Doomed from the start, the early call election was scheduled for October 24, the day Mercury began a retrograde tour in Scorpio. (The start of a Mercury retrograde tour is never a good time to initiate action!) Stating that he wanted a stronger mandate for his party, the premier (David Eby) chose to place a gamble on the fact that the opposition party was in chaotic disarray, with a new interim leader only recently named. Although he tried to defend his reasoning, many voters were angry with Eby for wasting money on calling the election in the first place, as he had two more years before it was necessary. It was also poor timing to call the election just one week after municipal elections (some candidates had conflicts with the doubling up.) The transiting moon in Aries on election day reflects the public sentiment of anger (not only for calling the election, but for several reasons.)
*Note: Birth time for Eby unknown. (If born later than 9:45 pm would have a Gemini moon.)
Notable transits:
Transit to transit:
Venus retrograde/Sun inferior conjunction at 3/4 phase square to transiting Pluto (outer wheel).
Transit to natal:
Transit of Venus retrograde/Sun inferior conjunction (outer wheel) conjunct natal Uranus in Scorpio.
Transit of Saturn, Pallas Athene, and Moon in Aries (outer wheel) opposite natal Pluto in Libra (inner wheel).
As noted with the chart above, the election also coincided with Venus retrograde and the sun at inferior conjunction, the midpoint of the Venus retrograde cycle. Note the contact of this conjunction on Eby’s natal Uranus in Scorpio (a risk that did not pay off, that has been destructive to Eby’s career. Upon concede defeat, he stepped down from office. Be reminded that Venus retrograde often puts fate and destiny into play in an undeniable and accelerated way.
*Note: Doerkson’s birth time is unknown. (If born after 7:40 am, would be have Scorpio moon)
Notable Transits:
Transit to Transit:
Venus retrograde/sun conjunction last quarter square to Pluto transit (& Juno, the contract asteroid, position is 0:13 Aquarius on election day).
Mercury retrograde in square to transits of Mars & Jupiter in Leo.
Transit to Natal Chart:
Saturn conjunct natal North Node.
Transiting lunar nodes square natal Neptune (Neptune is a signature for collective service.)
Doerkson is the interim leader and has yet to prove himself. Apparently, the transition of power takes place in approximately 3 weeks. At that time, both Venus and Mercury will end their individual retrograde tours (November 13) and Mars in Leo will hit a huge upswing, this by forming new phase conjunctions with the karmic axis south node in Leo and Jupiter in Leo. It is interesting to note that Doerkson has been saying he wants to “super charge” – which is an apt description for that mid November Mars/Jupiter conjunction.
**The bigger picture significance of Venus retrograde/Sun conjunction:
This Venus/sun conjunction is of special significance regarding a bigger picture cycle. It marks the last Venus star point in Scorpio, bringing to an end a 100-year cycle under the Scorpio lens, (an examination of the psychology, exploration and evolution of motivational forces at the root of power dynamics at all levels). The historic landslide victory for the opposition has returned the Conservation party to power for the first time in 100 years! (Venus orbits in a regular pattern that forms the 5-pointed pentagram.
