November Forecast Overview:
Do you feel that sense of something about to break or that other shoe about to drop? Can you feel a pressure ceiling mounting? The stars now set the clock to the “time has come” hour. Even if you have nothing immediately threatening to contend with in your personal life, the H1N1 threat – and the confusion over who or what to believe, or whether to inoculate or not to – can keep anxiety on high alert.
Changing direction within a couple of weeks of each other, the triple alignment group, (see previous forecast intros) is currently making headway again. Jupiter completed retrograde on Oct 17, Chiron on Oct 30, and on Nov 4, Neptune will do the same. As stated in previous columns, this triple alignment (in Aquarius) is another major invigorating influence for this high-water-mark moment in our collective awakening. Our consciousness of H1N1 was first raised as the triple alignment approached its first peak back in the spring. Note that each of the trio has been in retrograde from the end of May to now, (the pandemic’s underground gestational period.) Production on the inoculation took place during this retrograde cycle; distribution now begins as the retrograde period ends.
Beyond the H1N1 issue, if you think back to what was going on for you earlier in the year, you may see how circumstances had shifted (was interrupted, stalled, moved out of the foreground, etc.) during these past five months. Now that all three of the triple alignments planets have completed the retrograde cycle, watch for the unfinished or previously shelved business to re-activate. The end of Neptune’s retrograde cycle (Nov 4) can be felt in subtle or overt ways. Of course, once the sensed and felt becomes more fully exposed, it will allow you to better clarify your position and needs. The triple alignment will now climb toward to its second peak (Dec 7 – 20.)
Saturn completed its 2 ½ year tour of duty through Virgo on Oct 28, the day Michael Jackson’s tribute movie “This is it” was released. This simple and timely statement is a befitting reminder as we face our next day’s dawn.
On Oct 29, as Saturn made its first advance into Libra, it hot-wired the Aries point (opposition aspect) and intensified the dynamic aspect (square) with Pluto. Regular TV broadcasting was interrupted to report on the killing spree in a North Hollywood synagogue. The day before, a bombing at a UN hostel in Pakistan left several dead. Eruption of violence, scandal, and corruption is typical when Saturn and Pluto square, but sadly, isn’t the world in crisis also beginning to feel all too commonplace? The American dollar continues to weaken against the Canadian dollar, Afghan prepares for the re-vote despite growing Taliban threats, and the list of our harsh realities grows longer. Positively, reports from the economic sector say we are pulling out of the recession.
Obviously, Saturn’s current sign advance signals yet another “match-strike” moment. (Pluto’s monumental entrance into Capricorn at the end of 2008 was the first of the batch and there’s much more to come.) Saturn will remain in a tight square aspect to Pluto Nov 1 – 15 and is particularly catalytic for those born at the beginning of Aries, Cancer, Libra, Capricorn, and at the tail end of the mutable signs: Gemini, Virgo, Sagittarius and Pisces. Pressures, frustrations, delays, work, and working it out can be especially trying or confronting in these next few weeks. When Saturn wrestles with forceful do-it-or-else Pluto, who wins? Realist Saturn must concede, of course. The faster you can acclimatize yourself to “this is it, deal with it”, the more effectively you will navigate through your particular date with destiny. This Saturn/Pluto square aspect can force you to take a sharp turn around a blunt-edge corner, one that has most likely been observed, but avoided, for quite some time.
Note, Saturn will pass over the critical Aries Point again April 7 (by retrograde; effective March 26 –April 8), and July 21 (by direct motion). Saturn will (tightly) square Pluto for a second time mid July through September of 2010.
On the plus side, Saturn’s advance into reconciling Libra, aims to minimize the extremes and to work toward a bettered equilibrium. Saturn’s first agenda is to make the imbalances more obvious so that they can be accurately evaluated (Libra). Often this can translates into the no-pain-no-gain routine. Re the leveling of the playfield, it is interesting to note that on the day Saturn entered Libra, the internet industry announced solutions are on the way to allow non-Latin languages to have addresses in their own script (currently http and .com or whatever must still be used.)
Yes, Saturn in Libra can limit options and put you under pressure to conform to status quos that may not have been your first pick. Still, the ambitious realist thrives under Saturn’s guidance. If the direction forward or the results are not what you expected, keep the bigger picture in mind and know there is a reason for everything. We may not know the entirety of what we’ll meet with on the road ahead, but we can attempt to control what we can by making the most of the moment as it unfolds.
On a lighter, more inspirational note: Oct 30, the day after Saturn entered Libra, the Olympic torch was transported from Greece to Victoria to begin its Canadian journey. Saturn correlates to ancient, and Libra correlates to Greece. Astrology can be quite literal at times!

The full moon (in musical Taurus) on Nov 2 can be one of harmony, creativity, and romance, and of beautiful coming together. On the opposite side of things, the full moon could be one of believing/seeing what you want to see instead of what is. Note that there is a higher propensity for the following: vulnerability, susceptibility, blind spots/missing the point, (self) deception, projections, paranoia, obsession, polarization, compromised trust (theft, betrayal), misplacing possessions, financial, emotional, or physical drain or loss.
Ceres in Scorpio (confronting shadow) is in dynamic aspect to Mars through November and into December, further accentuating the critical and karmic razor’s edge of this particular personal and collective working-it-through cycle.
The synchronistic new moon Nov 16 can be a lucrative forward thrust or turnaround time and signals the beginning of a vibrant few weeks for holiday social pleasures, shopping and humanitarian outpouring. ARIES (MARCH 20 – APRIL 19)
Saturn’s advance into Libra will force you to address how you show up – or, conversely, how you don’t show up for yourself when you interface with others. Progressively, Saturn’s prompt will help you ending a way of being, and of being seen, appreciated, or judged by others too. A partnerships or alliance, a social network, financial investment, or previous contractual arrangement can be nearing a delivering-the-goods reward stage, or you may come to realize that your circumstances and commitments are too restrictive or limited, in which case moving on will prove to be wise and well timed. Those born Mar 21 – 23 can feel the pressure of Saturn/Pluto square most intensely in these first two weeks of November. This acceleration aspect can prompt a professional turning point of significance, one that can put you in a more prominent at-the-helm position or direction. Saturn in Libra suggests its time to claim your rightful dues or to gain formal status. Perhaps it is time to show yourself to the world as an authority or expert of significance (a master’s degree etc.), to make the transition into retirement or to un-tether yourself in some other way. Saturn’s influence correlates to a stage of ripening, to the maturation process, to the forging of more consistent boundaries, and establishing better control. Saturn in Libra also brings a time to reassess financial agreements or goals, professional or personal contracts (marriage, etc.), to handle legal matters, wills, and claim or declare your official status. The first half of the month requires added persistence. Nov 22 through the end of the month, opportune stars (Venus, Jupiter, Uranus, and the Sun) can help you to attract, generate, expand, free up/open up, and surpass with greater ease. The full moon Nov 2 highlights self worth, net worth, and financial matters, key talks, negotiations, rearrangements, important decisions. It can be a time to pick one and go, in other words, to make a commitment and to plan to stick to it or stick it out. The synchronistic new moon Nov 16 can open unexpected doors, release you or set you free. This new moon is the start of an opportunity and social cycle.
TAURUS (APRIL 19 – MAY 20)
Saturn’s advance into Libra can put the squeeze on health or work matters and your self-improvement mandates. If you have settled for less, Saturn’s prompt could force you to see what is in plain sight and to set your bar higher. If you are on the right track, you will see reward on the horizon now. If you have not taken upon yourself to do what needs to be done, watch for thwarting influences to force you to confront the necessary work. As you can see, Saturn has many ways that it can manifest, but thanks to Pluto’s influence (and Uranus too), once you get over your resistance, attachments, or fear, and get with the program, you may wonder why you have wasted so much precious time. In fact, once you are on the right roll, things can correct or right themselves much quicker and much better than you may anticipate. A more resilient and good looking you, a new lifestyle, and a brighter future are well within reach. The direction forward can deliver a sense of liberation and grounding at the same time. In fact, you could soon find yourself thriving in some unexpected way. November delivers an opportunity time, so seize the power of now and take control while the rein is still in your hands. The full moon Nov 2 can smooth out a relationship or financial matter, or make it easier for you to let it go and embrace new potentials. The new moon on Nov 16 can launch a “getting there” cycle.
GEMINI (May 20 – June 20/21)
All air signs can derive some relief from Saturn’s advance into Libra; your sign gains maximum support and security from this sign placement. As stated above, Saturn in Libra brings a time of ripening, of successful stage-setting, or of coming full circle. Considering the hard hits your sign has taken through both the Saturn in Virgo transit and the lengthy Pluto in Sagittarius years, this should come as good news. A more secure financial or relationship track is more possible now. In fact, you could be on your way to raising that the low ceiling that has hung over you in recent years. Professional, romantic, or child-rearing challenges can smooth out to a more workable level. While your freedom is always important to you, commitment can grow more attractive, and provides a safety net from which you can explore and diversity with less worry and more effectiveness. Confidence generator Mars in Leo continues to put you in a favorable spotlight and builds a bigger fan club for you now. The full moon Nov 2 can provide hidden advantage or visible opportunity. It is the right time to safeguard, strategize, plan ahead, or shop ahead. Make health and safety at work your top priorities. Take advantage of travel fares or other opportune offers, advertise, interview or explore job or romantic prospects. Connections or moves you make now can prove to be useful to you later. Once the refreshing new moon Nov 16 arrives, you should see an ease up of anxiety and uncertainty. Things should fall into place and smooth out quite readily.
CANCER (June 21/22 – July 22)
A new net worth and self worth chapter begins now, especially for those of you born June 22 – 26. Real estate matters or living space improvements can be to the foreground now. It can be time to jump into the market as a first time buyer, or to consider downsizing to a more manageable economic level. Consider renting a portion of your home, or space in your business to make your monthly overhead more comfortable. Shared accommodations, responsibilities, jobs, or other resources/items (the car for example) could be a plus for some, and a difficulty for others, especially for those of you who have chosen to live separate lives but are still under the same roof. Venus, Mercury, and the Sun in Scorpio suggest an opportune few weeks to put concentrated effort into bettering your best. Stay driven to get to where you know you should be and use this first 2 weeks to push past limitations or insecurities. Action taking could lead to satisfying results. You should find you have more to work with and more incentive too, especially in the second half of the month. Satisfaction with life (and with love) can grow quite nicely now. Perform your best and aim higher, Nov 2 – 11; put maximum attention re finances, creative undertakings, or romantic stage setting. The opportune and liberating new moon Nov 16 could see plans and ambitions fall into place quite nicely.
LEO (JULY 22 – AUG 22)
Despite the added pressure, the force that needs to be exerted, or what it looks like once you reach the other side, this first two weeks could see you surpass a significant work, health, financial, or relationship hurdle. It may be a matter of giving up to get, such as reducing your usual social activities so that you can address priorities or to cut back on entertainment or frivolous spending. Scorpio month is always one that can see a resurrection of unfinished business or that can cause you to rethink the course you are on. You can make some of your greatest turnarounds or empowering decisions during this time. Nov 1-4, 8, 9, and 11 can be notable. Either you will experience added pressure from outside forces, find yourself coping with the unforeseen, or you’ll feel a compelling urgency that can force you to take definitive action. Nov 13 to the new moon Nov 16 forward, could provide opportunity, reveal hidden advantage, or open things up in some other positive/lucrative way. Vibrant Mars in Leo intensifies your drive to take yourself to the next level up. Reach for the best, better your personal best. Past mid month, the roll is much easier, pleasure, social activity, romance, and satisfaction is on the upswing. Now to mid December, give it full throttle.
VIRGO (Aug 22 – Sept 21)
Saturn’s entrance out of Virgo and into Libra can signal the beginning of a new personal chapter, one that helps you to stay on the even keel. You should be able to keep better focused and better disciplined; Saturn in Libra helps you to be more discriminating, especially when it comes to what and who is worthy of your time, heart, and dollars. If options are narrowed, know that what you are left with is the best of the batch and appreciate that universe has simplified things for you. With Pluto in Capricorn situated in the most empowered position of your chart, know your newly found ability to take charge and make it happen for yourself is your strongest fall-back play. Mars in Leo (to June 2010) will continue to build your internal confidence and will help you to resource more of your best self (what’s naturally inside you.) Progressively, you’ll see that really do know yourself much better now, this because of all that you have weathered in recent years. Pluto in Capricorn wants you to stop surviving or making due, and to start thriving instead. The Saturn/Pluto square (through mid month) will prompt you to spend more time considering exactly what that last sentence means for you. The first two weeks of the month can find you working toward a significant finish line or project completion. Your opinions – of others, and of what it takes to get yourself to the next level – are likely to undergo a significant metamorphosis now. Challenges can stack up one after another, but even so, significant progress is likely to be realized. Nov 10, 11, 14, 23 – to end of the month, are synchronistic dates for action taking. Watch for good connections/links, significant improvement, surprise opportunity, hidden potentials re a key relationship (sibling, friend, partner or client), an important financial transaction, a public or social event, or a synchronistic moment. Those born Sept 19 – 21 can feel the effects of the Saturn/Pluto opposition more strongly.
LIBRA (SEPT 22 – OCT 22/23)
Saturn’s dip into Libra can be especially draining for those born close to Oct 22. Pace your physical output as best you can. This first two weeks of the month could find you especially challenged by a deadline, an endpoint of significance, or the added pressures of organizing and of planning ahead. You may have to concentrate harder to keep your boundaries in place, especially with a particular family member. Then again, perhaps your present challenges are not hardships but simply part of your ambitious climb. Now can be a great time to start your own business, to embark upon a new career path, to reposition yourself in the real estate market, or to take on the role of parenting or mentoring. Know that your present undertakings will set the platform for the next 30 years of your life. Quality over quantity is the aim. Clear away the debris and the marginal, and stick to what generates for you best. Nov 5, 10, 11, 14, 15, and 23 – 30 offer advantage; you can make productive improvements and see good stride made re schedules, work habits or routines, applications, health and exercise regimes, studies, financial matters. From the new moon Nov 16 forward, watch for creativity, social pleasures and romance (especially new) to fire up quite nicely.
SCORPIO (OCT 22/23 – NOV 21)
Saturn’s sign change suggests the time is now ripe to get to work on that new project or personal goal that’s been in the back of your mind for some time. Saturn’s square to Pluto intensifies your ambitions (and your impatience too) to turn it around for yourself in some significant way. It may be time to cut back on entertainment expenses or on work hours, or to pull back from an overly active social life to address your personal priorities. A particular relationship or health issue could consume extra attention or slow you down now too. Now through the beginning of April takes you through an incubation, negotiating, or hashing it out phase. While things are in the works, you may want to keep it tucked away and out of full sight until you have more to show for yourself or until you have figured it out better. Overall, Scorpio month could prove to be opportunity rich. Set yourself free, explore new potentials, embrace new love, and relish reinventing your life in whatever way it shapes up for you. Nov 1, 2 can put you under added pressure, rev you or rile you, find you forced to make a move, to defend yourself or restate your formal position. Nov 4, 5, tackle important talks, negotiations, financial matters, or make arrangements. Nov 10, 11, 14 – 18 can be good come together dates. The Scorpio new moon Nov 16 can launch yet another abundance or opportunity cycle and bodes well for creativity, romance, delight through your children, and for public exposure too. Of course, this new moon could also signal the start of a spending spree. Nov 23 through the beginning of December is a high-energy, “happening” cycle, one that can deliver well.
SAGITTARIUS (NOV 21- DEC 21)
Whether to do with get-ahead ambitions, creative undertakings, repair from recent health, material/professional, or relationship challenges, start of the month is likely find you deeply submerged in your own regaining ground or forging ahead process. Stay focused on your next steps, do what you can and don’t let your attention be abducted by things beyond your immediate control. Prompted by circumstance, Saturn’s entrance into Libra suggests that you are about to outgrow a particular reasoning or justification pattern that has held you back – in some cases, unconsciously or unwittingly so. You may feel it’s time to end a particular lost liter alliance, role, project, job, or friend. In this regard, Saturn’s advance can be a helpful letting-go and moving past influence. Uncertainty will progressively diminish as more of the puzzle fills in for you. Know that more consistent progress lies ahead. Those of you who have been challenged by the lack of suitable job placements or investment prospects will be happy to know that more lucrative financial potentials can open up for you now. Nov 1 – 15 can be a time to put yourself in research or observation mode. Seize opportunity, follow synchronicity, chat them up, negotiate, let it pour out of you, Nov 10, 11, 24 – 28. Look to Mercury’s advance into Sagittarius (Nov 15 – Dec 5), along with the new moon on Nov 16 and the sun’s entrance into your sign on Nov 21 to signal an energized second wind or fresh start time. Thanksgiving’s stars are vibrant; enjoy, enjoy.
CAPRICORN (DEC 21 – JAN 19)
Your sign is getting a mega-dose of stellar infusion now. Saturn’s entrance into Libra can bring you to a pinnacle of professional or personal achievement. Now that you have gotten this far, what’s next? Rather than stop to enjoy your present rewards, your attention is likely to be hijacked by what is required of you next and what you can sense is lurking on the horizon. The now is just a quick pit-stop refuel moment. There is more to be accomplished, and yet more to strive toward. Your physical stamina could be challenged, but your ambition simply isn’t ready to take a rest, at least not while the Saturn/Pluto square is active (through Nov 15, but note your marathon run will continue well beyond.) Even though it has been a long time coming, you have only just arrived at the starting gate. Everything that has come before can be considered as a practice run or practicum; consider the evolving now as your real “day one”. In fact, whether you rework what you have already built, or whether you decide to take a risk on an altogether new direction, it is a wonderful time for personal, professional and lifestyle reinvention. Watch Nov 10/11 for an “ah, ha” or opportune moment. These “genius at work” dates could help you to find important information, make a great score, or to make a connection with someone or something that could be just the ticket. Of course, these dates could simply deliver a good time to socialize or attend a public event or live performance. Watch for clues in the days preceding the new moon Nov 16 to show you how to optimize on your next moves and projects. Mercury in Sagittarius (Nov 16) and the Sun’s advance on Nov 21 ignites your holiday spirit and finds you on a ramp up with volunteer duties and preparations for the upcoming holidays.
AQUARIUS (JAN 19 – FEB 18)
Whether you have battled it out with someone or without anyone, the Saturn in Virgo years have most likely been especially testing. Saturn in Virgo may have also been responsible for financial or health difficulties too. Saturn in Libra is a much easier transit to take. In fact, it is a confidence builder. Watch for the Saturn/Pluto square to help you push past a personal, creative, or situational impasse or stalemate. New prospects soon appearing over the horizon are sure to keep you encouraged and well engaged. It is more possible now to make significant inroads, with others, and re your self-improvement ambitions too. You should find life moves into the quality over quantity category now and that you get fuller value out of your relationships, social life, scholastic ambitions, or creative endeavors. For some, a new romance could feel like “the one”. For some, a second child could be your special reason for getting up in the morning. No matter what the particulars of your individual life, it is an important time for you to be fully present, and fully on – in other words to aim to maximize on the best of what you have to work with in the moment. Also, remember when you decide that you deserve better, that it is up to you to make it happen. The full moon Nov 2 could see a conflict of plans or priorities sort out quite smoothly, perhaps surprisingly so. Important decisions, meetings, negotiations, mergers, tests, or financial transactions could set the stage, or change it completely on or around Nov 4; Neptune’s return to direct motion can see floodgates open or find your instincts speaking louder. Mercury’s advance into Sagittarius (Nov 15) and the new moon in Scorpio (Nov 16) puts life into an even fuller swing and begins your internal clock’s countdown to the holidays. ; Key dates: Nov 1, 2 4, 5, 10, 11, 21 -29.
PISCES (FEB 18 – MAR 20)
Saturn’s entrance into Libra can prompt you to reassess a previously cherished goal. You could be on a last leg of a relationship, health, or financial challenge that has been going on for too long. Saturn in Libra will compel you to redirect your present focus and your ambitions for the future. It could be time to expand, to streamline, to cut back, or to let go. Perhaps some new consideration or opportunity will be your prompt. While Saturn traveled through Virgo’s weeding process, you have learned whom or what has been essential, or even critical to you. Some may have let you down; some may have showed up for you over and above. Saturn in Libra can limit or extend your dependency on particular people or income streams. Saturn is also a paring down or streamlining influence. Strive to create more efficiency, effectiveness, and control. With applied effort, you can get your finances and your life down to a fine science. Know when Saturn is operative, it is better to hire professional help than to rely on friends or favors, and to formalize agreements rather than to bank on promises. Saturn in Libra also suggests an appropriate time to seek advice from seasoned professionals who have proven track-records, to legitimize partnerships or positions, to join associations or groups that could further you, to restructure loans or investments, or revise your will or other legal matters. Nov 1 – 15 could see you work your way through a contract of significance (financial or karmic.) The full moon Nov 2 could bring news, social or romantic delight, or open an important door. Nov 8 – 12 could bring news, revelations, or opportunity, or move you past a stalemate or plateau. Same goes for Nov 14 – 16 (potent New Moon). Once in motion, thing are likely to fall quickly into place, synchronicity is on your side. Nov 22 – 29 can be lucrative, inspiring, encouraging, and fun. Mars in Leo will continue the priority focus on health, work and improvement programs. Key dates: Nov 1, 2, 8 – 12, 18, 23, 25, 26 – 28.
