April Overview:
The Personal Planets: Mercury, Venus, Mars:
The personal planets are on the move this month. Mercury is fresh out of retrograde but continues in Pisces to April 16. There is more clearing away to do, but as of April 2 Mercury moves on a new wave-length with Neptune, this regarding the soundscapes of the collective and also of your individual soul. Consider it also as a fresh fishing expedition for that which has alluded clarity so far, for the ultimate answer, solution or opportunity.
Serving this agenda, Venus tours Pisces, the sign of its exaltation. Tapping a creative/sensory wellspring, this is a response rich, resources-rich, potentials-rich transit. On April 9 (April 10 depending on your time zone), Venus aligns with Neptune in Pisces (new phase conjunction). In combination with a cluster of other transits, these few days could produce a watershed collective moment. England has just rejected Teresa May’s Brexit deal for the third and final time. The EU has set England’s deadline for April 12 and will hold an emergency meeting on April 10, the day Jupiter stations retrograde and the Aries sun squares Saturn
Mars launched into Gemini just before the start of April and will continue to mobilize the conversation, trading, and trends, or wage combat re such through the middle of May. Still attempting to track down the elusive/the missing key, by April 27, Mars hits an action trigger/springboard with Neptune (square aspect). If it is of worth, it will hit a positive mobilization and growth track. If the base is weak or built on a mirage, it will not support the creative process; it will lose steam and falter.
Ceres in Sagittarius, Jupiter in Sagittarius, Pluto in Capricorn, and Saturn in Capricorn turn retrograde:
Ceres and Jupiter spend most of 2019 in Sagittarius. They begin retrograde tours just under a half day of each other: Ceres retrograde begins April 9 (9:27 pm PDT); Jupiter retrograde begins April 10 (10 am PDT). It is down to the wire time for Brexit. Both transits serve to change the course regarding the future and its prospects. Both also divert the attention off one target/issues and onto another (or several others). The singular or the one becomes the several, the many, or the multi-faceted.
Coinciding with these two retrograde launches, the sun in Aries severs ties/cuts free/liberates from Saturn in Capricorn’ rule on April 10. A singular one takes the lead. The new super-cedes the old/the past. There is a new format, a new reality and what is left behind that no longer controls or dictates. On the stroke of midnight April 12, England is no longer a member of the EU. April 13, the sun in Aries turns a corner with Pluto. What is given life is absolute regarding the altering of the reality base. April 14 (Palm Sunday), the sun trines Jupiter and Venus is on a creative track with Pluto. The following day (April 15) Venus is on an enhancement and increase track with Jupiter.
At the start of the month, Pluto (in direct motion) is the lead draw for the karmic axis. Something has to change/to be reformatted. This is a dial it up/pull it apart/dismantle and reformat it mandate. Pluto turns retrograde on April 24, on April 28, Saturn stations retrograde, and takes the lead with the karmic axis. (it’s a subtle shift. Saturn and Pluto remain a tight team through this year and most of 2020). Saturn retrograde is a refortify it from within transit. Saturn retrograde breaks down the conditioning patterns that justify/rationalize maintaining the old or the status quo. It also suggests those in control or dictating the play have less hold over our own judgement or authority. Saturn retrograde prompts you/us to not rely on the dictates but to judge for self. While the reality is undergoing restructuring, the process (break it down in order make a breakthrough) has signed up for a time extension via the retrograde.
Mercury into Aries, Venus into Aries, Sun into Taurus & Easter/Passover Weekend:
Good Friday (April19) coincides with a full moon at the very last (anaretic) degree Libra before heading into Scorpio to oppose Uranus. Passover (April 20) coincides with the sun’s entrance into Taurus and the ruler of Taurus, Venus, advancing into Aries a few hours later. These transits set up an ideal backdrop for taking a break. On the other hand, the days prior to, including, and following the long weekend keep the action dialed up. This is thanks to Mercury, freshly into Aries (as of April 16) and conjunct Chiron on April 18/19, the sun’s conjunction with Uranus hitting a fresh spark on April 22, and Venus conjunct Chiron on April 22/23. Whether you experience these transits as confronting, unleashing, or opportune, the result is a fresh take away. Subtle or obvious, a karmic theme/undercurrent is in play.
ARIES March 19/20 – April 19
Its an interesting playing field this month. By the time Mercury and Venus get up and rolling in Aries, the sun is finishing up in your sign. Not only that, but four of the major players turn retrograde as the month advances. It is near impossible to play it safe, to avoid some scrapes and bruises.
April 2, Mercury and Neptune in Pisces move to a next phase in their search for the worthiest of prospects. Mars is freshly at it in Gemini and will continue to provide plenty of stimulus to keep you going through this month and most of next. On the other hand, it is possible to spin wheels without getting anywhere too.
Chiron, the healing crisis and/or maverick archetype, is just at the start of its long tour through Aries. You can feel its destiny-at-play impact on the following key trigger dates (especially so if your birthday falls on or near March 24): April 7 to 10, 19, 20, 22 to 24. You’ll also feel Chiron’s effects if you were born in 1948/49, 1968/69, or 1970-72.
Good Friday delivers a full moon at the very last (anaretic) degree of Libra. Easter Monday/Earth Day is accompanied by the sun’s meet up with Uranus. Beyond a well-timed long weekend, watch for the stars to stir it up. Opportunity comes in all shapes and sizes.
TAURUS April 19 – May 20
Did you lose steam last month while Mercury toured retrograde? As of April 2, Mercury is on a creative upswing. Venus is too. There’s plenty of opportunity sprinkled throughout April. Even so, it is a mixed bag month. There are times to ease your way along and times to fire it up. Go by feel and seize your moments as they appear.
Mars has just left Taurus, but it will continue to keep you walking and talking while the action planet tenants Gemini (to the middle of May). To the plus, Mars in Gemini can stimulate a fresh idea or fresh interest. Resourcefulness and the ability to think on your feet is a benefit of this transit. It can dish up more prospects and options for you to choose from. Mars can give you another chance at it. It can be time to double up, duplicate or renew.
Ceres turns retrograde on April 9, Jupiter turns retrograde on April 10, and near the end of the month both Pluto and Saturn also begin retrograde (April 24, April 28 respectively). In combination, they suggest there is wisdom in non attachment to expectation. Opportunity is found via independence initiatives and deciding for yourself. By all means, go with the natural flow but don’t get lazy about it. Make sure to stand present and advocate for yourself to the best of your ability. Having said that, you’ll have help from Aries trigger points throughout the month. Once the sun leaves Aries (April 20), both Mercury and Venus will log-on to the Aries straight shoot. Put will into action and there’s no stopping you!
GEMINI May 20 – June 20
April opens with Mars freshly into Gemini. You should feel it as a welcome energy top-up, especially if you have lost focus or steam while Mercury toured retrograde in Pisces. Mercury continues swimming in Pisces through April 16 and Venus does the same through April 20. Both stir up career and creative potential, but it is up to you to net the resources they offer. These transits are well used to enhance your marketing, social and public profile and to get in the good books with those in positions of power.
Mars in Gemini provides good stimulus. This transit will keep you active (physically, socially and intellectually) through most of May.
Ceres in Sagittarius turns retrograde on April 9. Jupiter in Sagittarius turns retrograde on April 10. Both transits shift the momentum/the direction regarding a future prospect, key relationship, contract, social involvement and/or something that is already in the works. You (or they) can have a change of mind or heart. You can hear it or feel it in different way. Beliefs or the interest level can shift. Questioning continues. Both planetary switches suggest more time, development, exploration, or research is necessary before you get/it gets up to full steam ahead. Ceres turns direct mid July, Jupiter in mid August. The duo will finally meet in October.
While both Mercury and Venus fire up in Aries in the second half of the month, by the end of April, both Pluto and Saturn will begin their retrograde tours. The switch is one from outer focus to inner and personal focus, and of creating a greater degree of separation between you and it. While you may only be able to get so far with the outer world, the personal planets, Venus, Mercury, and Mars, prompt you to step forward for yourself. You are your best resource. Concentrate on getting your act together. The strong, better, healthier you are (mentally, emotionally, spiritually) the more effective you can be in meeting the world head on.
CANCER June 20 – July 22
The future continues to hold uncertainty, but don’t let that stop you. Keep aspiring, keep on the lookout. Mercury continues in Pisces to April 16, Venus continues in Pisces to April 20. Both help you to entertain possibility with greater ease. Your creativity receives benefit from both transits, and from Neptune in Pisces too. The trio can also stimulate romantic potential.
No doubt the recent Mercury retrograde cycle has taken you through a soul-searching review. Mercury surpasses Neptune on April 2. Venus surpasses Neptune on April 9. Watch for both transit triggers to pull back a veil or to open-up more. Better clarity, conviction and know-how – it is a process and it develops over time.
Just as soon as you think you have a good handle on it or know where its going, Ceres in Sagittarius turn retrograde (April 9). Jupiter in Sagittarius turns retrograde a day later (April 10). Both planets require you to shift expectations, put more into it, or to go in search of a better solution, option, teacher, agent, study program, or job.
Coinciding with the start of Ceres and Jupiter retrograde, the sun is at war with the resistance, hurdle or road block, with Saturn on April 10 and Pluto on April 13. A new reality sets in to play. This cluster of transits will force the issue in some significant way. What is meant to be will be. Mercury in Aries (as of April 16) and Venus into Aries (as of April 20) continue to push you to break new ground/dive into something new.
Good Friday coincides with a full moon at the very last degree of Libra. Whether you observe Easter, Passover or not, a long weekend is well timed. Finishing out the month, Pluto turns retrograde on April 25, Saturn turns retrograde on April 29. Reprioritize. Shift expectations regarding others. Take on a do-it-yourself project.
LEO July 22 – August 22
April opens with Mercury retrograde now out of the way but continuing in Pisces to April 16. Venus also travels through Pisces to April 20. Of influence regarding money and matters of heart, both transits keep potentials on brew, but they also keep uncertainty going strong too. The best you can do is to go by feel and the natural flow. Engage, speak up, and act when the moment feels right.
The sun in Aries (to April 20) and Mars, freshly into Gemini (through May 15) will keep motivation going strong, this despite four major planets turning retrograde: Ceres in Sagittarius, April 9, Jupiter in Sagittarius April 10, Pluto in Capricorn April 24, Saturn in Capricorn April 29. When the moment gives you the signal, don’t hesitate to explore new options and/or to take on something or someone different. In the first half of the month, Ceres and Jupiter retrograde facilitate the sun on a dynamic track with Saturn/Pluto. Later in the month, Pluto and Saturn retrograde turn the tide and shift the momentum or priority. As an orchestra all playing their individual parts, these planetary triggers serve the evolutionary mandate – that is to force and to accelerate the breaking of new ground.Even so it is a work in progress and it will take more time. Follow the stars lead, go where there’s good life, don’t struggle with what isn’t coming naturally. Sometimes it is important to pull away, and to give it or give yourself extra leg room.
VIRGO August 22 – September 22
You can be more easily influenced or swayed while both Mercury and Venus tenant Pisces (April 16, April 20 respectively). That might or might not be such a bad thing, especially if you have been standing in your own way/if you have been blocking your own view. Both transits make you soft around the edges, especially where others are concerned.
Mars, freshly into Gemini, gives you more reason to get up and go/to explore new avenues and potentials.
Aim to dust it off in the first half of the month. Ceres in Sagittarius turns retrograde on April 9, the same day that Venus and Neptune pool resources. Jupiter in Sagittarius turns retrograde on April 10. This cluster of transits can prompt a change of heart, shift your emotional perceptions, and open you up to more. You can make good progress in the week that follows. April 14 to 16 transits dish up a good few days for taking your best shot.
Good Friday coincides with a full moon in the very last degree of Libra. Holiday weekend is ideal for a change of pace. April 22, 23, hit it full swing. Pluto begins a retrograde tour on April 24, Saturn begins its retrograde tour on April 29. Another check in with yourself is wise. Use these transits to strengthen the core, refortify the foundation or to re-prioritize. The retrograde cycles also suggest more the need to put in more time before you see the results you are aiming for.
LIBRA September 22 - October 22
Mercury and Venus in Pisces can keep you swamped or lost in it for a few more weeks. Both transits are well used for creative projects, marketing, spiritual re-balancing, soul searching and/or taking more time out to heal physically or emotionally.
It is important not to count the chickens too early or assume that everything is par for the course as four major planets will reverse direction. Once Ceres and Jupiter turn retrograde, you’ll hear it, see it or take it in differently. Pluto and Saturn retrograde can shift the requirements, priorities, foundation, or formula. (Ceres in Sagittarius turns retrograde April 9, Jupiter in Sagittarius turns retrograde April 10, Pluto in Capricorn turns retrograde April 24, Saturn in Capricorn turns retrograde on April 29.)
Kick-starting the holiday long weekend, Good Friday coincides with a full moon at the very last degree of Libra. Easter Monday (or Earth Day if you prefer) coincides with a sun/Uranus conjunction. A temporary switch of pace or get away is well timed. While the sun takes an exit out Aries, both Mercury and Venus are freshly fired up in this sign. The last two weeks of the month moves onto a next phase or track. Watch April 20 and 22, 23 for something a bit crunchy, abrupt, or sidetracking.
SCORPIO October 22 - November 21
Mercury is done retrograde at the month’s start, but it will continue in Pisces through April 16. For the most part, it will keep you/keep it in a good creative flow. You’ll get the best Venus in Pisces has to offer too (through April 20). April 2 and April 9, 10, stay open-ended, go by feel, and let the moment or the potential reveal itself.
While both Mercury and Venus in Pisces keep uncertainty going, nothing is sitting still. April 9 through the full moon in Libra on April 19 keeps you/it on the move-along. Ceres and Jupiter are travelling in Sagittarius and turn retrograde within a twelve-hour period (April 9, April 10). Both are on a search for more and better. Tune out and tune in, an inner perception/an inner dialogue is vying for your attention. It is up to you to log-on to it and to apply the message. Along with Pluto in Capricorn and Saturn in Capricorn also turning retrograde later in the month (April 24, April 29) it can be time to reformulate the game plan, to consider another or additional step, route, or avenue. Aim to strengthen the core, realign yourself, and to build it better from the inside out rather than the other way around. Essentially, although each of four planets turning retrograde this month all have their individual agendas to accomplish, they are also a coordinated bunch. They offer you an extended time (end of summer through the end of the year) to reposition yourself and/or get the foundation laid before you head out the door again.
If you can turn a four-day weekend into a five-day weekend, all the better! You may not be in the mood to put up with it or them on April 18. Good Friday/April starts the holiday long weekend on a full moon in the very last degree of Libra. Heading into Scorpio as you pour your morning cup of java, the transiting moon puts you in charge through Passover on April 19. The end of the long weekend finishes on an energized note thanks to the Taurus sun conjunct Uranus lighting a fresh spark on April 22.
SAGITTARIUS November 21 – December 21
Spring has sprung and Mercury retrograde is just out of the way. Still, getting up to full speed can take more time. Mercury completes with Neptune on April 2, but it doesn’t finish with Pisces until April 16. Venus is also in Pisces (through Passover, April 20). While it can be difficult to tell where its going or what your best options are, both Venus and Mercury are in a potent seeding or staging phase from April 2 to 9.
Ceres spends the better portion of the year in Sagittarius, as does Jupiter. Both turn retrograde within 12 hours of each other, first Ceres on April 9, then Jupiter on April 10. Something you sense or experience could mark a significant turning point. Watch for something to slip out or to clue you in to something you didn’t expect. These transits can remove a block, sidetrack you, or see you move in a direction/pull you into something you didn’t anticipate. You may find you aren’t as far along as you thought you were or that you have more to do before you get it/get yourself sorted out. If so, use the learning/the moment as an opportunity to fill in what’s missing.
The sun takes an exit out of Aries on April 20 but both Mercury (April 16) and Venus (April 20) take over the reins. Aries is one of your better signs for an energy boost and going strong at life in general, but both planets meet with planetary friction, Mercury on April 18, 19 and Venus on April 22, 23. These transits bookend the holiday long weekend which warehouses the full moon in Libra on April 19 and a sun/Uranus conjunction on Easter Monday/Earth day. It’s an ideal set up for taking a break from the world for a short spell. If you run into relationship turbulence, see it as a chance to clear away what’s been bottled up and to get it moved to higher ground.
CAPRICORN December 21 - January 20
April opens with Mercury freshly out of retrograde but still swimming in the deep end of Pisces. As of April 2, Mercury is onto something new, but it won’t be out of Pisces until April 16. Along with Venus also in Pisces and moving onto a new creative track with Neptune on April 9 and not out of Pisces until April 20, expect circumstances, ideas, and conversations to continue in a state of flux through mid month. Even so, you will see it/feel it shaping up in increments right from the month’s start.
Mars, freshly in Gemini, gives you more to consider, try, to work on or to work out. Self employed? Mars in Gemini could keep your phone ringing. In general, watch April 16 to 24 for things to “go pop”, for sudden inspiration to hit, a turning of the tides, a fresh choice, option, sidetrack, or key someone to set wheels in motion. Destiny is at play.
April 9 to 15 are action packed. Ceres in Sagittarius turns retrograde on April 9, Jupiter in Sagittarius turns retrograde on April 10. Along with the sun in Aries on a breakthrough point with Saturn in Capricorn on April 10 and Pluto in Capricorn on April 13, expect to move past a significant roadblock and to face new prospects/a new reality. These transits are opportune, so when opportunity appears, take the ball and run with it!
AQUARIUS January 20 – February 18/19
The sun in Aries and Mars in Gemini are good for an energy boost, but Mercury and Venus travelling through Pisces for the first half of April continue to keep the uncertainty going too. To the plus, these transits help you to stay creative and resourceful.
April might be on somewhat of a delayed start, but watch for April 9, 10 and the couple of weeks that follow to flip a switch and to move the block or hold up out of the way.
Ceres in Sagittarius and Jupiter in Sagittarius turn retrograde within 12 hours of each other (April 9, April 10 respectively). These two retrograde launches coincide with Venus/Neptune infusing the moment with potential, sun/Saturn on a breakthrough and Mercury/Jupiter also on an incentive drive. There could be something unexpected, sudden, or extra regarding the way things go.
A full moon at the very last degree of Libra launches Good Friday (April 19) and the holiday weekend. Passover (April 20) coincides with the sun’s entrance into Taurus and Venus (ruler of Taurus) firing it up in Aries. The long weekend completes on Easter Monday/Earth Day, with the sun/Uranus lighting a fresh spark. It’s a good weekend to switch it up. Even so, know that the stars are not taking a break. They’ll continue to work along a karmic potency track.
Pluto in Capricorn stations retrograde on April 24, Saturn in Capricorn does the same on April 29. Although a subtle switch for you personally, both transits move a wall or block out of the way and in so doing provide you access to an inner wellspring/more resources and options that are worth exploring.
PISCES February 18/19 to March 19/20
Venus is freshly at it in Pisces, the sign of its exaltation, at month’s start. It’s a wonderful transit for inspiration, creativity, romance, and spiritual pursuits. On the other hand, Mercury, just done with retrograde, is in its fall when touring watery Pisces. In other words, it isn’t a good transit for mental clarity, precision tasks, or practical decision making. However, it is a good one for dreaming, imagining, romance, and marketing.
As of April 2, Mercury is on a new track with Neptune, the ruler of Pisces. Although uncertainty continues, both Venus and Mercury keep the moment infused with exceptional creative potential. This is especially so through April 9/10 when Venus meets with Neptune. These dates and the ten days that follow hold a host of significant transits.
On April 9, Ceres in Sagittarius turns retrograde. On April 10, Jupiter in Sagittarius turns retrograde. On this same day, the creative force of the sun breaks new ground with Saturn in Capricorn. The sun carries this energy to Pluto on April 13. Pluto turns retrograde on April 24, Saturn on April 28.
What does it all spell? Things are in a state of flux; don’t under-estimate what is on brew. Take your cue from the moment. The whole month is a work in progress.
A full moon launches Good Friday and the holiday long weekend. Sun/Uranus finishes it off on Earth Day/Easter Monday. It’s an excellent weekend to switch it up and to make the most of it.
