April ~Month Overview:
Passover, April 4, coincides with a total lunar eclipse in Libra. Considering that the eclipse is in tight aspect to the Uranus square Pluto transit, this one is sure to have a significant kick to it. Watch for the catapulting effects of the eclipse anywhere from April 1 to 9, or later. Whether or not you observe Passover or Easter, April 4 to 6 are sure to produce a particularly eventful couple of days.
As I wrote in last month’s column, March 16 marked the last of 7 exact Uranus/Pluto alignments that have arced over 2012 – 2015. Rather than reach a finish-line, the transit has simply staged a preliminary deck-clearing. There’s still a lot more to come regarding the bust-up-the-concrete mandate. If your life has been subjected to something cataclysmic, then you have taken a direct hit from Uranus/Pluto. If not, then you can consider yourself fortunate. Even so, Uranus/Pluto aims to leave no stone unturned. Whether it’s already happened, it’s now or it’s later, each life will be revolutionized in some major way by Uranus/Pluto’s reinvent it mandate. It’s why we have signed up to be here now – to make an accelerated blast-through in our own understandings and creative process, and in turn to become more significant contributors to the healing and welfare of the whole. What affects one, affects all. What liberates one, liberates all.
Uranus, planet of liberation and freedom is well aligned with theme of Passover. Pluto, planet of death and resurrection is well aligned with the theme of Easter. Along with the lunar eclipse, Uranus/Pluto adds special significance to the holidays this year. Perhaps it will be one for the history books.
Eclipses are event and acceleration triggers. While after the fact you may say that you knew it was in the works, they often deliver a surprise or a jolt. A lunar eclipse sheds light on that which cannot or should not be ignored.
To remain open to re-visioning and reinvention is to your/our great benefit. You don’t have to know how to play it next. All you have to do is to stay full present and alert. Uranus in Aries now supplies your innovation tool-kit. Look to the energy of now to inspire the master creator/inventor within you.
April’s full moon lunar eclipse adds extra turbo to the Uranus/Pluto transit – and vice versa. Consider the involvement of Pluto in hard angle to the eclipse (the t-square position) as the clock striking high noon on a karmic or actual priority timetable. Uranus conjunct the eclipse sun (balsamic conjunction) aims to cut-to-the-chase, perhaps radically so. To the plus, Uranus/eclipse sun can bring the exceptional to life. This is a vibrant, lively, liberating, freeing, releasing, and race-track combo. It could produce a no-time-to-waste, take-charge, or passion-play impetuous. It could spark a genius or enlightened moment, or introduce you to your future in some striking way. On the other hand, Uranus/sun in Aries is also a sudden-burst, hard-hitting, impulsive, explosive, and wildfire influence. It could shake or shatter your reality and change everything in a flash.
Although it’s great if we can find the happy medium, the lunar eclipse will not allow fence-sitting. Libra tips the scales on the social and money matters of the day. It brings relationship conflicts to the surface. Is what you see what you get? How do you participate and still maintain your freedom and independence? Does it serve to go through the motions and to keep up appearances if you aren’t getting your own needs met? Are you enabling? Are we? The lunar eclipse in Libra brings issues of projected expectation, enmeshment, and co-dependency to a critical line in the sand. Matters of diplomacy, equality, cooperation, team-work, and fair play also grow more complicated and/or urgent. Personal, social, or political alliances can be made or broken. We’ll see movement on deadlocks, perhaps suddenly so. The recent mergers of Kraft/Heinz and Best Buy/Future Shop are examples of how the current trends are moving. Libra/Aries funnels the diverse or the many into one. Hopefully the nuclear deal with Iran will set a fresh new stage. Let’s give peace a better chance.
The effects of the lunar eclipse roll out from April 4 to 6 as both the eclipse moon and sun trigger Uranus/Pluto through a succession of contacts. Consider this like the hammer whacking the nail several times before the job is done.
You may be at the point where you can’t sweep it under the carpet any longer. You may feel that you are running out of time, money or patience. Conversely, you may feel that you have finally gathered up enough courage and steam to get yourself going. If you are in alignment with your soul, then you are likely to find yourself standing on exceptionally fertile ground, on a builder’s platform. When Pluto and Uranus are activated, resistance is futile. Should life throw a hard curve ball your way, take a moment to let the dust settle. There’s not much you can do about the past, but there’s always something you can do in the now.
The thing to remember with a lunar eclipse is that it will bring into being that which has already been in development but that has not yet gained our full or conscious attention. The eclipse is like a timer, some will consider it a time bomb. While the duration of the eclipse itself is a short one, it effects can set the long range future into play.
Now that I’ve gone on and on about the things to watch out for, let me say that there are great planetary aspects pre and post the April 4 eclipse. The moment is infused with exceptional opportunity. When it shows up – take your best shot; run with it! (April 2, 6 and 9 are good dates for getting a move-on.)
Jupiter ends retrograde on April 8. Through mid August, we’ll now gain the best Jupiter has to offer. A continuing trine relationship with Uranus encourages upgrades and innovations of all kinds. This Jupiter/Uranus transit will continue to keep social issues and politics quite lively. We’ll see plenty more out of science, technology, and the weather too. Jupiter/Uranus can also keep such matters as terrorism, radicalization, and epidemics on the move too. Through the middle of May, Mars in Taurus can see those in charge hunker down on policy.
Along with the end of Jupiter retrograde, the beginning of Pluto’s four month retrograde on April 16 can bring down a wall or move us past a remaining block, hurdle, or wait. Add the advances of both Mercury (April l4) and the sun (April 20) into Taurus and it all adds up to a greater opportunity to find what is most worthy or productive, and to build it a better way. Venus in Gemini keeps the dialogue fresh, the energy mobilized and circulating.
A final word on the eclipse: The lunar eclipse of April 4 is the third out of a short series of four total eclipses. This is known as a tetrad series. Begun in April of 2014, this series will complete with the lunar eclipse on Sept 27, 2015. This eclipse workbook has featured Aries/Libra and Venus/Mars. If you take a moment to review, you are likely to see that you have been working your way through a significant relationship or net worth/self worth chapter. This issue may have come to a half-way mark, a transition peak and/or gained your full attention in October of 2014, when the last lunar eclipse occurred. That eclipse (Oct 8) took place at 14 Aries/Libra. The lunar eclipse of April 4 occurs at 14 Libra/Aries. That culminating moment and this one are intertwined, they reflect something key. Perhaps you’ll recognize the karmic implication or threshold. It is not only a personal journey but also a collective one. As I’ve outlined throughout this intro, Venus/Mars/ and Aries/Libra advance relationship and social issues, social politics, and the monetary landscapes. Yes, there are many levels and layers to work through.

ARIES (March 21- April 19)
The sun’s trine to Jupiter on April 2 begins the month on an opportune high note. You should feel that the direction forward is designing itself. In fact, you could find yourself on a much faster move along. The lunar eclipse of April 4 can catapult you into a whole new reality related to relationships, parenting, or career matters. Something major can happen in the way of recognition, a reward, contract, legal matter, etc. Personal, romantic or professional, it can also springboard a karmic contract. What comes into being now is just the start of so much more to come. Act for today but think long range, long term. Relationships can be strained on Passover and Easter Sunday. You can feel pulled by too much and too many, but even so, the sun in Aries keeps the ball in your court. April 6 begins a great get-ahead week.
Jupiter in Leo ends retrograde on April 8. Through mid August, you’ll gain the best Jupiter has to offer. Jupiter in Leo is a live-and-prosper, creative wellspring transit. It only comes around once every twelve years – make sure to harness it for all its worth. Take that fire ball called your creative center and to toss into the stratosphere. Jupiter in Leo urges you to have an affair with your heart – to go out for love – self love, heart’s love, selfless love, higher love. The sun in Aries perfects a trine Jupiter on April 2. Mercury in Aries perfects a trine with Jupiter on April 6. Even better yet Uranus in Aries maintains a trine relationship with Jupiter all the way through July. It’ll keep your mojo going strong. These transits gift you but it is always up to you to take the action. Jupiter in Leo puts your offspring on the opportunity gift list too. You can see them grow beautifully. They can grow beyond you too!
Something quite substantial fires up right from the get-go this month. By the time you get to mid month, you’ll have lit enough of the pilot light. Once Mercury enters Taurus on April 14, Pluto turns retrograde on April 14, and the sun enters Taurus on April 20, it’s time to take what you already have, to mold it, shape it, grow it, and let it earn its worth.
TAURUS (April 20 -May 20)
It’s been a long time in the works, but you’ll gain good ground now. The lunar eclipse of April 4 sets you up for a significant attitude or reality shift. Yes, the future is defining itself much more clearly than it did just a short while ago. Experience, your past, your history – it’s all on your side. The greatest advantage this eclipse provides is in helping you to make full use of what you have learned so far. Consider it a major leg up.
Whether it’s to do with a money investment, education, a career track, a relationship, a major health or lifestyle overhaul, the now is especially well timed for putting the long term into play. April 1, 2, 6, and 9 are especially opportune for planning, talks, broadcasting, reaching out, etc.
The eclipse can pull back a curtain, clear something unexpected away, or add expense. Make sure to stay on top of work, health, transportation, and safety matters. If something should erupt, consider it as an opportunity to get it quickly cleared away. Stay cooperative, use diplomacy, give benefit of the doubt; consider all advice. A short-cut could spell improvement but make sure you know what you are getting into first. Don’t accept second hand at face value. Too, don’t pass on information if you aren’t well acquainted with its source.
Through mid May, Mars in Taurus keeps you pumped full of can-do. The end of Jupiter retrograde on April 8 can increase your confidence, creativity, and success ratio. Venus leaves Taurus on April 11, but it will continue to set fertile conditions for the money chase and the learning curve.
By the week of April 20, you should feel like that life is coming along just fine.
GEMINI (May 21-June 21)
One way or another, the lunar eclipse will put you in the know. Despite the pumped up intensity that comes with the eclipse, the long weekend is a good one for pleasure seeking and blowing off extra stream. There’s great, perhaps even exceptional promise, potential, or luck in this one. News or opportunity could come your way just before or just after the weekend. A surprise portal or door could open. The eclipse could jettison you across a major threshold; perhaps you’ll catch wind of a lucrative prospect. This eclipses is of such dynamic impact, it’s possible that your goals, life, money or relationship status could be overhauled overnight. Too, someone or something new could make a big impression on you. There’s a first time for everything, this one could be major. The above is more likely if the transits make a direct contact to your birth chart. If not, it’ll still be a stand-out weekend.
The end of Jupiter retrograde on April 8 helps you to plug back in socially. Scout around, you’ll find more and better options are now available. Jupiter direct can increase sales or financial potentials, but it can see you spend more too, especially on transportation or travel, communication devices, education, etc.
Start or launch as much as you can in the first half of the month. It’ll carry you through and give you plenty to work with the second half.
CANCER (June 22-July 22)
Resistance is futile. To go for it with everything you’ve got, it is to play it smart. Take aim, put courage to work, and watch how far it gets you. If you have worked consistently on earning your karmic coins, the lunar eclipse in Libra could tip the scales in your favour. You can go from one extreme to another, seemingly in the blink of an eye. The momentum of the lunar eclipse could jettison you into a new professional, financial, or personal life status, perhaps unexpected so. It’s an opportune time to launch a business venture, to make a real estate move, to start a family, to lighten your overhead and/or free yourself from the going-nowhere hamster wheel. Whether an agreement or judgement is reached, it’s thrown out or you ditch it yourself, the eclipse could bring a long standing legal matter to a head. Too, the eclipse could see you take on added responsibility. Even if you don’t have a choice it is most likely it’s for a very worthy cause. There are important decisions to make, pros and cons to weight. The right direction forward should be one that is too obvious to ignore. It’s always best to pick the race horse.
LEO (July 23-Aug. 22)
If you can ditch the work, you’ll certainly make full use out of the holiday weekend. It couldn’t be better timed. If you have to work (especially if your work involves the public) brace yourself for an onslaught.
Noting that Uranus and Pluto are activated by the eclipse, watch for folks to be especially short on patience. Added stress, strain, irritability or volatility is to be expected. Too, it can be near impossible to get away from the crowds or added expense. Stay flexible, allow yourself plenty of extra time, and know it can be hard to stick to a diet, health regime, plan, or budget.
On the happy note, the eclipse can dish up a special event, added excitement, or something special to celebrate. It doesn’t have to happen exactly on April 4. April 2, 6, and 9 dish up better than average stars; you’ll get more out of your actions and interactions on these dates.
Have you been waiting for Jupiter in Leo to deliver? The deliver truck leaves the station as of April 8, when Jupiter in Leo ends the retrograde cycle it began in December. Through the middle of August Jupiter will launch it, grow it, and bestow it. You’ll find yourself and your potentials growing by leaps and bounds. For the rest of its tour through your sign, Jupiter draws added energy and inspiration from its trine with Uranus. The combination is an awakening, liberating and/or freeing influence. Your newly found independence should feel exhilarating. If it doesn’t, you’ll have some critical inward looking and personal reinvention to do. Jupiter/Uranus keeps opportunity, life, creativity, and consciousness vibrantly alive. At the very least, you can’t complain of boredom!
VIRGO (Aug. 23-Sept. 22)
It’s time to get it moving in a new direction. Whether it sneaks up on you or whether you are pushing for it, the lunar eclipse on April 4 brings a relationship or financial matter to a head. Perhaps there’s something you have to reconcile with inside yourself. Are boundaries in the appropriate place? Have you been putting up with too much? The lunar eclipse can bring you to a definitive line in the sand regarding issues of self honouring, cooperation, principles, fairness, and equality.
On the other hand, the lunar eclipse could fire up something positive, perhaps a new passion or love interest. Of course, things can get complicated if you are already involved elsewhere. If you have already been on the outs or have hit the flat-line, the eclipse could serve to push the refresh button and get you plugged back in – only better this time.
The effects of Jupiter direct on April 8 can be subtle or strong. Either way, it’ll work to increase your confidence, hopefulness, creativity, earnings, and romantic potentials. You’ll get around more, find more things to talk about, and spot more viable options as of April 10 when Venus treks into Gemini. It’s a good time to scout for a better job or more clients. Through May 7, Venus in Gemini improves communication tracks, stimulates interests, and social activity.
By April 21 when Mars trines Pluto you should feel like you are getting nicely situated.
LIBRA (SEPT 22-OCT 22)
You will feel the impact of the lunar eclipse more directly if your birthday happens on or near Oct 8 to 10 or if the eclipse makes contact to your personal planets. If not, you may simply be in for a more dynamic full moon and holiday weekend. Of course, if you are born around or before Oct 10, then you have also been taking a big hit from the ongoing Uranus/Pluto transit.
This eclipse is about your evaluation process and about observing yourself in action. Are you finding the right mix, the right balance? Is life too one-sided? How do you get the max out of your involvements and still keep yourself intact? You can’t sit on the fence with this one. This eclipse prompts you to show up for yourself in some new way. It can spur you to take an action you might not have contemplated before you hit it full throttle. To unleash yourself is good, to come unhinged is to loose effectiveness when it is most crucial, so don’t rob yourself. A new level of independence, freedom, and self expression can only do you good.
While eclipses have generally been viewed as negative influences, they also work as exceptionally positive catalysts and accelerators. The days leading up to the eclipse can be productive, corrective, and healing. Even if the April 4 eclipse opens up something jarring, there are good creative and solution-finding stars immediately following. It’s a suggestion that whatever occurs needs to happen, that’s its well timed in order to create the necessary progress. April 2 and April 6 are opportune dates to work with. The end of Jupiter retrograde on April 8 and Venus into Gemini on April11 also help you to make positive strides. Take advantage of the first two weeks of the month. As of April 14, the pace can slow down and/or require more investment or effort. Even so, the getting is good from April 21 onward.
SCORPIO (Oct 23~Nov 22)
April 2 can be an especially full to the brim day, but allow for extra time to navigate the crowded streets or stores, and you’ll take care of business just fine. An off-the-hook long weekend is ideally timed. Then again if duty calls, view it as a two birds, one stone benefit. The lunar eclipse rolls out from April Passover to April 6. Easter Sunday/Monday, the transiting Scorpio moon keeps you especially quick on the ball. Instincts, know how, ingenuity, and passion are in full play. These are optimal days for action. Wing it. Seize it when you see it.
Since December, Jupiter has been travelling retrograde. Perhaps it’s kept your attention focused on a specific project or circumstance. As of April 8, Jupiter will shift onto a next page and/or new target. Things can get off the ground immediately and well. Venus into Gemini, starting April 10, can increase financial prospects or pile on expense. Pluto retrograde, starting April 16 calls for you to refortify, recommit, or tighten it up. Taurus month can re-energize you socially or profits-wise.
SAGITTARIUS (Nov 22 ~ Dec 21)
Whether you observe Passover or Easter or neither, an eventful long weekend lies ahead. As always, your ideal is a mix of good quality people time, lover time, and personal time. The more spontaneous, the better. Uranus/Pluto combined with the eclipse is sure to make for a punched up, never-a-dull-moment, up-and-at ‘em few days. You could feel quite feisty or frisky – and likely both. The sun forms a trine to Jupiter, your ruler, on April 2 and Mercury does the same on April 6. On April 8, Jupiter in Leo resumes forward motion. Add all these influences together and the stage is set for something exceptional to get off the ground. You could launch into a great adventure, shatter a record, or make a major breakthrough, discovery, or leap. April 9 can give you a particularly great run of it, thanks to the transiting Sagittarius moon and the sun/Mercury conjunction. Right words, right time, right place; you can find yourself at your intellectual, creative, intuitive, and/or athletic best.
Venus in Gemini, starting April 11, can stimulate your social life and financial opportunities. You’ll get around more too. Mercury in Taurus, starting April 14 and Pluto retrograde, starting April 16 and Taurus month helps you to get more focused and more consistent regarding your work, health, or regimes.
CAPRICORN (Dec 22 ~ Jan 19)
The first two day days of the month keep you going strong and accomplishing very well. Duty may call this for this holiday long weekend, but it’s also important for you to clock good quality me-time too. Uranus/Pluto and the lunar eclipse can keep you walking a tight rope. The emotional barometer can rise over matters to do with cooperation, sharing, fair-play, equality, family politics, or money. Your inner rebel could get the better of you. Aim to let off steam with a healthy outlet. There are the ideals and then there’s the reality. Promises can fall short of the mark. While it’s great if everybody pitches in or does their share, you are likely to find yourself jumping in and/or taking over. Whether others want to admit it or not, things tend to run better when you take the lead.
Whether to do with your personal or professional life, the lunar eclipse can prompt the making or breaking of a contract. Either way, you stand to gain. April 2, 6 and 9 are great days to negotiate. You’ll gain good opportunity once Taurus month arrives too (most notably, April 21, 22.) While Capricorn folk are usually experts at the pay-up-front routine, don’t sacrifice more than you should. Put your own interests and needs first. In this regard, Pluto retrograde, starting April 16, will find you questioning why you act, react, or take-on what you do. Pluto retrograde aims to help you to break free of the conditioning patterns that keep you holding yourself back. Don’t worrying about who is judging you. This is not about being selfish; it is about having proper respect for yourself.
AQUARIUS (Jan 20 ~ Feb 18)
The start of April has you good to go. It’s a great time to explore, broaden, and/or reach out. The stars now facilitate a great personal discovery and reinvention track. April 2 to 6, you’ll find your observational skills are especially sharp. For yourself and regarding your interactions too, you are likely to cut to the chase even quicker than you usual do.
Do you have big plans for the holiday long weekend? It’s an ideal one for getting your social fill, for blowing off steam, and for doing your own thing. Even if you don’t observe Passover or Easter, there’s likely something special to do or attend. Although there can be added excitement in the air, know that the lunar eclipse also comes with a mix of tension and intensity. The immediacy of the moment can overtake plans, good intentions, or budgets. Stay alert for anything goes. People can need you or pull on you; you can be inconvenienced. It can be easy to go over the top. By the same token, try not to have overly high expectations where others are concerned. Live it in the now instead.
The eclipse could also spark an epiphany, a great creative spurt, or even a new love interest. Depending on how it hits your own chart, the eclipse has so much dynamic force it has the ability to catapult your future in some striking way. Considering that Uranus/Pluto have already been working on it, the eclipse could simply speed up the reinvention process.
An early start on April 6 is to your advantage. That’s when Mercury/Jupiter and sun/Uranus are at peak. On April 8, Jupiter in Leo will resume forward motion. This will translate into better connectivity and more social opportunity through August. Plans, relationships, sales, legal or contract matters, and education tracks will now see a better move along, especially past April 14. Whether you reach the goalpost or call it quits, this date or the days near it can also bring matters to a completion.
PISCES (Feb 19 ~ March 20)
Thanks to the sun’s trine with Jupiter, work and health related matters should roll along just peachy at month’s start. The hard stuff comes easy; you can get more than the usual said and done April 1, 2.
The lunar eclipse weekend can put you at odds with yourself, another, or your bank account. It may come down to fending for yourself rather than expecting others to come across with the goods. Too, if you have wants or needs, it’s up to you to be the instigator. With the eclipse opposing Uranus in Aries, you can be overly quick to react or jump to conclusions. Try not to lash out. Then again, everything happens for a reason. Diplomacy is always a better way to go, but if you can’t hold yourself back, perhaps it was something that needed to be said. There’s good air clearing just after the eclipse.
On another note, the eclipse could make you frisky rather than combative. Tap your enthusiasm, your creativity, and take them by surprise.
April 5, 6, your intuition/radar, emotional responsiveness, and ability to sway is especially strong. These are great days to immerse yourself right where you are.
The end of Jupiter retrograde on April 8 can improve work prospects or your ability to work it out. Through the middle of August, Jupiter in Leo helps you to make improvement where it’ll do you the most good. It’s a great influence for upgrading your diet and health regimes, and for honing or maximizing on your expertise, craft, or special skill.
Pluto’s turn to retrograde on April 16 can produce a shift of priorities or goals. By April 21 onward, you should feel like you are gaining a good handle on it all.
