyond the typical sidetracks or diversions that Mercury retrograde is known for, Mercury retrograde in Sagittarius (to December 15) can find you questioning the direction forward. Do you still feel confidence in goals, plans, and prospects? Do you still believe what you have been told? The transit can dial up trust issues with a friend or colleague. Whether they move away, or undertake a transition, a key relationship could move onto a departure track. The goodbye could be temporary or permanent. To the plus, Mercury’s tour through Sagittarius is well timed for travel and for the holidays (be they observed in the traditional way or whether you choose to make it different this year.)
Mars, retrograde in Leo, (starting December 6), takes you through an important personal regroup chapter. The transit draws attention to how you show up in relationship, how you perform when you interface with others, and how you navigate through your day-to-day. Mars retrograde serves to sharpen the observer in you. Along the way, you will gain greater insight into the feedback you get from others, and more importantly, to your own inner workings. While this transit is in effect, the mirror turns inward so that you can better hear the feedback coming from your heart and soul, so you can see your own reflection first.
Depending on how your own natal chart and karmic timeline is triggered, the Mars transit could see a special someone enter or exit your life (the whole cycle extends to the middle of June). Mars retrograde can put the spotlight on a key relationship. It could be a journey of heart (intimate or personal), a social, career, or business matter, or the relationship could be one of support given or received, (a key helper, healer, mentor, or advisor). For the next couple of months, Mars retrograde acts as a stoking influence. What begins to gather momentum (increase in scope or launches onto a fire-it-up track) is slated for exponential growth and/or going the distance. Although there is sure to be twists and turns, perhaps even an abrupt ending along the way, under this Mars cycle, the long range and long lived can set into play.

PISCES February 18/19 to March 19/20
Less (struggle or headache) adds up to more in terms of gain. Aim quality time and maximum benefit or reward. Mercury retrograde (to December 15) is well used to pull back from the work and overload as best you can. Even so, you could find yourself on the hook for more than you would prefer or choose to take on. Aim to cut yourself loose as best you can. Your freedom is worth whatever price or sacrifice is required.
While Mercury is retrograde, don’t take on extra responsibility if you don’t have to. On another note, it is best not to finalize decisions or sign a contract during the retrograde period.
Despite the holidays, try to minimize on social output too. Quality time to catch up with yourself is more important. A great battery recharge is worth its weight in gold. On another note, Mercury retrograde could see you say a goodbye or create a wider divide from where you have been and are headed. A previously cherished goal or ambition may fall by the wayside. Restlessness for a career or lifestyle change can grow. To be sure, significant change is on the way, especially over this next 18 months to 2 years, but don’t get too far ahead of yourself now. Pay attention to feelings and premonitions. They are clues to potentials on brew.
Mars begins retrograde in Leo on December 6. Under this cycle, it is not a time to forge ahead, or force the envelope, but to pull back instead. Allow more time for things to gel and to gather more shape and form. Mars retrograde is well used for a personal regroup. Prioritize self care and health.
Mars continues in retrograde motion to the end of February, but as of the start of January, you will start to feel refreshed. It will be a time to get started again, to resume what may have been set on the backburner over the holidays.
