Forecast intro:
Wondering why this last full moon (Mar 29) was so urgent, alerting, or defining? Both Venus and Mercury re-energized the solar eclipse from Jan 15. As written in earlier columns, that eclipse, which involved both Venus and Mercury, marks the ending a 19 year life cycle and in the process of formatting the new blueprint. What is extinguished, what lives on? This eclipse is one that resets the base-lines for each and every one. The thing to remember about new cycles and new energy patterns is that we can’t see much/can’t gain enough perspective until we get a little further ahead. Stop trying to figure the whole thing out. Immerse yourself in the here and now instead, and strive to make each moment count.
Now that Mars has resumed direction motion, we are in a short window of opportunity cycle. April 2 – 6 can things fall into place quite readily and well. (Negotiate/sign deals, gather together, mend broken fences, set plans into action.)
Take note, we are about to head into yet another Mercury backtrack cycle, (April 17 – May 11). The sooner you get your taxes filed or other financials handled the less potential for error, headache, or misgivings. Mercury travels retrograde in the sign of Taurus, so you may find that the ground beneath your feet is not firm enough or as ripe for planting as you need it to be. Positively, Mercury retrograde in Taurus can take you out of a stale-mate or long standing inertia. Among the many possibilities for this cycle, there may be more waiting, more patience, more grooming, or more investment needed. One way of another, net worth and self worth issues will be called to task. You may feel the need to take a relationship time-out or to cut back socially. Too, it may be time to cut back on expenses or to start saving for your next major purchase.
Positively, Mercury retrograde in Taurus can see you through a creative and productive think-tank cycle. It is a great cycle for getting back in touch with what is truly important for you. If you need a nudge in this regard, trust the stars to confront you with the necessary accounting. The strong will survive, but if there is not enough value or growth potential, Mercury retrograde is all set for weeding the garden. Noting that Taurus is a sign that correlates to sexuality, we can expect Mercury retrograde will deliver more sex scandal coverage. The pedophilia scandal that is rocking the Catholic Church isn’t likely to go away fast. The Pope’s chart will continue to be greatly challenged through the summer months. (Note: Mercury correlates to youth, Taurus in retrograde can correlate to the hearing impaired or to selective hearing. The crimes involved deaf youth. How tragically literal.)
As stated above, April 4 can be the start of a turning point for relationship or financial matters. Once Pluto turns retrograde on April 6 and April 7 Saturn (already retrograde) backtracks into Virgo, you may be able to uncover or resource more, which should also lead to pinpointing the issues, conflicts or solutions with greater clarity and effectiveness. Saturn travels in retrograde motion until the end of May, but will continue in Virgo to July 21.
The fresh spark Aries new moon April 14 again ignites the Jan 14 eclipse and as such this new cycle brings a sense of destiny’s pull on the strings. April 22 – 26 can be especially busy, challenging, solution finding or powerfully transformative. The fourth of five, April 26 delivers another Saturn/Uranus opposition peak. This 2 ½ year cycle (of the past and future colliding, of accelerated restructuring of our collective reality base), began with the first of five peaks on Nov 4, 2008, Obama’s election. (Check back in previous forecast intros for a review.)
The powerful Scorpio full moon April 28 involves Mercury retrograde, suggesting a key person could figure prominently. This full moon could bring a significant, perhaps even life-altering event, an important communiqué or piece of news, or an abrupt shift of attention/priorities. Of course taxes will be on everyone’s mind. Self-sabotaging is possible too. Please be on guard for those who may be special need due to an emotional, financial, physical, or addiction crisis. The Scorpio/Taurus axis is one of life and death matters, and of karmic replay, (debts, vendettas, and suicide too.) Please don’t take unnecessary chances, and if you need help yourself, reach out.

ARIES (March 21- April 19)
Your productivity and self-sufficiency appears to be in good shape through April 7. Saturn’s departure from Libra and return to Virgo can take you out of a relationship or financial impasse, help you to find your missing keys and make better inroads where you need it the most. Direct this month’s priority attention to cleaning up and clearing away as best you can. Saturn’s temporary backtrack in Virgo (to end of May) brings you through a revision, editing, or clean-up cycle. Address health and daily regimes, do your homework, find a way to work smarter, not harder. Research the market, or scout for better work projects or prospects. Mercury’s retrograde tour puts a concentrated focus on finances, the sustainability or enmeshments of your present circumstances (or predicaments), and tests your ability to keep going despite outside pressures or distractions. April 26 through May 6 can put you through the paces or help you to move forward in some significant way. As stated above, the catalytic, dramatic, compelling, and potentially empowering full moon April 28 can see a significant turnaround, (hopefully it is for the better!)
TAURUS (April 20 -May 20)
Just past April 1st, you should find that Venus in Taurus brings you favored attention and pleasing opportunity, while Mercury’s entrance into Taurus can create more mobility (physically, socially, and circumstantially too.) Pressure ceilings can lift around April 6, 7. Saturn’s return to Virgo can create improvement where you’d like to see it the most (work, love life, health.) You will have until July 21 to harness the best of Saturn’s constructive fixer-upper influence. Get serious and aim to create as much solid ground as you can, especially re love life, relationship with your kids, career ambitions, and your financial get-ahead plans. Mercury retrograde in Taurus can see you backtrack to some extent, but hopefully the cycle helps you to repeat a previous success or to re-establish valuable lost ground. Mercury retrograde can produce a creative well spring cycle or help you to embark upon productive soul searching. The cycle can also challenge health-wise, so make sure you keep body and soul running as best you can. The full moon April 28 could deliver a significant message, visitor, news, or contract.
GEMINI (May 21-June 21)
Saturn’s return to ambitious Virgo draws attention to the fact that you want more for yourself and from yourself now. Priority attention can also be focused on home, family, (i.e.: the requirements of aging parents, ill or needy children) and family-related necessities. Now to the end of May is a time to sink your all into finishing off projects, agendas, or relationships. Mercury’s retrograde tour can see you through an incubating or gestational chapter, or it can deliver a critical healing and repairing stage. You may feel less of an urge to show-up out there (socially) and find that you become more covetous of time to yourself. Submerge yourself in a creative project or studies; give yourself ample time to mend physically, to regroup emotionally or financially. If you are uncertain of the direction forward, let it grow on you. Things will shape up naturally if you allow them to do so. Juno’s advance into Gemini (April 18 – June 8) delivers fresh incentives and can help you to stay on track/to follow through for yourself better. This commitment influence is also suggestive of new contracts in the works (actual or karmic). The no-stone-left-unturned Saturn/Uranus opposition cycle continues to be particularly activating and advancing in terms of major life changes. For some, the time draws near to say final good-byes to aging parents or other family members nearing transition.
CANCER (June 22-July 22)
Aries month delivers the right time to streamline efforts, to unshackle from the burdensome and to take a stab toward new initiatives. It can also be the time to fight for position or rights, to take an official stand, or to initiate legal action if it’s called for. Take action in this first week or so and you’ll open lucrative doors/see positive net gain, especially April 4 – 6. The new moon April 14 can set a significant stage. You’ll know more once Mercury turns retrograde (April 17 – May 11). You may find that friends or associates are not as reliable as you need or want them to be. A departure of significance or change happening elsewhere can produce a fall-out effect or opportunity for you. You may also feel it’s time to withdraw your support or participation from a particular individual, group or situation. Then again, Mercury retrograde can prompt you to increase fund-raising, marketing, and scouting efforts. Remember that the working-it-through retrograde cycle is best for research, revisiting, and revising. It can take time to see visible results, rewards, or to find your answers or solutions. April 21 through the full moon April 28 can busy you with backtracks, redirection, replay, re-visitation and/or a significant threshold crossing. On the plus side, there is a good potential for you repeat a past success. On the minus side, you could find yourself pulled into one more go-‘round.
LEO (July 23-Aug. 22)
The advance of Venus and Mercury into Taurus can find you settling into a nice groove just past month’s start. Stay ambitious while productive stars are on your side, but avoid overburdening yourself where possible. Mercury retrograde (April 18 – May 11) may slow or derail your full steam ahead. Then again, as the cycle advances you may feel in the mood to switch gears. In fact, there may be opportunity to back out of a commitment, to ditch the extras, or to unload burdensome responsibilities. A budding prospect may be superseded by something more tantalizing or something more pressing. Temporary involvements or sidetracks are common during Mercury retrograde. Explore, but let the test of time reveal viability/worthiness. Issues to do with legitimizing your needs, prioritizing your wants, claiming authority, or dealing with authorities can arise too. April 18 – May 11, you may find you don’t have enough control, clout, or effectiveness. Things you assumed were nailed down could come unhinged. April 22 – 25 can provide a time of productive talks, or opportunity to correct, repair, revise, or stop. April 24 can bring a notable event or exchange with someone important. Saturn/Uranus’s threshold crossing on April 26 can bring a revelation, or surpassing of significance. This planetary aspect can set the stage for the dynamic full moon on April 28. A turn of events could work in your favour.
VIRGO (Aug. 23-Sept. 22)
Aries month can find you singularly focused on an objective, a relationship, or financial matter. This first week could see things shape up quite well, your confidence included. Saturn’s return to Virgo, in retrograde April 7 through May 30, and direct through July 20, helps you to go back and fill in a missing piece, or to resume unfinished business. This planetary influence is set to help you to better your best, so if you have faltered with diet, health regimes, studies, or other good for you ambitions, give it another try. Mercury retrograde can also provide you with an extra dose of stamina. Of course, the contrary is true too, trickster Mercury can also challenge or plague you with the unforeseen. For example, you may think that you are maintaining an on-track focus, only to find that tunnel-vision has prevented you from seeing key essentials. Positively, once you see the error of your way, you are on the road to recovery and repair work. Mercury retrograde is an appropriate time to revamp plans, goals, or marketing strategies, to rehash back in court, or to revisit someplace or reconnect with someone. Someone foreign or long distance could claim your temporary attention too. The sun’s entrance into Taurus April 19 – through May can provide added opportunity to travel, study, socialize, branch out into new markets, or to spread your wings for new career opportunities. Your days are likely to get busier near the end of the month. Whether it is planned or a matter of things coming to a head, the opposition of Saturn/Uranus on April 26 can put you on the move. Watch for something unexpected re finances, legal or relationship matters. The full moon in Scorpio on April 28 could deliver a special opportunity, event, news, important talks or transactions, or feature someone special/important to you. There may be a duplicate, repeat or renewal component, more than one element or consideration, or a second interview, shot, or a second chance. A second opinion could be wise too.
LIBRA (Sept. 23-Oct. 22)
The Sun in Aries helps you to see yourself in a new light and to define your relationship needs in more brass tacks format. Independence and individuality is the name of your new game, both in your personal and professional worlds. For some, a newly single status can be wonderful. For others, a newly committed relationship can take center stage. Just past the first of the month, Venus and Mercury benefit you with stability, security, and self-assurance. Financial matters can be on a good roll too. Still, take nothing for granted. Once Mercury turns retrograde in Taurus, you could find you are not as steady, secure, or as set. Conversely, you could find you are not stuck either. Look around and you will see that there are more avenues available to you. Consider Mercury retrograde as a working-it-through cycle, don’t jump to conclusions, and take it all in stride, one step at a time. Saturn’s dip out of Libra and into Virgo (April 6 through July 21) can help you to refortify behind the scenes. If you have a project in the works, give it your priority attention. Saturn in Virgo takes you through an incubation or transitional time; Uranus in Pisces can revamp/reinvent the nature of your work or studies, or introduce you to beneficial new health regimes or alternative remedies. The Saturn/Uranus threshold is one you have been working to cross since 2008. You are almost there/almost into your new life. The full moon April 28 could bring an empowering opportunity or see you take an important step forward. Finances and intimate relationships are featured. Surgery or a change of direction at work could spell major improvement.
SCORPIO (Oct. 23-Nov. 21)
Month’s start finds you particularly driven to get a better handle on your daily get-go, or to stay on top of health and other good-for-you routines. Accord and rapport is in good shape April 2 – 6; these are fall-into-place dates, (professional, social, romantic, or financial.) The sun in Aries (to April 18) can find you completely consumed with a new job, process, or study. You could be quite ambitious to get somewhere with a relationship or legal matter too. It is appropriate to push as hard as you can now, but there is wisdom in easing-up on the throttle once Mercury turns retrograde. Bide your time, let them come to you instead. Saturn’s return to Virgo can busy you with unfinished family matters or lingering home projects. You could be busy with teaching, conferences, public speaking, group activities, too. Your social life could be a good place to groom business; the two go hand-in-hand. The Saturn/Uranus opposition April 26 could bring a cut-off point or deadline of significance, bring you a new professional, parenting, or personal status, or see a significant relationship breakthrough (social, romantic, professional/political.) You may be able to branch out or franchise yourself/your products in some opportune way. The Saturn/Uranus opposition is sure to keep the busyness and intensity at a peak through to the eventful full moon in Scorpio on April 28. This full moon can deliver an important announcement or news, be a time of a major purchase or undertaking. Too, it can bring important contracts, financial matters or partnership matters to culmination.
SAGITTARIUS (Nov. 22-Dec. 21)
Jupiter and Uranus continuing in Pisces for another 2 months can find you internalizing and noticing more than you let on. How you live within your self may be vastly different than how you engage outwardly. The sun in Aries can bring you a fresh boost of creativity and vitality. Past the start of the month, Venus and Mercury in Taurus, along with Saturn’s return to Virgo, an earth sign, can help you to give form/tangibility to your creative inspirations. These influences are also stabilizing ones, especially re work, health, and financial matters. Saturn’s return to Virgo can send you back to the negotiations table or busy you in complex problem solving. The next two months could put you under added professional, parenting, or physical strain. You may have to pick up the extra slack when others can’t. Or, you could find yourself on a temporary work shortage. Labor strikes, systems and equipment breakdowns are typical of Mercury retrograde. Too, you may find that you are not as well prepared or as far along as you had hoped. Still, once you uncover the flaws or shortfalls, you are on your way to getting it solved, which of course is a good thing. Make sure to get professional help when you need it, and don’t ignore inklings or your body’s warning signals. Mercury retrograde backtracks in your work and health sector. Both Mercury retrograde and Saturn retrograde in Virgo could draw added attention to time running out. April 22 – 25 can be a productive few days of corrections, solutions, catch-up, negotiations, accounting, or wrap-up. The full moon April 28 may clue you in to more than you suspected, or knew was available. It can be a time of an important transition, a block removed, or a creative or situational breakthrough. Someone instrumental/catalytic could make a timely appearance.
CAPRICORN (Dec. 22-Jan. 19)
As usual, ambition looks good on you. Mercury in Taurus suggests your ideas and expectations are sound and well met. Venus in Taurus should make you feel good about yourself. Both put you into a successful attraction cycle, especially so in this first week of the month. Saturn’s backtrack into organizational Virgo puts added emphasis on cleaning, clearing, and finishing-off work for the next two months. Pluto’s retrograde cycle puts the focus on specific agendas, goals, or relationships that figure into your long-range plans. Mercury retrograde can put you back in touch with people, perhaps special or instrumental ones. The cycle can prompt you to back out of your social life, perhaps to prioritize more quality time with your lover. Or perhaps you’ll put yourself on a time-out in order to address other personal priorities. Business expenses/investments can add up quick. April 22 – 26 can be a time of saving graces, of things turning out well, or for the best. Of course the usual Mercury retrograde annoyances are to be expected, but overall, you should find that you can hold your own, hold steady, or hunker down just fine. The Saturn/Uranus opposition April 26 and eventful full moon in Scorpio April 28 could bring something out of the blue or outside the usual. Re-connections, exchanges, or negotiations with significant, important or influential people are possible. A parent, child, or lover could hit a personal high-point or be in need. Watch for a key announcement, piece of news, opportunity, presentation, or special event to blow you away.
AQUARIUS (Jan. 20-Feb. 18)
While the sun tours Aries and Mars continues in Leo, you should find that when something fires up for you, it does so with tremendous spark. Use your people connections, flirt, and vie for special attention. If it’s working for you, do more of it, especially in this first week. Mercury and Venus in Taurus loan you added stamina, grounded-ness and background support, especially April 4 to 6. By April 7 you can feel a momentum switch. Mercury’s retrograde tour can see you retrace ground you have already covered, especially with family or home related matters. You might have to shell out more, perhaps unexpectedly. Home repairs or renovations, family or home based business expenses can pile up. It is no surprise that mortgage rates are already on the rise. Never say never, Mercury retrograde can see you backtrack on something or someone that you had previously felt so confirmed about. The advances of Juno (April 18 –June 8) and Venus (April 24 – May 19) into Gemini can create more mobility in your social and love life. Saturn’s backtrack into Virgo can see you work even harder to get your business or professional life onto a more successful track. You can find yourself working harder to straighten out your kids or your relationship with them. The Saturn/Uranus opposition on April 26 and the Scorpio full moon April 28 can bring the eventful, perhaps even the dramatic, to pass. There could be a family milestone or news, a reunion to plan/host, or a change of residence (planned or unplanned) in the works. This full moon could bring unexpected but necessary travel, a significant study, publishing, media or marketing opportunity, the chance to fill a vacancy, or see you singled-out in some special way.
PISCES (Feb. 19-March 20)
Jupiter and Uranus will continue in your sign until the end May/beginning of June, but you will also benefit from this mega-watt duo in the fall. In fact, they may work even more powerfully for you then, especially when both Venus and Mars are in empowering Scorpio (a complimentary water sign.) Of course, we all have to contend with Mercury’s trickster cycle, April 18 to May 11. To begin, the cycle may not be too noticeable; you’ll reconnect with friends and perhaps spend more time with siblings or extended family too. On a positive note, Mercury retrograde can unblock you creatively, and socially. Then again, you may choose to pull the plug on your social life, or on people in particular who drain your time, energy or resources. It is an appropriate time to submerge you in research, planning, writing, studies, proposals, or other paperwork. Mercury retrograde in slow Taurus could find you waiting on people or waiting for answers. Make sure to double-check that you have answered all the questions or provided all the necessary documentation, etc, or you could find that incomplete applications or paperwork show up in your mailbox. Last minute sidetracks can be time consuming or annoying. Plans may need to be changed, so buy cancellation insurance, or try to leave as much as you can open-ended until the retrograde period is complete. If you wait long enough, the flaws will reveal themselves, or people will trip themselves up. Saturn’s return to Virgo can make you feel let down by some, but on the other hand, you could feel well supported by others. If a relationship is on its last legs, the Saturn/Uranus opposition could bring it to a swifter departure gate. The Scorpio full moon April 28 could bring an exceptional opportunity, event, communique, or news. It’s big, whatever it is. A key and influential person could make a dramatic entrance or exit, or they could make it all come together for you.
