December opens with Mercury just out of retrograde (as of Nov 29). Now that the planet of communication, connectivity (transport of ideas, people, goods), and commerce is on the advance, you should find yourself making good stride too.
Mercury in Scorpio is a keen eye, clever thinking transit. It can help you to navigate through tricky waters. Trust what you feel. This Mercury transit assists you to be a shrewd thinker, observer, planner, shopper, negotiator, or researcher.
While a Mercury transit can be fleeting, from December 1 to 11, Mercury forms a grand trine with Jupiter, Saturn, and Neptune (across the water element triad). Staying activated over an eleven-day period, you’ll have an extended window of opportunity to draw from this creative ease and flow backdrop. Overall – and despite a super full moon in the mix -look to this grand trine (an optimizing configuration) to keep plans and interactions humming along. Where-ever you are, you are likely to find yourself completely immersed. When all is in good flow, that’s life as it should be. Use the “Read More Button” below for the rest of December’s forecast..
On another note, the water grand trine provides access to whatever is on brew in the deeper levels of your subconscious emotions. You can find you are particularly sensitized, tuned in, or triggered by the moment. As best you can, take a moment to pause for introspection, and for silent observance. Take whatever time you need to feel your way along this complex emotional track, to find inner security.
Lastly, this water grand trine backdrop can set an opportunity for over-exposure, heightened vulnerability and susceptibility, and a weakening of the immune system. Please take extra precautions with your health and wealth. It is the start of flu season for those living in cold weather climates. Pump up on vitamin C, etc. Also, there are plenty of scammers and thieves on the loose too. Stay vigilant, don’t take unnecessary risks.
December 4, Super Full Moon in Gemini:
December 4 delivers the third of four super full moons in a row (October through January 2026). It is almost as close to the earth as the November super full moon was. If the sky is clear where you live, make sure to look for it. You’ll see a beautiful sight.
This super full moon in Gemini could be pivotal for the world on its spin (i.e. trade talks, market and social trends, retail sales, travel, mail and shipping services) and also for personal life matters. Watch for an announcement, news, a visit of note, or an early jump start. The super full moon in Gemini spotlights friends, neighbours, youths, students, siblings, and extended family members. Beyond setting the holiday shopping, errands, and extras into full swing, watch for a fresh inspiration, conversation or option. Something you hear, read, see, or witness could spark a new line of thinking or action.
Have you been grappling with a choice or a challenge? The super full moon and the days that follow could prompt a shift of course or momentum, a decisive talk or choice, change of mind and/or heart. In dynamic tension to the nodal axis, watch for the super full moon to time or trigger a turning point threshold of karmic significance. It could break a silence or impasse, clear up uncertainty or confusion, and accelerate a next track. Look for potentials to reveal and/or prove themselves. What is not meant to go the distance will lose traction. Too, watch for an opportunity to correct, heal, modify, simplify, or improve. December 8 to 11 sets a mobilization backdrop. Look to these dates to provide a better sense of direction and help you to get a better grip on where you stand or where it is at.
December 10, Neptune ends retrograde:
Neptune ends its annual five-month retrograde tour on December 10. The influence is subtle in nature and in potency. Neptune retrograde acts as a search light mission over a select part of the ocean. Once the retrograde ends, we can still feel lost in a myriad of possibilities, uncertainties, thoughts, fears, and doubts. What is known/gained, is that the search light hasn’t found the target yet. Appreciate it or not, that in itself is useful information to take in. In any given moment, Neptune, a bigger picture transit, encompasses more than we are consciously aware of. On December 10, Neptune will have reached the two-thirds threshold of its larger format process. There will be more to experience, unravel and unfold through the “post shadow” period (until Neptune regains the distance it has already travelled – this extends until Neptune leaves Pisces at the end of January 2026). The process involves the exploration of many potentials and variables – most of which will lose traction/disintegrate for one reason or another. That which holds value and merit will eventually emerge into the light of day. It is a process that cannot be forced or hurried along. Aim to synchronize with it and trust it instead. (Of course, do your homework, play your part to the best of your ability, and then allow for divine order to steer the wheel/take you the rest of the way.)
Neptune continues in Pisces to January 26, 2026. This date marks the ending of Neptune’s 14-year cycle through its home sign and the start of Neptune’s 14-year tour of Aries. The sign change shifts the collective tuning fork in a major way. It is no less than the ending of a 36-year world era and the start of the next. I will cover this and the other planetary sign changes in greater detail in my annual forecast for 2026.
December 11, Mercury enters Sagittarius:
Mercury began retrograde in Sagittarius on November 9 and ended retrograde in Scorpio on November 29. To December 11, Mercury in Scorpio, a sharp-eye influence, keeps the detective in you on research, dig deeper, and bargain-hunting mode. Obsession can keep you going too.
December 11 to January 1, Mercury tours Sagittarius. More places to go, more things to do, and more talking to do, this Mercury transit keeps everything on the upswing and increase – including the attention directed toward prospects for the future. Mercury in Sagittarius is a full swing, take flight, step ahead, look ahead influence. This transit can enhance your intuition – trust what you feel.
Whether your roster is filled to the brim or whether you are one of the many who will spend it quietly and/or alone, Mercury in Sagittarius is a befitting transit for making the most of the holidays. It is also a befitting transit for giving the spiritual side of life more of your time and heart. (Take one step toward the divine, and the divine will take 1000 steps toward you.)
December 14, Mars enters Capricorn:
From December 14 to January 23, Mars tours Capricorn, (the sign of its exaltation, an optimal pairing of planet and sign). Mars in Capricorn sets a good backdrop for intention and ambition directed toward a more efficient use of your time, effort, and money. What do you need to do to get yourself better organized? For the next six weeks, this Mars transit will assist effort applied toward the gaining of better control as is desired or required.
Mars in Capricorn also puts attention on the traditions of the season, on remembering the past, and on ancestral inheritances. Hanukkah begins the day after Mars enters Capricorn and ends the day after the solstice. Slow down, savour the moment. Turn priority attention toward quality over quantity in every facet of your day, as best you can create it for yourself and also when sharing your time with others.
December 19: New Moon in Sagittarius: Nearing the very end degree of the sign, the new moon in Sagittarius is just two days away from the solstice. By this new moon, the luminaries (sun on December 16, and moon, only hours before) will have surpassed a time-shift checkpoint with Saturn in Pisces. It is a collective memo that we all will feel. It is time to shift gears; to let the concerns of the world/your daily grind take backseat for awhile.
The holidays can be a stressful duty call or a particularly lonely time of year for so many. As best you can, take a little more time to savour the gifts of the moment, great and small; to give thanks for the miracle of another day – for the opportunity to hope, to heal, to aspire higher, to show up for yourself, to shine again.
December 21, Solstice: Sun enters Capricorn:
For those living in the northern hemisphere, December 21 marks the shortest day of the year. It is a time to reflect upon the passing year and to set intention for the new cycle that will progressively overtake the dark, to emerge into the full light of day/of consciousness. In your deepest and quietest of moments, may you feel your heartbeat in unison with your soul’s quest. For those living in the southern hemisphere, may you feel blessed by the light of day.
December 24, Venus enters Capricorn:
Venus enters Capricorn first thing on December 24 (to January 17). Despite whatever last minute shopping or work remains, once Venus enters Capricorn, it is time to slow down and to savour the moment. Venus, Mars, and the sun in Capricorn carve out a window of time between December 24 and January 6, 7 for doing exactly that. Beyond the holidays, it is a time for introspection, for taking stock of the year that has just past and where you feel yourself to be right now. A new reality awaits us all. The year ahead holds plenty of uncertainty as of yet, but for now, aim to extract from the moment’s best, and give the moment your best too. No matter how little you may feel you have to work with or how uncertain life seems right now, there is always something you can do for yourself. Aim to make full use of every day. The better you can manage for yourself today, the better on track you will be to meet 2026 and your future.
The holidays can feel like a thing of the past as early as December 29/30. The moon tours Gemini for New Year’s Eve. No matter what you have planned (or whether you don’t have plans) relaxed is the best way to observe the end the year. The transiting moon in Gemini is also good to journal and/or write out your intentions for the year ahead. (If you really want to optimize on the stars, think it through on December 31 and sign the contract with yourself on January 1 or in the week or so that follows.)
2026 is one that will write a next chapter of world history. This global reset year marks the end of a 36-year world era (social/political) and the start of a next 36-year manifesting cycle. This year (2025) produced a preview and test pilot year for the major planetary transitions that are about to set into play. In 2026, all outer planets will start their long-term residencies in new signs. 2026 (Chinese Year of the Fire Horse) is the ground zero year not only for a global reset, but also for a personal life fast track.
Happy Hanukkah, Merry Christmas!
I wish you a peaceful and rest holiday. Blessings, Rose
