Most would agree this last Mercury retrograde cycle (which ended on Sept 29) was especially wearing. We will be moving onto a better get-ahead track now, especially once the rest of the debris is swept out of the way. The high-strung, tension producing days leading to the Harvest Full Moon, Oct 3, ultimately serve as a prompt in the right direction, even if it doesn’t quite look like progress in the moment. In fact, this fired-up Aries Full Moon is energized by two very dynamic planetary influences, namely Mercury in opposition to Uranus (a double track on the aspect from Sept 23) and Mars in trine to Uranus. The atmosphere is highly charged. With such stellar synchronicity and intensity, you can bet we are in for a lively and happening time. On a basic note, the Full Moon can ignite a great few days for entertainments, socializing, creativity and romance. Vancouver’s film fest could not have picked a better stellar backdrop.
Of course, if things are already on the hot button, the Full Moon Oct 3 could a fire starter. If you get hit with something unexpected and disconcerting, know that the stars are forcing you to break out of a stalemate pattern and try to keep the bigger picture in mind. The planetary stage is set for a synchronistic leap forward. You may be surprised to see how fast and how smoothly you can create effective change and/or adapt to a new game.
While the pressure can stay high until Mercury and Saturn reconvene Oct 8 and advances into Libra, Oct 9 (to 28), the second week of October can be a productive one re resolution, reconciliation, goal reaching, contract signing, and completions.
The end of Jupiter retrograde (Oct 13) can set the dial on a forward thrust of significance. (The retrograde cycle began mid June 2009.) Jupiter is the planet of envisioning, of expanding horizons, of looking to the future and of moving beyond. It is the planet of increase, hope, and expectancy. Jupiter asks you to enlist more faith and to embark on a journey. Mid-month forward can be a lucrative time to resume (plans, projects, legal matters, educational pursuits, moves, etc.) or to aim in an altogether new direction. For some, Jupiter can deliver abundant opportunity and advantage. For some, Jupiter’s return to direct motion could deliver abundance in an overwhelming or mixed package. (On a more transitory (brief) note, the Sun in trine to celebratory Jupiter (Oct 10) is in perfect alignment for the Canadian Thanksgiving weekend. We may see more than the usual number of travelers or shoppers.)
Also on Oct 13 asteroid Ceres will advance into transformative Scorpio, (to Dec 20.) Akin to Pluto’s evolutionary process, Ceres in Scorpio can resurrect unfinished business, from your recent past or from your past lives. It may be a time to revisit, but the added influence of Ceres underscores the fact that things cannot and must not remain the same.
Mars will advance into Leo as of Oct 16. Due to its retrograde cycle (an occurrence that happens about every two years) Mars will enjoy an extended stay in Leo (through June 6, 2010.) Mars in Leo suggests it is high time to refuel with the kindling of “I deserve the best – from myself and for myself”. Keep yourself at your own creative center; don’t let others block your light. Aim to better your best, stay impressive (but don’t be a show-off), and you’ll naturally gain more of the good stuff (positive attention, praise, respect, adoration, love.)
Mars in Leo inspires renewed confidence and creativity, arouses passions, and sparks the undertaking of major initiatives. This Mars transit can be a wonderful stimulant for excellence-in-motion and artistry-in-motion – artists, performers, athletes, and entrepreneurs derive full benefits. It is an especially empowering influence for leadership undertakings too. Mars in Leo places a high premium on the good life and self-gratifications – pleasure, play and romance top the list. Entertainment industries should enjoy positive/lucrative surge during Mars in Leo’s reign. Befittingly, here in BC we are gearing up for the Olympic (Leo) Torch Relay begins on Oct 30 in Victoria BC.
While Mars in radiant Leo can fire up the romance for some, for others, Mars in Leo brings a time when rocking your own world and going it alone can be preferred above all. The (newly) single state can delightful for some. Children – having them, their wellbeing, their activities, ambitions, and achievements, are also a feature topic for Mars in Leo. The downside of Mars in Leo is seen in displays of excess – vanity, pride, superiority complex, center of the universe consciousness, arrogance, selfishness, extravagance, indulgence, hedonism, infidelity, defensiveness, power plays, etc.
Mars will retrograde Dec 20 – Mar 10, 2010. When in reverse motion, the previously cherished, elevated, or glorified can lose luster. Pedestals can crumble and high expectations can fall short. We shall see if Canada’s Olympic opening ceremony can match China’s spectacular show. This Mars retrograde can also suggest there may be surprises and upsets at the podium. While it remains to be seen whether the Olympics will be the cash-cow that local residents and businesses anticipate, the Special Olympics can deliver – and then some!
On another note, confident Mars in Leo could bring a stock market/speculative rally. While in direct motion, gold and other luxury items/status symbols could enjoy a surge, but when Mars turns retrograde we could see trends change.
Saturn’s exit of Virgo (first begun in Sept 2007) can come as a welcome relief to most, especially for Virgo, Sagittarius, Pisces, and Gemini folk. We will have one last round of Saturn in Virgo, from April through July 2010, but for now, a reprieve cycle begins with Saturn’s entrance into Libra, Oct 29. This Saturn transit is one that aims to bring the swinging scales into a better balance. The shift can signal a particularly significant (perhaps dramatic) “off with the old, on with the new” threshold crossing time due to the critical (square) aspect formed to Pluto in Capricorn (Saturn’s sign.)
Saturn in Libra sees a more stringent attention focused on our evaluation process re material, social/cultural, and partnership needs; implied is a growing recognition of pitfalls and shortfalls of significance. This Saturn/Pluto aspect can see the demise of compensations that have allowed for a perpetuation of the “settling for less” routine. Saturn in Libra will reduce viable options – ultimately it will serve to make choice making more clear-cut. Saturn in Libra may necessitate compromise, but when Pluto is involved, middle of the road is not the right aim. Those born at the equinoxes or solstices (the start of Aries, Cancer, Libra, and Capricorn) will feel an especially compelling pressure to create major reforms. In the larger context, Saturn in Libra’s cycle necessitates the formation and strengthening of political and economic alliances; we can already see this important re-shaping taking place now. We are just at the very beginning stage of what is yet to come.

ARIES (MARCH 20 – APRIL 19)
The Full Moon Oct 3 can produce a busy, on the go, stimulating weekend. Mars and Uranus suggest synchronicity can work like a charm. Mercury’s opposition to Uranus could bring a surprise opportunity, invitation, piece of information, or a saving grace. At the very least, entertainment can be readily found. Try something outside of your usual fare. For an extended period, Mars in Leo (beginning Oct 16) brings your time to shine and to grab spotlight attention. With such a vibrantly fired up initiative, the fall season could produce a happening time for creative and entrepreneurial undertakings. This Mars advance can also light up your love life. Children, their arrival, needs, independence, or accomplishments can be a primary focus too. Perhaps they’ll undertake something exceptional.
Jupiter (out of retrograde as of Oct 12) opens it up/delivers a forward thrust of significance. You should see more action (lucrative potentials, social opportunity, financial upswings, romantic prospects) and more synchronistic advantages from mid month onward.
Professional relationships are a primary focus of Saturn’s advance into Libra, beginning Oct 29. Whom you know can be perhaps even more important than what you know. The connections and alliances you make now and in coming months can be significant in terms of career advancement and professional status. Re your personal life, Saturn in Libra is a time to formalize a relationship, (marriage, etc.), or to call it a day.
TAURUS (APRIL 19 – MAY 20)
If you are already heading down the right track, this first week of the month could see things fall into place quite quickly. Helpful supporters are readily found among the contacts and friends you have already made. Sign up, participate, check it out, inquire, circulate, and socialize especially on the Full Moon weekend (and thereabouts), you never know who you could meet and where it could lead to. The second week of the month could see you “get there”/achieve plenty (reach a goal; come to a critical decision, completion point or endpoint of significance.)
Mars into Leo could launch you a new direction re work, or a home or family situation. For some, Mars in Leo can signals a residence move, for others, the start of your own business. At the very least, this Mars placement will intensify your drive to create a better foundation for yourself – financially and emotionally. Conflict with a particular family member (a parent, a child) can flare up, but at the root of it all, is a mirrored desire for more recognition, attention, and respect.
Saturn’s entrance into Libra at the end of the month signals added pressure to create the necessary improvements and upgrades re work and health. This Saturn placement will naturally find you wanting to put the extra effort forward, at least initially. The widening disparity between where you want to be and where you actually are will provide enough incentive to make you try harder. The end of Jupiter’s retrograde cycle (Oct 12) can bring a release or freeing up from recent pressures, and see you relinquish some of your own resistance or blocks too. Once you roll up your sleeves and face what’s necessary, you should find that the doing comes much easier than you had previously anticipated. In fact, a new job or circumstance could stimulate and revitalize you in unexpected ways. Pleasing results will lead to an increase in pride and self-confidence.
GEMINI (May 20 – June 20/21)
The full moon could bring news about a real estate transaction, a family, or professional matter. Something unexpected or unplanned could provide a welcome distraction from recent pressures, or an unexpected easy out. Occurrences around the full moon could open your mind, your heart, or your wallet in some unexpected way too. October 7 – 9 could bring you to a deadline, endpoint, conclusion or finalization. Oct 10, the Sun trine Jupiter can be especially rewarding or pleasure-filled (it’s also a good day for travel, studies, performance, weddings or other celebrations.) Jupiter’s synchronistic forward thrust (end of retrograde Oct 12) can get things moving again. Past mid month is also the time to expand, to explore, and to reach higher. For the next six months, Mars in Leo can help you to make more successful connections, socially, professionally, and for yourself too. Studies, for pleasure or personal interest, could open unexpected doors. Those of you in performing arts or creative fields will derive benefit from Mars in Leo. For all, it’s a time to shine and to call special attention to yourself whenever you can. Mars can mobilize you socially, creatively, and physically too.
The end of Jupiter’s retrograde cycle (Oct 12) can swing more doors open. Things can come to you easier. You should feel a lightening up and a more positive outlook too. Saturn’s advance out of problematic one-thing-after-another Virgo and into harmonious Libra at month’s end also comes as welcome news for your sign. Saturn brings the reward of greater self-assurance, deepening commitment levels and an overall steadier gait as you work toward creating more security where it counts the most.
CANCER (June 21/22 – July 22)
Spurred by the “no time to waste” Full Moon, start of the month can be time to come at it from a new angle or to head off in an altogether new direction. Mars in Cancer (to Oct 15) can keep you stoked with plenty of fire in your belly. Follow your gut instincts and take more risks. Oct 6 – 10 lucrative stars offer promise for long-term benefit (sign contracts, make contact/commitments, etc.) This first ten days of the month bring an important time to stay organized and on top of what is necessary. Use your time as efficiently as you can, improve your client base and work on your friendships too; think in terms of preventative measures, and don’t let yourself lag behind. If you’ll follow this advice, you’ll gain a step up on Saturn’s advance into Libra at the end of the month. Mercury enters Libra Oct 9, and Venus does so on Oct 14. Work on appearances and enhancements in all areas (includes renovations and decorating projects.)
Mars in Leo, beginning Oct 6, will stay in your resources sector until June 2010. This is a very long time to work on your financial get ahead. It’s also a time of self-discovery that could help you to unearth natural talents and resources that may have been untapped as yet. This Mars placement fires up your creativity, your libido, your love life, and your fertility prospects.
Saturn’s advance into Libra can signal an appropriate time for real estate transactions, (buying or selling.) It can be time to consider a renter or a business investor in order to ease your financial bottom lines. Saturn in Libra can bring added concern for aging parents or other family members. You may need to take extra responsibility in this regard, or it may be a matter of forcing others to take on their fair share of the household or family responsibilities too. Business partnerships can have their plus and minus too. Saturn in Libra suggests a good time to launch your own business or conversely, to wind down to retirement.
LEO (JULY 22 – AUG 22)
Whether you sneak-off for a pseudo honeymoon, indulge yourself with time alone, or enjoy the local action, the harvest Full Moon weekend is sure to be an entertaining one. Your creative wellspring runs especially high, so by all means, let it pour forth! Mars in Cancer (Aug 25 to Oct 15) has taken you through a gestational or budding phase. As stated above, Mars in Leo is a longer than usual transit, so you can expect your “fight and might” (enthusiasm, drive, energy, libido) to be lucrative burning fuel. Still, note that Mars retrograde (Dec 21 – Mar 11) can extinguish the fire, so think more in immediate terms and be observant regarding the building outside influences. They will provide clues that will demonstrate the viability or sustainability of your current love affairs (goals, ambitions, relationships.) Jupiter’s forward thrust (retrograde completion, Oct 12) can be likened to another green light signal. Legal matters, partnership deals, your social life, new financial, creative, and romantic opportunities are likely to get rolling again.
The synchronistic New Moon Oct 17 brings a lucrative time for fresh starts and for collaborating up with others, for fun, for financial gain, or to advance self-improvement programs; resume projects, ambitions, talks, studies, advertising campaigns, etc. Saturn’s advance into Libra at the end of the month suggests it can be time to limit your output to the people, projects and ambitions that matter the most. Stop talking, start doing; dedicate time to getting that book actually written or to making those other creative projects really happen.
VIRGO (Aug 22 – Sept 21)
All Virgos will feel a sense of the fast receding past, but those of you born Sept 16 – 21 are especially impacted by the current transits of Saturn, Uranus and Mercury. The now is a time of ending chapters, of saying goodbye to a consciousness/way of being and living that has probably been with you for far too long. Saturn in Virgo (past 2 ½ years) has likely put you through tough paces, hopefully it has taught you that needless suffering and self-denial simply perpetuates more suffering and starvation. Saturn in Libra’s goal is to teach you to become a better mathematician so that your evaluations can lead you to greater fulfillment in all areas. Note that we aren’t quite done with Saturn in Virgo yet, April 7 – July 21 will be the time to clean up the last bits and pieces.

Your hand/eye coordination is likely to especially steady and refined, which is good to note if your work or craft involves exacting detail or precision movements. Oct 10 – 12 can be especially lucrative dates. Plan to meet with someone in charge; they could open doors for you. Your relationship to those in positions of authority is fortuitous on these dates, so it’s a good time to schedule job interviews or legal proceedings. A lucrative contract could come your way. A note of caution, don’t project too far ahead, make assumptions, or place too much faith in promises. Know your limits. AQUARIUS (JAN 19 – FEB 18)
The full moon could create some opportunity for you, perhaps unexpectedly so. Watch for a conversation, phone call, or piece of news. While you might prefer your freedom, it is profitable to say yes to an extra work shift. In addition, the full moon could bring an added expense or prompt you to impulse spending. Act/jump when you feel inspired, impromptu activities or gestures could be the most rewarding. The second week of the month could keep you busy or under pressure, but the stars suggest pushing ahead (or forcing the envelope) will prove to be productive. Oct 7/8 can be days for hashing it out/broaching serious talks/topics or undergoing tests, Oct 8/9, things can readily fall into place, Oct 12/13 can be days to hear results, meet deadlines, complete transactions, contracts or projects, or to unburden yourself from some one or something.
Once Jupiter in Aquarius completes retrograde (as of Oct 12) you can feel even more motivated, and you should be able to string it together better too. You should see more action, better synchronicity, and more viable options appear too. Keeping it lively, vibrant Jupiter will continue in your sign through mid January. The advance of Mars into Leo, Oct 16 (to June 6, 2010) will put the focus on creating a better balance between your outer world ambitions and your personal life. A better social life more, satisfying connections with others, more acknowledgment and praise, a joyous love life – you deserve more of these essential rewards. If you are not getting enough of the good stuff yet, the transits of Jupiter and Mars will prompt you to expand the search. You deserve what you reach out for – aim higher. Saturn’s advance into Libra, Oct 29, suggests a time of ripening is at hand. This planetary advance moves into very strong position, one of the best positions for your sign. Apply yourself and Saturn in Libra can indeed help you to materialize/actualize your most cherished goals.
PISCES (FEB 18 – MAR 20)
The stars have put you under plenty of added pressure; things have probably dragged out for a long time too. The full moon Oct 3 is sure to break you out of this pattern. Aim to free-up and unburden yourself wherever and however you can. This full moon could also bring you to a severing of ties or a breaking point of significance, but as soon as you let go, you should gain instant relief. Of course, perhaps it is a matter of you taking action, but that of allowing a chain of events or set of circumstances to unfold. With Mars in Cancer in an empowered trine to Uranus (in Pisces), (and Jupiter’s influence too) you should see rapid uphill progress. Once the ball gets rolling, things can work out in your favor, perhaps easier and much better than you may anticipate. You should see a lot of action and threshold surpassing in the second week of the month. Jupiter’s return to direct motion on Oct 12 can remove blocks, (seen, unseen, undercurrents), open hidden doors, and shift the tides to a more active and generating plus.
The advance of Mars into Leo (Oct 16) can put you back to work (work-wise, health-wise, spiritually too.) View it as a fresh start on the road to recovery, improvement and to claiming what you know you deserve. You can make it better for yourself. Stay ambitious and don’t settle for less. When it comes to investing in your wellbeing, only the best will do. Saturn’s entrance into Libra Oct 29 can call for more streamlining and overhead reductions as you attempt to stabilize yourself better.
