June Overview:
Mars ended an 11 week retrograde cycle on May 19. Ceres ends her 13 week retrograde cycle on June 1. Outside of a dip into Scorpio (Feb 4 to Mar 21) Both have been travelling through the sign of Libra, Mars since last December, Ceres since last November. (Ceres in Scorpio: Feb 4 to Mar 21) It has been a critical time for matters to do with all Libra themes – diplomacy, justice, equality, politics at the national and personal levels, social rights, trends, etc.
No doubt you have been working your way through a significant relationship issue, whether that’s with another or yourself. Perhaps the karmic implication or recall has not been lost on you. Ceres is a regenerative influence that is quite similar to Pluto. She requires a journey to the dark side in order to be reborn into the light. Ceres confronts and resurrects in order to reclaim. This Ceres transit is one of the reasons that you may have felt so triggered or done-in by experiences that you might otherwise have gone with less notice, less reaction; that you might have taken in better stride.
The benefit of both Mars and Ceres in retrograde in the same sign at the same time has served to drive the point home in undeniable fashion. The next part is to take action on the knowledge and experience that has been gained. Travelling together in retrograde, Mars and Ceres have aimed to make the issues and the opportunities starkly obvious so that you can’t miss seeing what you are supposed to see. All retrograde cycles serve to create a wider degree of separation from the immediacy of the moment, this in order to shift the viewfinder so that we have an ability to observe from a changed vantage point, with a new lens or perspective. The main thrust aims to stimulate a new listening and a new dialogue. Mars continues in Libra through July 25, Ceres continues in Libra through Aug 6. From this point forward, Mars and Ceres will switch the program from reconciliation with the past to reconciliation with the present.
Freshly into Taurus at the start of June, Venus, the current ruler of the transiting north node, is also a major contributor to the forward march. Venus gives us more to work with, makes whatever you have or whatever you face more substantial and valuable.
Mercury has just dipped into Cancer. It won’t travel too far into the sign, but it is likely to hit deep water right off the bat. Mercury in Cancer begins retrograde on June 7; Neptune in Pisces begins retrograde on June 9. Watch for something unforeseen to open up or to open you up. To the plus, it could make you or them more receptive. On the flipside, you could find yourself more vulnerable or susceptible. Let me repeat the Mercury retrograde advice: guard your health, keep safety and safeguards to the forefront, don’t bank on the potential, try not to get overly lost in the moment, don’t spill all the beans, leave yourself room to change your mind, to return it, or to back out if you want to. Double check everything. Revise, revisit, redo.
Mercury in Cancer puts added emphasis on matters to do home, family, real estate, security, safety, food, nurturance and nourishment. As of June 17, Mercury will back into Gemini. This sign switch puts added focus on all matters to do with communication, transportation, education, social trends, friends, siblings, neighbourhoods, citizenship, trading and commerce. Here in Vancouver a rotating teacher’s strike has just begun. Strikes, labour issues and work shortages are also typical of Mercury retrograde.
Mercury will complete retrograde on July 1 and finish its tour of Gemini by July 12. I am praying for the safe return of the Nigerian school girls. I also pray that the USA smartens up about gun legislation and that the killing sprees stop rather than spread.
Venus in Taurus opposes Saturn on the Sagittarius full moon June 12. A goal post, finish line, ending, or achievement of significance is likely to be reached. Venus/Saturn can also bring a money matter or contract to completion.
Jupiter in Cancer is now moving away from engagement in both the cardinal cross configuration and a water grand trine involving Saturn and Chiron. Mars continues to exert its dynamic force, forming a square with Pluto on June 14 and an opposition to Uranus on June 25. Mars in Libra will now naturally spark a new evaluation of what it means to be in relationship, to another, to the world around you, and the world inside you too. It’s all about the balancing act. Make sure to put equal emphasis on the balance and the act.

ARIES (March 21- April 19)
With Mars and Ceres retrograde out of the way, you should find you can make better use of your time and resources; that you do less skirting around and more getting around. Through July, Mars and Ceres in Libra should keep social involvements, contracts, partnership and legal matters on the upswing.
Still, there’s Mercury retrograde to contend with. From June 7 to June 17, Mercury retrograde tours Cancer. You may find that you aren’t quite finished off with the past, that there’s something more to sort out. The transit offers an appropriate time to review security, safeguards, and material bottom lines; also to review and revise as necessary regarding renovations, real estate investments, home, or family plans. A particular family member or someone from the past can tug on the heart strings. One thing leads to another. Keep the lines of communication going, and know that there are several layers to get through. Mercury retrograde in Cancer can see you revisit places and faces, even if it is only through your memories.
As of June 17 when Mercury backs into Gemini, you should find your social life picks up a pace. As is common of the retrograde, you are likely to hear from or bump into folks you haven’t interfaced with for awhile. You’ll run around more, perhaps spin your wheels more too. If it gets too complicated, put it on chill and allow for circumstances to dictate the play. The full moon on June 12 or the days following can bring a financial or relationship matter to a conclusion, or it could get the ball rolling in some major way. Mars in opposition to Uranus on June 25 can bring you to a cut-off, break-through, or line in the sand point. Do what you can as you can, stay observant, keep open-mined, and where possible, keep open-ended too.
TAURUS (April 20 -May 20)
You should see better progress in work and health related matters now that both Mars and Ceres in Libra are on the move ahead. Still it’s a delicate, perhaps even a precarious balance. Yes, there’s still more working it out to do, but so good, so far.
Venus in Taurus makes you especially sensitive to those around you and also to your body’s needs and signals. Listen up and heed the advice. Your body will tell you what it likes and what it does not. For that matter, your heart, mind, and soul will speak up more insistently too.
You may be able to enlist more help and support, or find yourself giving more of it out. Don’t get too comfy though, a relationship can flip around, especially once Mercury turns retrograde. The full moon on June 12 can be a particularly tough push come to shove/make it or break it time for relationships or financial matters. It could even be a time to say goodbye to one who is nearing transition. June 14 can bring matters to a fix or a finalization. Watch for sudden progress, insight, an unexpected opportunity, or for a kink to work itself out.
Once Mercury backs into Gemini (as of June 17) options or complications can multiply, communication wires can get crossed. You could second guess yourself or do more back peddling. Something you have said or done could come back at you, so to avoid the potential pitfalls, keep it straight earlier in the month.
GEMINI (May 21-June 21)
To July, you’ll gain the best that Mars in Libra has to offer. Along with Ceres which is also travelling through Libra (to August) you should find that those “create it” ambitions generate well. Good communication, same page accord is on a ready tap, earnings, social and love life receive benefit from these two planetary influences.
Venus in Taurus reaches an opposition with Saturn on the full moon of June 12. June 7 to 14 is sure to be an action packed, one thing after another week. Watch for the domino effect and take it moment to moment. The full moon can bring a contract, bid, project, trip, or relationship track to completion or major threshold crossing. Everything changes – and fast tracks from here.
Through June 17, Mercury retrograde in Cancer puts the spotlight on finances, investments, resources, banking; on tightening up, plugging the holes; on family and home matters.
There’s more places to go, people to see, more to discuss, consider, and tackle once Mercury retrograde revisits Gemini (June 17 to July 1). Expect to run around and get around even more. Even though the full moon can bring matters to a definitive end, as is typical of Mercury retrograde, you can find yourself on a rethink, revisit, or revision.
CANCER (June 22-July 22)
You’ll see better progress on home and family matters thanks to Mars and Ceres now out of retrograde. Too, both planets help you to reconcile with yourself. While Mercury tours Cancer, and especially while in retrograde from June 7 to 17, your instincts and radar are likely to pick up a stronger signal. Aim to unplug from the outer world distractions as best you can. You need time to sort yourself out. There’s an active inner dialogue happening inside of you. Allow it to go where it will, to explore all the nooks and crannies. The process will help you to flush out, to flesh out, and to eventually regain your footing.
The full moon on June 12 can see you make a health, work or personal break-through. Watch for important and/or perhaps surprise news, a chance to upgrade, or a fresh work opportunity.
Mars opposes Uranus on June 25. This transit coincides with the end of school and the start of summer vacation. In addition this planetary pairing could thrust you into something unexpected to do with home, family, or career. Mars/Uranus could suddenly uproot or redirect you.
LEO (July 23-Aug. 22)
You can have better stick to it while Venus is in Taurus through June 23. This influence can increase your organization, efficiency and productivity. Then again, even though that’s the way it should go, don’t assume you can phone it in. It’s easy to slip up or to lose ground while Mercury is retrograde from June 7 to July 1st. To the plus, Mercury retrograde offers an appropriate time to review, revise or to go back over it and pick up what you missed the first time around. There’s always room for improvement. That’s the true aim of the retrograde.
Mercury’s backtrack through Gemini, beginning June 17, can shift your thinking, goal, priority, or plan. As is typical of the cycle, expect to bump into folks unexpectedly. It is an opportune transit for checking back in with clients. Take another scout around your community or social network.
The full moon on June 12 or the days following can produce something major, significant, or official. It could be an event, a milestone, a contract, a launch, arrival, or departure. What occurs could be momentous enough to redirect your future.
Cancer month, starting June 21, and Venus in Gemini, starting June 23, puts recreation and play on the front burner. Mars/Uranus in opposition on June 25 can be a great for get away or a shake-it-up, but noting that Mercury is still retrograde, added safety is advised.
VIRGO (Aug. 23-Sept. 22)
The full moon on June 12 and the days that follow bring you to a significant checkpoint, goal post, deadline, or finish line. Too, you could receive important or official news. There can be paperwork to sign, terms to discuss, or fees to pay.
Beginning in Cancer, Mercury retrograde can see you have a change of heart about someone or something. As of June 17 when Mercury revisits Gemini, it will be time to reassess goals and priorities, and to bring yourself up to speed with your changing world. People can say one thing and do another. Don’t bank on it unless you have it in writing. Mercury retrograde is always an appropriate time to renegotiate terms, a lease, or bank loan, but it is not the ideal time to lock in. By all means, continue the negotiations, but where possible, make sure you have ample choice, extra options, or an easy out just in case. While Mercury is retrograde, it is always wise to leave room for the unexpected. If you have to make a commitment, aim for short term, trial run, or temporary. June 25 or the days around it could dish up something out of the blue re expenses, finances, or a key relationship.
LIBRA (SEPT 22-OCT 22)
Mars has been firing it up for you since last December. The second half of the month brings an appropriate time to revisit a place you’ve been to previously, to welcome visitors or to be one yourself, to review education options or plans for the fall semester. Get back to writing; upgrade your website, resume, or social profile.
June 12, the Sagittarius full moon is accompanied by Venus in opposition to Saturn. The full moon can bring news, an official word, a result, a significant opportunity or investment potential. Once the full moon thrusts the switch or seals the deal, it should domino from there.
Once Mercury retrograde backs into Gemini on June 17, and Venus advances into Gemini on June 23 something new or additional can spring up. There can be another option or route to take; more to discuss, negotiate, revise, or to consider. Where possible, keep open-ended, hands-off, or non committal and watch for things to play out on their own. Mars opposite Uranus on or around June 25 can stir it up or rev it up unexpectedly. It’s a great transit for a get away or for a special event. On the other hand, it can be abrupt, inconveniencing, jarring or expensive. Be especially careful at work and at play, when handling sharp instruments or dangerous goods, on the road, with exercise, diet or health. A gamble could be tempting or warranted, but don’t tempt fate with a foolish risk.

Chiron/Saturn helps you to reconcile with your reality in a grounded way, to keep to your own wise counsel, to navigate your way through your challenges or disappointments with added grace, to resource strength, stamina, talent, or ambition you didn’t know you had, to cope with the less than ideal, to heal from the past, to take what’s on the inside and to give it legitimacy. Chiron/Saturn can also put added emphasis on an aging or wounded parent or elder, a mentor, or authority figure.
