In the myth, we find Ceres forced to come to terms with Hades/Pluto and powerful enough to negotiate with the ruler of the Olympians, Zeus/Jupiter.
In this webinar Rose will discuss how our personal Ceres myth reflects a formidable creative force deep within our soul. Our Ceres natal chart signature, by sign, house, and aspects, describes an ongoing feature evolutionary theme and carry-over from our past lives. We can feel it in our soul as permeating sorrow, grief, and loss. We can feel it as a soul necessity or soul destiny. We feel it as an ultimate search for fulfillment, a call to re-empowerment, or as critical and key to the reclaiming of self. We can wrestle within our own soul, or we can face the fight of our life. Whether a driving force or a more subtle undercurrent influence, our Ceres journey is one that offers especially rich soil for our current planting, watering, and harvesting season. To integrate through Ceres means to move from loss to treasure-trove, to advance the process of healing, reconciliation, and revitalization for that which we regard as of utmost value.

September Monthly Overview:
Venus ends retrograde:
Venus retrograde ends a six week review and reassessment cycle on Sept 6. It certainly has been a tough one for Canadian Prime Minster Stephen Harper, Mike Duffy, Nigel Wright, and others. (If you don’t live in Canada – there’s a major trial going on here regarding an alleged political cover-up.)
Perhaps you have spent the past six weeks trying to figure out where you stand with another, with your social world, or with yourself. Relationships are the key feature of Venus retrograde.
Oil prices, the stock-market volatility, etc – money matters are the other key feature of Venus retrograde. While Harper’s Conservative party has had ample money to throw at campaigning for the October 19 federal election, the contenders have had to watch their budgets.
As of the end of August through the start of November, Venus and Mars are engaged in a karmic staging cycle. It is an especially potent time of seeding and harvesting for what comes next. This cycle encompasses the most critical period of campaigning for the Canadian Federal Election on October 19.
It cannot be under-stated, now through November marks a destiny-in-the-making time for all.
Mercury in Libra, retrograde Sept 17 to Oct 9:
As soon as it entered Libra on August 27, Mercury began set-up mode for the upcoming retrograde cycle which happens from Sept 17 to Oct 9. While the first half of Sept is a move-along time, we aren’t yet into clear sailing regarding relationships or finances.
Mercury in Libra and retrograde can be a tough balancing act, but practice the art of listening with head and with heart, and rather than react, take time to feel your way along before you respond. Time is really the wisdom keeper. Seek its counsel – especially if/when the going gets rough.
On September 17, the same day that Mercury begins retrograde, Juno, the contract asteroid, enters the sign of Libra, which is also a contract archetype. Also on this day, Saturn completes its three month last pass of Scorpio before it enters Sagittarius. Saturn will spend the next two-plus years seeking higher truths, greater knowledge, and cementing the future course.
Partial Solar Eclipse in Virgo Sept 12/13; Total Lunar Eclipse, Super Full Moon Sept 27:
Two eclipses launch our back to it season and they are already making their mark. Remember that eclipses are activated prior to and after the actual event, so it’s always wise to stay informed and on the look out. The extreme market tumble of Aug 24 has been triggered not only by the Aug 29 super moon in Pisces, but also by the Virgo solar eclipse on Sept 12/13 which is accompanied by Jupiter in Virgo in opposition to Neptune in Pisces. It is a planetary alignment that can stir mass anxiety, insecurity, etc., and that can be correlated to corrections. (Neptune and Pisces correlated to oil; Jupiter in Virgo can be attributed to the expectations that have fallen short, i.e. China not rebounding as anticipated.)
A solar eclipse brings about more notable endings and beginnings, births and deaths, etc. Work, health, service, education, correction, repairs, number-crunching, fact-finding, and such fall under Virgo’s rulership. Mercury in Libra square Pluto suggests it’s time to evaluate from a fresh perspective, to revamp the contract, to make changes to the system or structure that no longer serves well enough. When Virgo/Pisces is emphasized, the issue is one of discernment, of separating fact from fiction, reality from the illusion or the wishful thinking. Virgo/Pisces is also about implementing practical steps that will lead to the realization of a potential or a cherished dream, hope, etc. The eclipse takes place mostly in the southern Antarctica region. Eclipses that occur near either the north or south poles tend to hold global influence.
The total lunar eclipse of Sept 27 is also a super full moon, the closest of three in a row (sandwiched between last month’s and next month’s full moons.) The lunar eclipse occurs at 4 Aries. At this time, Mars is also in its closest proximity to the earth. As such we can expect the end of Sept to be an exceptionally fired-up time. For sure we’ll see the political battle rage on here in Canada. With Mars freshly into Virgo and just past a square with Saturn, it is likely to be another major turning point time for personal life matters and also for the happenings out there in the world. This eclipse is the last in a (tetrad) series of four consecutive total lunar eclipses in a row spanning 2014/2015. The eclipse is visible over most of North America (fullest in the eastern half, South America, the most of Western Europe, most of Africa (western Africa gets the strongest hit), Asia.
Saturn in Sagittiarius, Sept 17 to Dec 19, 2017
From mid December 2014 through mid June of 2015, Saturn dipped into Sagittarius. From the middle of March through the start of August, Saturn was retrograde.
As of Sept 17 we are finished with Saturn’s final check-back with Scorpio. By mid November, Saturn will regain the distance it covered prior to this year’s 4 month retrograde cycle. Saturn will continue in Sagittarius through the end of 2017. This transit is one that shortens the distance to the goal post – in other words, that shapes our future in a more definitive way. What direction do you want your life to go in? What are you willing to do to make it happen? Reality may dictate to a large extent, but we are also responsible for the shape of things to come. How we conceptualize it, is how we create it. If we can envision a brighter future, we have more hope of getting there. (I’ll have more to say about Saturn in future writings.)

ARIES (March 21- April 19)
Venus and Mars in Leo boost your creativity, confidence, and success ratio. Both help you to be heard and seen in the best possible light, so aim to stand out from the crowd and to claim the attention you deserve and desire.
For this next year, Jupiter in Virgo benefits matters to do with work and health. The solar eclipse on Sept 12/13 signals start of a significant correction, healing, and improvement upswing. Too, it’s the right time to clean up your act or your life; to sink yourself into a key project, a new work track, a health or skills upgrade. Along with the solar eclipse, Mercury retrograde, starting Sept 17 also puts you to work regarding a social, financial, or legal matter. Watch for a particular relationship to be an attention getter and/or catalyst, be they an agent, colleague, supporter, friend, sibling, relative, competitor, or neighbour. Beyond the usual Mercury retrograde snafus, you are likely to feel like you are moving through a karmic corridor.
The Aries lunar eclipse on Sept 27 will be especially potent if you were born around March 25 or the eclipse makes direct contact to your natal chart. No matter what the go-button prompt, it’s onto full steam ahead.
TAURUS (April 20 -May 20)
It’s up to you to make it happen. Venus, your ruler, keeps you especially active and on the go through mid October. Along with Mars in Leo (through Sept 24), Venus aims to get you moving in a bright new direction. Consider this month as your fast track signal.
For this next year, Jupiter in Virgo helps you to make the most of what you have to work with. The transit will also show you what’s not delivering well enough, what you haven’t explored enough and/or how much further there is to go. Whether you see it as a minus or a plus, Jupiter and the solar eclipse of Sept 12/13 will assist you to better yourself, your health, or your opportunities. You are moving into a fertile growth cycle. The solar eclipse of September 12/13 is especially advantageous or fortuitous if you are born May 9 -13.
Along with Saturn in Sagittarius, it is the right time to go in search of better financial prospects. A relationship that is meant to be can show more promise. On the other hand, if you are outgrowing the relationship or circumstance, it will become more obvious; the distance will grow. Simply going through the motions will not do well enough. The lunar eclipse of Sept 27 can drive this message home. Putting the spotlight on matters to do with work, studies, health, finances, home base and your daily activities, Mercury retrograde, starting Sept 17 (through Oct 9) can challenge you with one thing after another. The balancing act can get tricky; expectations can fall short; you can run into problems with a co-worker or get pulled into another’s drama. On the other hand, you can gain indirect benefit through another. Another could make you look good through comparison. Watch for this transit to force you to re-consider your options, to reassess what is best for you. Mercury retrograde or the lunar eclipse could see you one-eighty flip on someone or something.
GEMINI (May 21-June 21)
Over this next year, Jupiter in Virgo puts you to major work on the clean up, fix up and upgrades. The solar eclipse of Sept 12/13 targets matters to do with home, health, family, real estate, self employment, and business growth. By all means, it’s time to get industrious and to tackle the change that you want to create for yourself, no matter how much effort is involved. Results can happen now and/or much later; regardless, don’t be deterred by the work or the investment. What you put into it you’ll get back in spades.
Along with Venus now direct and Mars in Leo, Mercury in Libra is a great transit for connecting, reaching out, expanding your social network, and for getting more pleasure out of your involvements, activities and leisure time. It’s lucrative month for creative endeavours, money making, and for affairs of the heart (including but not limited to your love life.) If it delivered the goods last time, it can do so again. Mercury retrograde, Sept 27 to Oct 9 is a good transit for repeats and re-meets.
The lunar eclipse of Sept 27 could spark a new goal, financial prospect, or a major lifestyle change. A key relationship (personal, professional, or romantic) can hit a major forward thrust.
CANCER (June 22-July 22)
Jupiter in Virgo and the solar eclipse on Sept 12/13 give you plenty more to work on, for, and toward. No more excuses, now’s the time to get on with the education, improvements, corrections, healings, and upgrades that are so necessary and so desired.
Boosting your confidence level and putting you into a great creative spurt, Venus and Mars in Leo help you to make full use of your best talents and resources. They also set fertile conditions for action taking regarding loving yourself more and/or money making.
To know that Mercury will turn retrograde on Sept 17 is to your advantage. Stay observant and alert now, and aim to build yourself an extra margin. If something were to sidetrack, do you have a cushion? What’s your plan B? Once Mercury turns retrograde, it can call for a major rethink or revision. It can see you backtrack on a decision or game plan. Revisits can be delightful or they can give you another go ‘round on something that’s already been problematic. Mercury retrograde targets home, family, finances, material wellbeing, safety margins, and your base of operations. It can keep you up in the air and/or take you through a transition period regarding renovations, your home address, or base of operations. Expenses can add up.
The Aries lunar eclipse on Sept 27 can launch a new professional or career chapter. It can also bring you a new personal life or material life status. There is always risk involved when you break new ground, but nothing ventured, nothing gained. To some extent, you may feel that you have no choice and that circumstances dictate; that you are required to brave the uncharted. Mercury is still retrograde during this eclipse but it could appear as a plus or a gift rather than a minus. Something or someone from the past can hold great relevancy and/or be your “it” ticket. It is possible to rebuild and succeed.
LEO (July 23-Aug. 22)
Hey hot stuff! You most definitely have it going on this month! Perhaps there’s something special on the go? It’s your time to shine, to make the world sit up and take notice. Looking and sounding your best, Mars and Venus in Leo will keep you knocking it out of the park through most of this month.
The solar eclipse of Sept 12/13 offers great potency to all improvement projects, so by all means sign up at the gym or the yoga studio, start eating better, and aim to maintain a healthier mind, body and spirit. Upgrade your skills, look for better work projects or job opportunities, employ better service providers, helpers or advisors, and ditch the relationships that aren’t delivering the goods.
Mercury retrograde, starting Sept 17, so make sure you can back out, add on, modify it, or return it if you want to. Don’t make promises or bank on them. While Mercury is retrograde in Libra, issues of enmeshment, one-sidedness, imbalances, or projected expectations can give you a run for it.
The total lunar eclipse in Aries on Sept 27 can be a great time to travel, publish, perform, relocate, or to go exploring. Something could hit you in a flash.
VIRGO (Aug. 23-Sept. 22)
Venus and Mars maintain a background presence but they are potent none the less. Both are actively informing your consciousness and fertilizing your potentials. To a large extent, Jupiter in Virgo is doing the same but from a much more front and center position. You’ll see evidence an opening, unfolding and ripening, especially as of mid month when Jupiter moves to the next phase with Neptune. Sept 16 or the days around it may be a trigger (or yet another trigger) for the solar eclipse in Virgo which happens on Sept 12/13. This eclipse acts as a highly significant instigator and/or launch-it influence. Consider as a definitive line-in-the-sand between what was and what is now appearing on the horizon.
Mercury in Libra begins retrograde on the same day that Saturn enters Sagittarius, Sept 17. Both are going to shift your attention and submerge you more fully in the karmic happenings of the here and now. How you think, observe, evaluate, how you frame and project your take on reality – you could feel like you are watching yourself in a movie.
Mercury retrograde will take you through a deeper questioning period. It can see you retrace steps, or start all over again. A key relationship, finances, and goals come under review too. The lunar eclipse of Sept 27 can fire something more or something new regarding all of the above.
LIBRA (Sept 22-Oct 22)
In addition to being well timed for the summer kick back, the past six weeks of Venus retrograde has allowed you extra time to feel your way along. As of Sept 17, Mercury will give you yet another chance to figure yourself out. Of course, the transit is set up to deliver all that Mercury retrograde does – the backtracking, the second guessing, the repeats, the weeding out, the health, wealth and relationship derailments, etc. Beyond this, it is a transit that is meant to help you stay true to yourself and to what is most important for you. It can be a great transit for independent creative exploration, for standing apart from the crowd, and/or for making your way as a group of one. Along with Saturn’s advance into Sagittarius on the same day, the transits will point you in the direction you are meant to travel. It can shape up to be a significant corrective, healing, or weeding-out cycle.
The solar eclipse on Sept 12/13 can open up something unresolved; that is in need of fixing, healing, repair, or upgrade. Perhaps it’s time to come clean with someone or something. It could tap your vulnerable spot. You could get a hint of something on brew, or it could be full on. Plus and minus can be in the mix. Giving up to get is likely to be in the mix. Tend to what’s necessary asap and it could prove to be a saving grace. Sept 16/17 can reveal or trigger more.
The lunar eclipse in Aries on Sept 27 could set wheels in motion, perhaps faster than you had planned. It can be difficult to stop the freight-train or to pace yourself, but when it’s opportune and exciting, you won’t want to
SCORPIO (Oct 23~Nov 22)
Venus and Mars continue to benefit your career prospects and goals. By all means, aim for the spotlight, be an attention getter, stay proud. Claim the respect and legitimacy that you know you deserve. Stay ambitious. There’s great reward to be had. What you can accomplish now will be of lasting merit.
Setting major wheels in motion, the solar eclipse happens on Sept 12/13, but you may see more or further action on Sept 16/17 thanks to several significant transits. Jupiter’s opposition to Neptune can be exposing, inspiring, opportune, or fruitful. It is a time of letting go and of opening up. Saturn leaves your sign on Sept 17, the same day Mercury turns retrograde. Together, these two transits clear the remaining rocks from the path and send you on your way to where-ever it is you are meant to go next.
The super lunar eclipse on Sept 27 could dish up fresh work, a new health or healing opportunity. On the other hand, with Mercury in retrograde during this eclipse, you may find that someone is secretly undermining you, competing against you, or has borrowed or infiltrated in some unacceptable way. Added safety measures are always advised during Mercury retrograde. Think twice about what you say and to whom. Also be especially careful regarding passing on information, or listening to advice. Someone may be well meaning, but misleading. By the same token, make sure your motives are principled too.
SAGITTARIUS (Nov 22 ~ Dec 21)
Mars already has you fired up and good to go. Venus seconds that emotion as of Sept 6 when she ends retrograde. Hopefulness and opportunity hits an upswing; you’ll cover the distance even better now.
Projects, plans, and ambitions also get a fresh infusion from the solar eclipse of Sept 12/13. This is an excellent time to start a new career direction or chapter. It is also a great time to formally upgrade skills or clean up your act with better health regimes or a better financial plan. If it isn’t working well enough for you, well, there’s your answer right there.
Jupiter in Virgo builds an opposition to Neptune in Pisces through Sept 16. Personally, professionally and karmically, this transit gives you an added sense of purpose and drive. You can have a feeling that you are working toward something momentous, that destiny is calling to you or urging you to keep going. Indeed it is. Whatever it is, it is a process and it will unfold in stages. This transit continues to hold potency through the end of October (and beyond.)
We have had a short introduction to Saturn in Sagittarius from December of last year through mid June. As of Sept 17, Saturn will re-enter Sagittarius, to stay until the end of 2016. The transit can put you under added pressure to get a move on. As the planet that correlates to time and to aging, Saturn will also make you aware of your physical, health, and material limitations. As a ripening influence, it is also one that says the time has come.
Expect to cut loose, jump into it quick, or for a freight train to hit at the end of the month. The super moon lunar eclipse can bring something or someone unexpected to your attention. There’s an opportunity to dive into something fresh, to enjoy more freedom and independence.
CAPRICORN (Dec 22 ~ Jan 19)
Mars in Leo keeps you in good fighting spirit. Literally and figuratively, you’ll cash in even better once Venus ends retrograde on Sept 6. The destiny-in-the-making solar eclipse of Sept 12/13 can put exceptional opportunity in your path. Whether loss or gain, (and most likely the latter) – that which gains wings falls into the substantial category. Watch for things to unfold over the following weeks. Sept 16 and 17 are notable trigger dates. Keep open-ended until you see what time delivers. The eclipse brings benefit to all ambitions to do with expansion and upgrades, skills refinement, career and education specializations, relocation, publishing and marketing, the spiritual quest. Planned or unexpected, the eclipse could see you travel more. Legal matters could occupy you too. For some, it can also set more fertile conditions for calling forth a lover or soul mate. Too, the eclipse can necessitate that you seek, need or contribute more. A relationship with a friend, teacher, mentor, agent, advisor, helper, sibling or in-law can be of particular significance too.
Mercury retrograde can challenge you to stay the course. You may have to adjust the rules, your expectations, your goals, or to redefine your boundaries and priorities. Mercury retrograde can necessitate a review of financial and personal commitments, or further investment. There can be legal matters and contracts to sort out. It is okay to revise or re-sign during the retrograde. Borrowing is okay too. Mercury retrograde can also see you question your commitment to another. Are you and your partner on the same page or are you competing against one another?
The lunar eclipse of Sept 27/28 is sure to see action regarding matters to do with home, family, real estate, self employment, a personal life or relationship status. Despite Mercury retrograde, it’s an excellent time to launch a new business or a project, especially one that’s already been in the works. If your home life, committed relationship or business partnership isn’t cutting it well enough, this lunar eclipse may prompt you to do something official about it
AQUARIUS (Jan 20 ~ Feb 18)
Venus out of retrograde on Sept 6 will increase your ability to reach out and make contact. Venus boosts your confidence and your prospects. Socially and professionally, you’ll find you can develop a better rapport with folks, that they are “feeling you” more, that they are more attracted to what you have to offer. Venus can also add to your love life. Someone or something special can spark your attention. Along with Mars, the next month or two is a dynamic take-flight time for relationships and financial matters.
One way or another, the solar eclipse of Sept 12/13 will put you to work. It necessitates that you get real about money and health matters. There may be hefty expenses or investments to make, but while there may be little choice, there is much to gain. With Chiron in the mix, there is often an element of giving up to get, or a loss to face. One door closes, another opens. The eclipse benefits the start of a new work, study, or health program.
Sept 16/17 can be full of the unexpected. Regarding health, information, your belongings or money matters, put extra safeguards in place. Don’t under-estimate or over-value. Don’t bank on a promise. Know you have no ability to control how things play out, that what is set in motion has a mind or life of its own. Even though Mercury retrograde tends to create temporary situations, what occurs is likely to hold long range application or influence. To the plus, a new financial track can be quite lucrative. A new relationship, etc. can take your life in a promising new direction.
PISCES (Feb 19 ~ March 20)
The solar eclipse of Sept 12/13 sets an especially fertile backdrop. It holds great potential, especially so when you allow yourself to dream it and do it. Open up to creativity and imagination. Let inspiration have its moment. Immerse yourself and don’t compare yourself to anyone else. While a bit of healthy competition can spur you to better your best, if you put too much attention on others, it will prove to be an undermining distraction. Rather, aim to express what is most natural from within.
The solar eclipse also holds great healing potential for health matters, relationships, and finances. On the flip side, the eclipse can reveal something that needs fixing. Even if it challenges you, see it for the saving grace that it is. Venus and Mars in Leo will set you up for the maximum benefit on all improvements and upgrades, this regarding the short and the long term.
Jupiter in opposition to Neptune on Sept 16 Saturn’s advance into Sagittarius, and Mercury retrograde starting Sept 17 will thrust the action switch in some major way. Career wise, relationship wise, and personally, a new reality will set into play, one that will define your future in some significant way. Sept 24 through the super full moon on Sept 27 is a push-come-to-shove or a take-the-ball-and-run-with-it time. The eclipse targets finances, health, and a key relationship. Someone could enter or exit your life. Noting that Mercury is retrograde during this time, there’s a likelihood of a repeat, a revisit or a re-flare-up. A contract, actual or karmic in nature, is up for a rewrite.
