Canada’s Federal Election is set for April 28, 2025. See below for Mark Carney and Pierre Poilievre’s natal charts (inner wheels) with the election chart (outer wheel; set for the closing time in Ottawa.) Both natal charts are set to a natural chart as at the time of writing, there was no birth-time for either. (We now have a birth time for Mark Carney, 7:56 am MST, the chart is posted below).
The polls indicate a neck and neck race, and the transits pretty much say the same. I am not making any predications, but simply pointing out transit details of significance.
Of note to Poilievre’s chart:
Transiting Mars forms a tight conjunction to his natal Jupiter. On its own, that transit could be indicative of a success. Note also that Poilievre’s Jupiter is tightly conjunct Canada’s Mercury (by one degree), which is indicative of the success he has already met in his leadership role along his career path. Even so, rather than indicate a slam dunk to an election win, the transit of Pluto in Aquarius in opposition to Poilievre’s Jupiter makes this this transit trigger more of a wildcard/nail biter influence. It could play out either way.)
Also of note: the transiting sun trines Poilievre’s Saturn. The transiting Moon/Uranus conjunction is in conjunction to his Venus and in trine to his natal moon. The transit of Jupiter is conjunct Poilievre’s Mercury. This Jupiter/Mercury conjunction suggests that no matter what the final result it, that he is sure to get a lot of votes.
Re Mark Carney’s Chart:
The transiting north node is conjunct Carney’s sun (a fate aspect, potentially fruitful and successful), along with Venus/Saturn also forming a (new phase) conjunction to that sun. Transiting Mercury, ruler of the south node (also a karmic trigger) forms a conjunction to Carney’s natal Mercury in Aries (almost exact). The transiting moon/Uranus conjunction is conjunct Carney’s natal Jupiter (also in new phase). The transiting sun forms a trine to Carney’s Virgo planets (Uranus, Pluto, Mars, and moon.)
The election takes place 2 days after the exact Mars/Pluto opposition of April 26. It is last of the triple pass alignment. The first Mars/Pluto opposition happened just 2 days prior to the USA election, but in different signs (Cancer/Capricorn). The current Mars/Pluto opposition takes places across the Leo/Aquarius axis. Mars in Leo is disposited by the sun in Taurus. Pluto in Aquarius is disposited by Uranus in Taurus. The transiting moon in Taurus forms a new phase conjunction to Uranus by the time the polls close on election day. Does the strong concentration in Taurus suggest the result is a matter of staying the course with the same party in leadership, but with a change (moon/Uranus new phase; sun/moon are also in new moon phase)? Neptune (mass consciousness/collective attunement) is just at the start of its tour of Aries. No doubt, the populace holds high expectations for whomever they elect.
The transit of Pluto in Aquarius will continue to oppose Canada’s Mercury in Leo (4th house). This transit indicates an awakening and revitalization of sorts. Certainly Canada is undergoing a transformation regarding its national identity, resources, sovereignty, relationship to the world at large and its relationship to a key trading partner (the neighbour to the south is described by Mercury in Leo).
