May Forecast Overview:
May opens on a potent, emotionally-charged full moon in Scorpio. When-ever Scorpio is energized, we mine from deep within. A trine to Neptune suggests sourcing from a rich potential, from a motivation that is deep within our soul. It’s a force that cannot, and should not stay buried. Earlier in the day, Mercury in Gemini surpasses an opposition to Saturn. If you have felt stymied, stuck, held up, out of options or opportunity, you won’t be by the time this full moon comes and goes. Mercury/Saturn aims to remove whatever or whom-ever is standing in the way (including your own self doubt, resistance, etc.). The transit can make the better option more obvious. The transit can end a wait, bring you to a goalpost or finish-line; push you to take an official step or stand, or take the choice making out of your hands.
Mercury/Saturn is result generating. If you are on a search, first start with an examination from the practical, rationale and objective side, and then allow yourself to walk through the experiential side of it. That’s a matter of playing/feeling it out in your mind, or letting the circumstance do the talking, guiding, and teaching. Too, once the words are spoken, or the first step taken, it sets up the domino effect. The days that follow continue the process. By May 6, you should feel you have something good on the go.
Venus tenants Cancer from May 7 to June 5.Are you comfortable where you are? How’s your financial cushion? Is more grooming, caretaking, or nurturing in order? Venus direction attention toward home, family, real estate, food issues, and self preservation needs. Safety and security at all levels are also on the list – emotional, material, domestic, and national. Considering that Mercury and Mars (starting May 11) travel through Gemini at the same time, communications, transportation, education, immigration, currency, news, media, recording, paperwork, and legislation are also on the safety and security bucket-list.
Haven’t kept up with your fitness program? Look to Mars in Gemini, May 11 to June 24 to keep you moving. Mars in Gemini, May 11 to June 24, will also mobilize trade and commerce, currencies and social trends. Mercury in Gemini travels retrograde from May 18 (Victoria Day in Canada) to June 11. You know the drill – the cycle can play havoc with plans, progress, and all the above fore-mentioned (communications, paperwork, transportation, etc.) Noting added background influences in the days prior to and at the start of Mercury retrograde, watch for added build up and/or for something unexpected to spring up. Perhaps we’ll witness testy weather conditions, an edgy social climate, or virus making the rounds, etc. The unknown can leave us feeling vulnerable, confused or even paranoid.
To the plus, Mercury retrograde is always good for reconnecting or retracing steps; for taking time out, inward looking and/or for having another discussion with yourself. Watch for an active dream cycle, sudden flashes, and surprising insights. You tap a deeply buried memory pool (perhaps even a past life memory) that will help you to better explain yourself to yourself. Over the course of its trek through Gemini, Mercury will turn a corner with Neptune (square aspect) three times, May 9, May 28, and June 23. This is an exposure and sourcing aspect. It can energize a spiritual search or calling, and/or produce a wellspring of creativity. The transit is also of romanticizing, fantasizing, or imagination unleashed; of blurred lines; of losing our way, or losing our focus. Mercury/Neptune attunes and sets collective trends; it can open up, deepen and enrich; can also create a wave of collective disillusionment. To the plus, it can tap from a previously hidden reservoir or potential. The Mercury retrograde cycle can also put you through the paces with a key person (a sibling, friend, agent, or partner) or key circumstance.
There’s plenty of planetary action at the start of Gemini month. Venus opposes Pluto on May 21 and the sun opposes Saturn on May 22. Both transits suggest there’s something worthwhile to aim/push for/achieve someplace worthwhile to be, and/or someone of significance to engage with. On Memorial Day, Venus squares Uranus and Mar squares Neptune. It’s a good day to give in to inspirations of the moment, to freshen it up, move onto something new, and to keep it open ended.

ARIES (March 21- April 19)
Past the full moon of May 3, you should feel like you are getting someplace good, that things are shaping up more definitively and/or more lucratively for you. Use the days/the week that follows to put yourself on the plus side. The more you do, go, or involve yourself, the more you’ll gain, especially May 6.
Venus in Cancer, starting May 7 to June 5, directs more attention to home and family, also to your emotional and material comfort zones. Do you feel nourished and supported, or are you in want? Is home cozy or is it need of a touch up? Venus in Cancer can make for more attachment, emotionalism, vulnerability, or need. Personally, relationship or business wise, Venus also calls for more caretaking re personal, relationship or business matters.
As of May 11, Mars mobilizes in Gemini. You’ll feel even more driven to get your message across and/or to get your plans up and running. Even so, through May 14 you could feel like you are travelling with the brakes on, or feel the necessity to hold back when you really want to kick it up a notch. Do what you can as you can; try to maintain a reasonable speed. There’s only a short window until Mercury turns retrograde. It’s never a good idea to hurry up right before the retrograde starts, so don’t push what isn’t coming naturally. Also don’t make promises or project too far forward; take it step by step instead.
As is typical of the cycle, Mercury retrograde can cause a rethink, a revision, a repeat, or a back-track. Reconnections give you plenty to think or talk about too. A key person, perhaps a sibling, friend, neighbour, or agent can claim more of your time and attention. While May 22 and 25 there’s “stuff” to get through, the last week of the month is especially opportune for re-meets and for picking up where you left off.
TAURUS (April 20 -May 20)
Have you been biding your time, building yourself up, or working to get the ducks better aligned? Have you felt held up or held back as of late? The Scorpio full moon could produce the break or breakthrough you’ve wanted and waited for. Although there’s still plus and minus and uncertainty in the mix, the days that follow could see you make good progress.
Mars leaves Taurus for Gemini on May 11, but it won’t be up to full speed until it surpasses Saturn on May 14. Although there may be strain, pressure, or a tough negotiation, it could be just what you need to force you to open up or to move forward.
Venus in Cancer, May 7 to June 5, softens you, softens them. Perhaps you need them or they need you. A friendship can or sibling relationship can grow closer. Venus also enhances your creativity and your emotional responsiveness. Cooking or sharing meals is always a good way to heal, soothe, or repair the bond.
From May 19 to June11, Mercury retrograde takes you through a financial and relationship rethink. It’s never a good idea to start from scratch during Mercury retrograde, but you can always try again. It can be productive to reconnect with folks re job opportunities, etc. As the month advances toward the finish line, you should see prospects, relationships, and opportunity on the upswing.
GEMINI (May 21-June 21)
Feeling limited, bogged down, or worn down? Tired of waiting? Having difficulty communicating, figuring it out, or getting the message across? Freshly into Gemini at month’s start, Mercury’s building opposition to Saturn can put the squeeze on, but watch for the full moon on May 3 for a release, an unleash, a push past, or a turnaround. You’ll see more layers uncovered, more pieces fall into place, more lucrative options, and/or more up-and-rolling over the following few days. Once surpasses the Saturn checkpoint, it will turn the corner with Neptune. Due to its retrograde cycle, Mercury will tee up (square) Neptune three times, May 9, May 28, and June 23. Mercury/Neptune can put you into a flourishing creative or romantic spurt. You can a smooth operator when it comes to sales and negotiations. The pitfall with Mercury/Neptune is a tendency to impracticality or unrealistic projections, seeing what you want to see rather than what is. There are times when you may not having clarity on what’s real, viable, or where things are headed. Sometimes you simply have to go on faith.
One way or another, you’ll keep busy and on the go this month. Mars in Gemini, May 11 to June 24, is sure to be mobilizing. Before it gets up to full speed, Mars will face Saturn (by opposition on May 14.) The sun enters Gemini on May 21 and also opposes Saturn on May 22. Occurring a few days prior to and after the start of Mercury retrograde, consider both these transits as corrective reality checkpoints.
Mercury retrograde in Gemini, May 18 to June 11, can put you through a rethink, a repeat or more intensified soul searching. The start of the cycle or the days leading up to it can redirect you unexpectedly. You are wise to take a step back, to give yourself more leg room, more prep or observation time, and more breathing space. Mercury retrograde is good for resuming creative projects, marketing revisions, bringing yourself up to speed, etc. Pump up your immune system and don’t be overly casual in providing personal information or opinions. Extra attention to details, plans, involvements, security, and such is always wise during Mercury retrograde.
CANCER (June 22-July 22)
Even if it has an element of push come to shove, the full moon on May 3 can be an empowering one for you. Ambition well placed can deliver substantially. This full moon can be financially lucrative or it can see you make an important personal breakthrough or discovery. It also prompts a shift of priorities or goals. Whether you lock onto the target or it shows up unexpectedly, there’s something very worthy to shoot for.
From May 7 to June 5, Venus will tenant Cancer. This transit makes you highly sensitized to your emotions and surroundings; it also places you in a state of attraction. In harmony to Neptune on May 16, you should feel that you can go with the flow and accept what is with greater ease. Venus/Neptune can stir your compassion, your creativity, or your romantic side. It’s a good combination for gaining a sympathetic ear, so if you need more help, more slack, a favour, etc. it’s a good time to make a request. Still, remember that Mercury retrograde begins on May 19. Don’t bank on a promise. Stay hopeful, aim for what you’d ultimately like to gain, or see happen, but also keep two feet on the ground as best you can. Trust issues, misunderstandings, miscommunication or misdiagnosis is all too common during Mercury retrograde. There can be times when it is difficult to know fact from fiction or imagination. Mercury retrograde is an ideal time to do more research, to take a vacation or a time out. It can be an exceptionally creative time for you. During the cycle you may get plenty of hints and clues. Pay close attention to them. Too, don’t take risks regarding your money, your health, your heart, your passwords, security, transportation or technology. When it comes to Mercury retrograde, you are always wise to play it safe.
There’s a lot of action on your chart May 21, 22, and 24, 25. Coinciding with the US Memorial Day weekend, it can simply suggest a great get-away, social, or shake-up weekend. Stay alert for the unexpected, seize opportunity, and pump up on healthy and good for you. Anything goes.
LEO (July 23-Aug. 22)
Look to the Scorpio full moon on May 3 to break you out of a rut, a stalemate, to give you more choice or a better option, to open up the conversation, to end the wait, and/or to finally get things moving along. Regarding social, financial, or legal matters, Mars in Gemini, starting May 10, is also mobilizing. Still, Mars has something to work through between May 14 and 25. Along with Mercury retrograde which starts on May 11, know that the month will unfold in stages. You’ll discover, uncover, or learn what you need to know piece by piece. Life a process and it has its own sense of timing. As is typical of Mercury retrograde, expect for people to reappear, for minds, plans, or promises to change. Things you’ve said or done can come back at you too. While Mercury is retrograde, retrace steps and/or repeat a success. Ask more questions, double check the paperwork, don’t sign a thing unless you’ve read through everything – at least twice. If you want to back out of something, go right ahead. Follow your intuition and don’t let “should” get the better of you. Feel your way along and do what is in your best interests and what serves in the best interest of others too. It has to be win/win all the way.
VIRGO (Aug. 23-Sept. 22)
Things have a way of working out. The pacing is where it’s at. As the month opens, you are wise to take it step at a time. The Scorpio full moon and the days that follow can see you break the ice with someone or lock onto something that has given you a run for it up to now. Better solutions and options are a natural progression. Work, health, and home matters should hit a productive move-along by May 6. Use the first half of the month to gain as much ground as you can. Stay real, reasonable and practical about it. If uncertainty plagues you, take a pause.
From May 7 to June 5, Venus will tenant Cancer. This influence helps you to discover new ways to soothe, heal, nourish, and replenish, not only in context of serving or participating, but also in terms of taking better care of yourself. It’s a good transit for grooming, enhancing and for giving yourself more financial cushion. Aided by Mercury and Mars (starting May 11) in Gemini, it’s a ripe time for exploring next steps and better options. Stay focused on the here and now but keep an eye out for the future too. It’s wise to keep open ended through Mercury retrograde; May 19 to June 11 can necessitate a change of plans and/or redirect you in some unexpected way.
Mars in Gemini will also rev up it up regarding professional or legal matters. Things can get more complicated once Mercury is retrograde, so make sure you spell things out or that others outline it very clearly for you too. It’s also a good idea to allow for an easy out, to have a contingency account or a back up plan. Mercury retrograde is okay for temporary, short term, or trial runs. Don’t hesitate to get a second opinion or to seek the advice of an expert or specialist. Make sure you keep copies of everything and be prepared to submit the paperwork or request again. The cycle could also change the rules or do a shuffle on the person pulling the strings.
LIBRA (SEPT 22-OCT 22)
As of the full moon on May 3, you should start to see better results for your efforts or investment. An answer, solution, or opportunity could appear of its own accord. It can lead to something more. Perhaps an alternate option will fit the bill better.
While Venus is in Cancer (May 7 to June 5) you can enlist more sympathy or support (financial or emotional). Those in a position to make a difference can be more helpful or accommodating. Relationships with family can improve too. Having said that, there are times throughout the month when there’s working out to do.
Mars enters Gemini on May 11 but it has to work through Saturn (May 14), Neptune (May 25) and the Mercury retrograde cycle (May 19 to June 11) before it’s on the clear sail. You’ll gain the best of Mars in the middle of June, but it’s still on a good fire up for you this month. Get out and about, engage, exchange ideas, explore options, write, aim to get yourself better acquainted socially, professionally, and market wise. Travel and short getaways can be refreshing. Attend a tradeshow, conference, see a performance or concert – there’s likely to be plenty of events/choice to keep you stimulated, entertained, and/or on the go. As is typical of Mercury retrograde, you’ll reconnect with folks you haven’t seen in awhile.
Mercury retrograde can also bring inconveniences such as paperwork revisions or refilling, device replacements, vehicle, or transportation issues. There can be more steps to take re legal, immigration, or citizenship matters. You may have to revise your plans or expectations. Having outlined all that, this Mercury retrograde could be a mild one for you. (Perhaps even an opportune one.) It all depends on your chart.
SCORPIO (Oct 23~Nov 22)
The Scorpio full moon on May 3 could be a come-back or bounce back time. It is sure to get you a response or an answer. It can end a wait or a trial period, clear up a suspicion or erase the element of doubt. At the very least, it’ll get you a lot better clued in. Things can springboard, mushroom, or fall into place quite readily in the days that follow.
Whether to do with travel, romance, or financial reward, you’ll crave more adventure once Venus tours Cancer.
As of May 7 it’s time to put your feelers out, and/or to pitch to a wider audience. You could find/attract something juicy or lucrative. Venus in Cancer boosts social, romantic, and financial prospects. It’s a good creative influence too. Along with Mercury retrograde in Gemini, the month ahead could put you back in touch with family or folks who live both near and far.
Starting May 11, Mars spends six weeks front-loading finances and intimate relationship matters. Due to its retrograde tour, Mercury will spend almost eleven weeks on the same ticket. Do you have a plan B? Is it time to have “the” talk? Both transits call for a rethink, for further planning, research, or discussion. Perhaps you can’t put it off any longer – it’s a time to re-write the will, tackle the credit cards or the debt, to renew the mortgage, revise the budget, the investment strategies, etc.
Whether you are newly involved or in a committed relationship, Mercury’s retrograde tour can put you through the paces. There can be times when you are on the same page, and times when you are not. You could experience the cycle as “all over the map”, or one thing after another. Too, you may be challenged to sort out what is fact and what is fiction. If you run into problems, try not to get too far ahead of yourself, especially with worry. Avoid an unhealthy obsession. One step at a time will get you sorted out. Ultimately this concentration in the sign of Gemini is serves as a trial and error or learn-as-you-go experience. The cycle is meant to help you or to force you to create better lines of communication.
SAGITTARIUS (Nov 22 ~ Dec 21)
Have you been keeping a lid on it? Having you been working to crack the code? Is there something you have avoided or dreaded facing? Perhaps there’s a difficult discussion to have or decision to make? Mercury/Saturn and the Scorpio full moon can force it out into the open. One thing leads to another. Watch for this ambition, circumstance, or challenge to play out for a couple of days. By May 6 you should feel you are getting someplace good.
Starting May 7, Venus in Cancer can enhance finances or relationship bonds, but you’re still on a correction or development curve through the third week of the month.
Mars in Gemini can rev up partnership matters, your social life, or your competition. A new relationship can hit it off right off the bat. A relationship that is strained could see more open conflict with this placement. Of course, there’s also the Mercury retrograde “round and round” to contend with. On the other hand, another conversation, try, or a repeat could do the trick quite well. You may not know for sure where things are leading until you land. Either way, once Mercury retrograde is out of the way, you’ll have gained a much better sense of direction.
CAPRICORN (Dec 22 ~ Jan 19)
Have you been biding your time or building up to something? Coinciding with the full moon on May 3, Mercury’s opposition to Saturn takes the brakes off and/or launches you on your way. You should make good progress in the days that follow, perhaps even more than you were aiming for.
Venus in Cancer, May 7 to June 5, will now cozy up in your social sector. For the most part, you should find that folks warm up to you right away and that you can enlist help and support more easily. There’s a trick in knowing how to ask – you have to agree with yourself that you have a legitimate right or purpose in doing so. This Venus transit is good for adding a friendly or personal touch to business involvements or activities. On another note, a project or someone close to you may need more care-taking.
As of May 19 when Mercury goes retrograde, your good intentions where others are concerned can get derailed or misinterpreted. It is important to stay observant and to watch for the signals; to read between the lines, their body language, etc. Mercury retrograde can also cause a work or a health backtrack. Is your website mobile friendly? Upgrades or repairs can be an inconvenience but necessary. As is typical of the cycle, Mercury retrograde can ding you time-wise or financially.
AQUARIUS (Jan 20 ~ Feb 18)
Start of the month, the Scorpio full moon can break you out of a rut or a stalemate. You may or may not have full control, but at least you’ll be in the better know. A circumstance could play itself out and/or take the choice/decision out of your hands. From the look of the stars, no matter how it goes, it puts you on the plus side. By May 6 you should feel things are moving along well.
Starting May 7, Venus in Cancer calls for better self care. Aim to get yourself better acquainted, familiarized, situated or secure. Start with your own comfort zone and build it from there. What soothes, nourishes, or comforts you will benefit those around you too.
Watch for Mars in Gemini, May 11 to June 24, to get you up and out of your chair. You’ll now enter a more active physical and social cycle. The head, the heart, and the wallet will get mobilized too. This is one of your best Mars placements, so by all means, go, do, be, sell, buy, see, be seen, flirt, etc.
As is typical of Mercury retrograde, expect to reconnect with folks you haven’t seen for awhile. Still, plans made need to be changed, conversations may need to be revisited, or more money may need to be dished out. Too, you could change your mind about someone or something. Pay close attention to the details, don’t skim over anything, double-check everything, back up your computer, etc. When it comes to Mercury retrograde, I’m sure you know the drill.
PISCES (Feb 19 ~ March 20)
The start of the month can set you free or let you off the hook. It could unleash you (or it) too. Thanks to the Scorpio full moon on May 3, something or someone could have a potent influence or effect on you. The exciting, lucrative, or juicy could overtake you. Among the range of possibilities for this full moon and the week that follows, a professional contract, real estate deal or legal matter could come to fruition, or at least it can see significant action. Perhaps there will be news. A speculative venture could net a great pay-off. Depending on how the full moon hits your chart, it could hold enough sway to redirect your life in some significant way. Mercury’s opposition to Saturn May 3 could end a wait or see you make a breakthrough with someone of significance to you. The days that follow can see you cover a lot of good ground. If none of the above happens, the first weekend of the month will simply keep you completely submerged right where you are.
Venus in Cancer, May 7 to June 5, can boost your creativity, earnings, and love life potentials. It also serves to enhance the bonds with your kids and loved ones. The transit urges you to a give-yourself-a-hug/love-yourself-more too. So long as you don’t go too overboard with frivolous spending, more self-pampering is definitely a good thing to do!
Mars in Gemini, starting May 11, and Mercury retrograde in Gemini, starting May 18 will keep you busy with home, family, visits, visitors, etc. It’s never a good idea to sign a contract or to start a renovation project during Mercury retrograde, but you can’t stop life. If you need to sign a lease, apply for credit, etc. etc. short term, temporary or interim measures are best if you can manage it. Give yourself an easy out, have a back-up plan, check all the parts and pieces, do a test run, and save the receipt in case you need to return it. Note that Mars in Gemini can ignite (or re-ignite) a conflict with a family member, friend, neighbour, etc., but sometimes things have to be said. The month ahead is for working through it. Appreciate that there are steps and stages, that it’s an unfolding process, and ease your way along.
