I wish you an abundance of energy, inspiration, bravery, and self-honouring in the coming New Year…Brightest of blessings to all – Rose
Consider the event-generating new moon solar eclipse (in Capricorn) on Jan 4 as the true start of the New Year. Some will call the moment a time of ripening. Some will say the past due is finally crossing the finish line. Accompanied by the last of the Jupiter/Uranus conjunctions, you can expect the importance of here, now, and tomorrow to enlarge and accelerate – perhaps greatly so. This eclipse is a particularly strong influence on Canada’s chart, as are the eclipses that will occur later in the year, (June 1, 15, Canada’s birthday July 1, Nov 24, Dec 10.) In addition to the major shuffling re BC politic which is currently well underway, a federal election looks quite probable for spring/early summer 2011.
Eclipses are flint for the unexpected. Watch for a significant re-structuring of reality to occur in the immediacy of present, and/or to extend at an intensified pitch over the next three to six months. Note that eclipses are most effective if/when they directly influence your chart. Anyone celebrating a birthday on an eclipse is sure to face an outstanding year with more than the usual change going on.
The past couple of extremely eventful years have put us through the paces at a much faster gait. Expect the acceleration to not only continue, but to intensify. Through 2016, watch for a dramatic temperature rise, (figurative and literal), and expect more razors’ edge living too. The hinging moment can be critical and confronting, but know also that it could not be more opportune. It is time for each of us to raise the bar higher, for our selves and for each other. To deny or resist what is coming down the track will prove to be wasted energy – and an impossible (and irrational) stance at best. What are the options? You can take action as you see is warranted, or you can wait for destiny to swoop-in and set your new dial. Ideally, to synchronize with the building momentum is your best bet. Let intuition and instincts be your guide, but make sure to move aside fear-based responses, which can too easily prove to be the wrong lead.
World economics will continue as an uncertain landscape, but the general outlook for the year ahead looks somewhat brighter and suggests productive moving forward, at least in some areas. At the end of February, Jupiter’s square to Pluto can see a significant/productive corner turned, and at the same time, it infuses the new momentum with added fuel. Watch for the most viable or hot-to-trot race horse to single itself out and capture the front lead, this re the political scene, and extending to all departments of life. By March, Jupiter will surpass Saturn (by opposition). This aspect peak is the midway point for the twenty year (ten up/ten down) economic cycle and is usually a time when we see market corrections. For private life agendas, this critical turning-point aspect is one that will select and sharpen the viewfinder’s focus onto a more specific target – the emerging future. Still, with unpredictable Uranus progressively gaining on Pluto in Capricorn, (by square, an aspect that will intensify in increments from now to 2016) there are no guarantees that the old standards, formulas, and equations are applicable to today’s reconciling. Economic markets are subjected to many cross-currents. Extreme weather patterns can take their toll on us too.
While we are living through challenging, even precarious times, we have already circumvented much in terms of what could have been. (Wall Street & the Auto giants near collapse as a case in point.) The building razor’s edge Uranus square Pluto aspect (now to 2016) will continue to sharpen our attention. Uranus square Pluto years will deliver a radical departure from our past ways of building, creating, and relating. While it is indeed a confronting and formidable planetary aspect to reconcile with, it is my hope that it will make us much faster learners too.
June through the end of the year, Jupiter in trine to Pluto (holding through March of 2012) suggests the potential to stand on a steadier platform. Positively, Jupiter in Taurus trine Pluto in Capricorn can translate into a productive and substantial growth cycle. The aspect is one of benefit, resourcefulness, lucrative results, fertile conditions, and prosperity, but it can also suggest heavier burdens, more debt, and a larger sink hole for those who are already entrenched. Some will profit, some will dig themselves deeper. Both the high and low roads will be well travelled.
There are several planetary sign advances to note in the coming year. Jupiter, (changes signs yearly) will race through the fire sign of Aries, Jan 22 to June 4, to situate in earthy Taurus from June 2011 to June 2012. Uranus, a seven year transit, will advance into Aries Mar 11, 2011 (to 2019). Both of these activating agents provide exceptional fuel. If you feel direction-less or at a loss right now, know a new fire will soon be lit. Completing their triple “shake, rattle, and role” conjunction cycle a few hours after the year’s first solar eclipse, this planetary pairing is likely to thrust a sudden switch; they can deliver a warp-speed leap, right into the thick of next. (Jupiter and Uranus were major catalysts for us in 2010, especially so from spring until early fall when both were temporarily activated in the sign of Aries.) Jupiter the growth expansion planet, and Uranus, the revolutionizing planet, favour the breaking-of-the-mould and the braving of new initiatives, especially late Jan through mid March, and again late April through mid May.
As already mentioned, the Jan 4 eclipse is particularly noteworthy due to the fact that Jupiter and Uranus reach their final conjunction aspect before the pair speed on. Transiting Venus in Scorpio is also activated on this eclipse (she surpasses a square to Neptune and Chiron before forming a trine (facilitating) aspect to Jupiter and Uranus. Ceres (what we groom; how we respond to the process of transformation) advances into Aquarius on Jan 3. These additional supporting transits suggest a lot can happen, seemingly in the blink of an eye.
February 8, Chiron will advance into Pisces, to remain until 2019. A brief introduction occurred last year, marked by the Deep Water Horizon oil rig disaster which began on the first day that Chiron entered Pisces, April 20. (Chiron backed out of Pisces and into Aquarius on July 20. By August, the world’s attention shifted to the trapped Chilean miners.) Chiron’s influence is one that sets in motion the extraordinary experience. The spectrum runs the gamut, from the wounding, tragic, and bittersweet, to the uplifting and to extraordinary opportunity also.
Temporary exposure to Neptune in Pisces, its domicile, occurs April 4 to Aug 5. From August until Feb 3, 2012, Neptune will backtrack into Aquarius. Neptune takes 168 years to make it around the zodiac. Its transit through a sign is a once in a lifetime occurrence. Neptune in Pisces will remind us that at a core, we are all the same. We all have the same wants, needs, desires, dreams, and aspirations; to live a life of joy, love, and abundance; one that is free from pain, punishment, and suffering. Neptune in Pisces can be likened to a collective tuning fork; it brings mass attention, consciousness, and desire to a peak.
Noting that Neptune and Chiron have been in close communication with one another for the past couple of years, the more subtle nuances of their planetary advances may be somewhat difficult to define clearly, (can’t see the shoreline when you are swimming in the middle of the ocean), but suffice to say they speak of collective loss, illusion, and delusion, as well as inspirational and iconic moments. They speak of a pinnacle moment in the larger schematic, of the collective contributions that steer our evolutionary journey and also to the quest for our collective redemption.
On the personal note, Chiron & Neptune in Pisces animates our soul’s ultimate yearnings (for transcendance.) On the collective note it raises the consciousness of our humanity and places the call to collective service on behalf of the whole. While Neptune and Chiron tenant Pisces, we will come to recognize more fully that there is no real degree of separation in all of the created universe. The years when Chiron and Neptune tenant Pisces are ones where we will experience the consequences of that which has accumulated, not only over the recent excessive years, but over this past Age too. On the planetary scale, we will learn to show more reverence for the air we breathe, the water we drink, the food we eat, and the fuel we consume.
This year we have 6 eclipses (4 solar, 2 lunar), more commonly we have 4 eclipses in total (2 solar, 2 lunar). Jan 4’s solar eclipse is the last of an eighteen-month cycle across the cardinal (activating) Cancer/Capricorn axis. The next eclipse on June 15, launches the new chapter across the mutable (integrating, migrating, blending) Gemini/Sagittarius axis. When this sign polarity is emphasized, we find ourselves on an accelerated growth and expansion curve. We examine the conceptual, philosophical, social, educational and cultural standards/realms, juxtaposed with what is intrinsic and natural. Opinions, ideologies, religion and spirituality draw more attention. Gaia speaks with more force. More people migrate, more information travels. In fact, more of everything occurs (fanaticism and racism too.) Relationships with siblings, friends, or neighbours can also feature more prominently during this eighteen month cycle.
The trio of late spring/summer eclipses are sure to produce another eventful few weeks: June 1 (solar), June 15 (lunar), and July 1 (solar). The fact that Canada’s birthday coincides with the July 1 solar eclipse marks the season as a critically shaping moment for our country. In addition to various contacts made by the year’s eclipses on the USA chart (Jan 4is the strongest), Chiron’s ongoing influence on the progressed sun of the USA chart suggests another major year for policy-making and economics (perhaps a mixed bag – large initiatives taken and needed, major gains and advances made in some areas, lost ground in other areas, and some things that remain unresolved. The US dollar is likely to continue to fall.) Obama’s political party may have been weakened by the recent mid term elections there, but what comes to mind is “when the going gets tough, the tough get going”. In the end, the political chaffing may prove productive.
Overall, Jupiter’s advance into fertile Taurus, June 4 to June of 2012, can be an encouraging placement for financial growth, added stability, profitability and productivity in many areas. A rise of interest rates is possible too as the year advances.
For those that like to plan ahead, there are three Mercury retrograde (Murphy’s Law) cycles to note: Mar 30 – April 23 (Aries); Aug 2 – 26 (Virgo/Leo) and Nov 23 – Dec 13 (Sagittarius).
In summary, courage is the best bridge to the future, and the future is your best bet. In fact it is the only place to pin our hope, faith, money, and ambitions. My best advice: see it, call it, act on it. Get with the evolving program and contribute to it as quickly as you can. Be the change…

The revolutionizing impact of Uranus in Aries, a once in a lifetime occurrence, will be especially evident for those born Mar 21 -25. Jupiter, the big planet, will zip through Aries Jan 22 – June 4. (Jupiter’s transit through your sign occurs once every twelve years.) Both these “here and now” influences find you highly motivated and in fine fighting spirit. Reinvent yourself as the moment dictates. It is a time for risk-taking and for living-it-large. There is no need to force yourself into staying physical active, you are about to enter a busy phase.
Use Jupiter in Aries (Jan to May) to initiate, and watch for fruitful Jupiter in Taurus (June 4 through mid June 2012) to deliver the desired goods. Material, career, and relationship prospects are on an improvement curve. The year ahead can increase opportunity to travel, relocate, perform, educate or get educated, publish or broadcast, broaden markets, and gain public attention. Your status or status quo may need to be changed in some significant way. This animating eclipse can bring important matters to a completion; it can find you pushing harder for them too. It can put you under added pressure, or draw your attention to deadlines, circumstances or debts that are past due. This solar eclipse can pile on the pressure, but it is also one of exceptional opportunity (material, emotional), thanks to Venus facilitating the Jupiter/Uranus conjunction. The eclipse can bring a release or a major turnaround; it could catapult you past a chronic issue, or past someone or something that has blocked or inhibited you. (Jan 6, 7, 25, 26 are dates of completion, endings, pushing ahead, pressure, release, progress.) Over all, your month should be highly productive and generating. Aim for higher visibility, get out and scout, network, socialize, promote, meet and greet.
TAURUS (April 20 -May 20)
The choices you make in the first few months of 2011 are critically shaping to your long-range future. Your confidence appears to be well placed, but as you step forward you will need to sharpen your awareness too. When confronted by the moment, out-of-the-box thinking/choices will provide your best advantages. Rely on intuition as your first resort. If you can take directive when your inner voice speaks, you will find that you will automatically choose the best, most generating of options.
The time-is-ripe solar eclipse Jan 4 is wonderfully opportune for your sign, especially so if your birthday fall on May 2-4. A huge, perhaps unexpected lifestyle change can occur. Mid February and mid March take you over threshold-crossing peaks. Aim to cover new ground Jan through May and substantial benefit will follow. Jupiter in Taurus (June 4 through June 2012) can find you thriving emotionally, materially, and physically. (Note, it can also find you on a weight gain, so make sure to stay physically active.)
GEMINI (May 21-June 21)
2011 is an animating year; in fact, March through Aug of 2012 features your sign. Huge growth is on the agenda. Life can steer you onto a brand new course. In fact, the next 18 months will open you up to new dimensions of yourself, to your world and the people in it in some significantly new way. New relationship formulas (social, professional, personal) are developing for you now. Overall, you should find that progress feels natural, welcomed, and well-timed (and well deserved too!)
The last of the Jupiter/Uranus oppositions and the solar eclipse (Jan 4), can be particularly transforming for those born June 20, 21. A new job or career can be in the works for some. Health or legal matters can take a huge step forward too. Alternative or experimental healing methods could be beneficial, investigate everything that is presented to you or that peaks your interest. Educational or home renovation upgrades are worthy investments. Mars and the sun in Aquarius (Jan 15- Feb 22; Jan 20), and Venus in Sagittarius Jan 7 – Feb 3 set a vibrant stellar backdrop. Go, do, be, see, meet. There’s plenty to be gained.
Jupiter’s quick race through Aries (Jan 22 – June 4) offers the right time for fresh starts, and exploratory or introductory phases. Reach out, network, socialize, engage, experiment. If you have stayed ambitious, By June forward, you should see that you have laid a worthy foundation.
CANCER (June 22-July 22)
The “corner turned” Solar Eclipse on Jan 4 is particularly dynamic for those born July 3 – 5. With encouraging support from Venus, Jupiter and Uranus, this eclipse can be suggestive of opportunity and luck, perhaps beyond projections and expectations. You could find yourself unexpectedly liberated or set free. A financial or romantic windfall is possible. These stars can also suggest that things can’t be downplayed or covered up. The advances of both Jupiter (Jan 22 – June 4) and Uranus into Aries (starting Mar 11) signal major new initiatives re your professional, personal, parental, and material status, especially for those born June 22 – 25. New responsibilities, pressures, and challenges are to be expected in this major reformatting period, but even if you felt stripped bare or stripped down earlier in the year, Jupiter in Taurus (beginning in June) should provide you with ample to work with, to live for, and to aspire toward.
The solar eclipse puts the spotlight on important personal, professional or legal relationships, partnership matters, and contracts (the requirements, limitations, or liabilities of). It can bring a culmination point (ending or beginning.)
The high impact, emotional full moon Jan 19 occurs in the very last degree of Cancer, suggesting your attention is at a peak, and that you are primed and ready for something new to get underway. Your commitments or your past can be in conflict with your newly evolving needs. The full moon can put you under added pressure and animate you in some assertive way. Look to Ceres (Jan 3 – Mar 20), Mars in Aquarius (Jan 15 – Feb 22) and Sun in Aquarius (Jan 20 – Feb 18) to help you to reinvent yourself where it counts the most (financially, relationship wise; health matters can be advanced too.)
LEO (July 23-Aug. 22)
The solar eclipse Jan 4 puts the focus on work, health, appropriate boundaries, getting out from under that rock, and on improvement or upgrade programs and measures. It can find you particularly occupied or overwhelmed with consequences, catch up programs, and regaining control. It can also bring a time of re major adjustments, corrections, and relinquishing. Conversely, the solar eclipse suggests an ideal time to plan an escape. A vacation or time out could be healing. Overall, the eclipse is opportune; things could smooth-out better than expected. You should find that you can forge ahead more rapidly and/or see yourself move out of a rut, especially so once Mars (Jan 15- Feb 22) and the sun (Jan 20- Feb 18) advance into Aquarius. The eclipse can see family dynamics and financial matters can smooth out, perhaps surprisingly well. It is a time to look ahead and to make plans for the future. The eclipse could prompt a major move, investment or financial rearrangement, if not this month, then in the near future. (It’s also a good prompt for renovation projects, re your home, your intimate relationship or your psyche.)
You can look forward to the revitalizing advances of Jupiter (Jan 22- June 4) and Uranus into Aries (starting March 11) to light good fires in ways that you will both appreciate and gain the most (i.e. job, material or educational ambitions, relationship and health-wise.) Late January through most of February, mid March, and end of April to mid May are optimum for new (or renewed) initiatives – relocate, risk, expand, create, seek, publish, perform, broadcast, or romance-it to the hilt. June forward, will bring the time to settle into the groove and expand it from there. The three summer eclipses (June 1, July 15, July 1) should prove to be positive catalysts re contracts, publishing, relationships, marriage, new goal-setting or reaching, travel and educational ambitions. Mercury retrograde in Leo Aug 8 – 26 can put you on a temporary backtrack, but Mars in Leo (mid Sept to mid Nov) should find you making great strides again.
VIRGO (Aug. 23-Sept. 22)
Don’t angst, act instead. Ambition serves you best. Holding sway now and over the first 3 to 6 months of the year, the time-is-ripe Solar Eclipse Jan 4 can be empowering. Take control and get yourself back on track. (Yes you can – and better and faster than you anticipate.) This manifesting eclipse is one that can help you to gain the respect and acknowledgement you feel you deserve. The eclipse also suggests a ripe time for lovers to move it to the next step, (make the relationship more official, become parents, etc.) On the other hand, it may be time to redefine your personal boundaries, call the shots more, let your kids or fan club know who is boss and to end a relationship or circumstance that holds you back.
Do your best to clean up, clear out and free up as much as you can in these first few weeks. Once Mars (Jan 15 – Feb 22) and the Sun advance into Aquarius (Jan 20 – Feb 18) you will find your days get a lot busier. There can be new jobs, project, schedules, ambitions and challenges to contend with. Watch for the emotional full moon in Cancer Jan 19 to deliver an unexpected invitation, opportunity, or news.
Jan through June is highly opportune to launch professional ambitions, creative projects, marketing, etc. Jupiter’s advance into Taurus (June 4 through June 2012) is a solidifying, confirming, and securing influence, so you can expect to feel more sure-footed and bettered rewarded as this year advances to a close (especially November onward.)
LIBRA (Sept 22-Oct 22)
Coming to the end of the road, facing tough steps forward, and reconciling with what was, what is, and what must be, those born Oct 3 – 10 will feel the pressure of Saturn’s tour through Libra most strongly, but of course at some level, we all feel the pinch. When Saturn animates, it matures the moment. Simultaneous to this significant closure and completion cycle, a new foundation is laid. It must be said that Saturn’s influence can feel physical or emotionally depleting, so try to pace yourself with rest and sleep as best you can. Jan 4’s solar eclipse in Capricorn (Saturn’s sign) occurs in your home and family sector, and is especially influential for those born Oct 6, 7. This solar eclipse can reveal something important. No matter what it looks like in the moment, it could prove to be a time saver, or a saving grace. Both Jupiter (Jan 22) and Uranus in Aries (Mar 11) suggest it is a time to show a new and dynamic side of yourself to the world, and to roll the dice on (existing and new) relationships too. January to June delivers an introductory or exploratory phase. June forward is the time to invest, increase and reap, especially re family, real estate, and partnership.

Chiron’s advance into Pisces, beginning Feb 8 (through 2018) can provide exceptional potentials of a highly karmic nature, especially for those born Oct 23 – 29. Chiron can also bring increased popularity, acclaim and public attention your way; fame is on the docket for some. You certainly won’t run out of ideas, options or new things to try. Creativity and opportunity are likely to prove to be a wellspring in this coming year. Noting the influences of Uranus (starting Mar 11) and Jupiter in Aries (Jan 24 – June 4), new work, personal projects, technology, methods or schedules are likely to keep you especially busy. A new pet, health regime or study can keep you well occupied too, especially so while Jupiter tenants Aries. Your ability to relate, communicate, and negotiate is enhanced from June forward. Admiration and reputation can grow beautifully too.
SAGITTARIUS (Nov 22~Dec21)

Expect the unexpected – it could be big, even life-altering. One door closes, another, brighter, more desirable one opens; the solar eclipse advances you to an ending or culminating threshold of significance. You could feel unburdened or released. Then again, the eclipse could reveal a cold hard truth, and leave you feeling especially drained or depleted.
Liberating Uranus in Aries will be felt strongest by those born Nov 22 – 26, but all of you will feel boosted by Jupiter flight through passionate Aries (Jan 22 – June 4). Watch for your love life, career, and creativity to be set on fire. If it isn’t happening for you (and it likely is), it can be a happening time for your children instead. Health can take a major step forward too; then again, it could require more dedicated attention. Both Uranus and Jupiter are vibrant, unleashing, inspiring, exciting, opportune and reinventing. Nothing is small, you’ll live it large (perhaps on the cutting edge or razor’s edge too), especially January to June. Welcome your new lifestyle, it’s here to stay. You are just at the beginning of so much more to come. March through Aug of 2012 ushers you through a karmic peak and defines your future course.

The solar eclipse will be especially activating (unburdening, releasing, freeing) for those born Jan 3 -5. Blocks or walls can suddenly disintegrate. In their place, a new opportunity could suddenly appear. Your status or status quo could change suddenly; watch for a departure, arrival, meeting, opening, or invitation of significance. The eclipse could put you at a career peak or move you in an altogether new direction, professionally, materially, personally, health or relationship wise. It can be an opportune time to move, to sell, or buy real estate, to start a new family or launch a new business.
April appears to be an intense month when everything can happen at once. Note Mercury retrograde Mar 30 –April 23 can be especially demanding, trying, wearing – and perhaps expensive too. Try to pace yourself and to alleviate the pressure as best you can – and realize you can’t force, forge, or accomplish everything all at once. The pace should slow and pressure should subside to a large extent by mid May when Mars, Mercury, and Venus enter Taurus. You should find you have a better handle on things mid year forward. Lucrative, enhancing and pleasing Jupiter in Taurus, (June 4 through June 2012) can place you onto a more solid plateau. This influence is securing, and affirming re journeys of the heart and the wallet, and should make you feel glad for the steps and choices you have already undertaken.
AQUARIUS (Jan 20~Feb 18)

Jupiter in Aries (Jan 22- June 4) provides opportunity for travel, explorations and sales, for broadening your social sphere, educating yourself, and for putting yourself out there in some new way. New things to try, new places to be, new people to meet, Uranus in Aries (starting Mar 11) is especially energizing for those born Jan 20 – 24. You may feel like you are on a race for the first 5 months of the year. While Uranus in Aries will continue to keep things well fired up, Jupiter advance into Taurus (June 4 – June 2012) delivers a time to drop anchor and settle-in, to put maximum attention toward building a more secure and consistent foundation. Business and real estate investments can increase substantially. Make sure family get your best and gift yourself with quality time too.
Pisces (Feb 19~March 20)
Both Jupiter (Jan 22) and Uranus (Mar 11) will move out of your sign, but you will continue to grow and gain through their endowments. You’ll see that life’s opportunities open even wider for you. Ample resources, resourcefulness, and resilience are your wellspring. This first 5 months catapults you into a vibrant reinvention and rediscovery cycle. The stars offer a sharp departure from recent tough years and it is likely that you’ll relish their new program wholeheartedly. The full of potential Jupiter/Uranus conjunction and solar eclipse on Jan 4 is particularly freeing, opening, catapulting, energizing for those born Mar 16 -18. It can be a time of a dream realized, a stroke of exceptional luck, or a ship come in.
The first half of January can be a good time to take a well deserved vacation and getaway from it all. Or use it to set up your next bests. Placing emphasis on romance, children, your security needs, memories, the past, the emotional full moon Jan 19 can open things up in some poignant and heart rendering way. Too, you could drop your guard or change your mind.
Mars in Pisces Feb 22 –April 1 increases your motivation, energy, creativity and drive, but stay alert for Mercury’s retrograde cycle at the end of March. Jupiter in Taurus (June 4 through June 2012) can boost your creative output, as well as friendship, sibling or client bonds. It can solidify your place and reputation among your peers and in the market too. The rare transits of Chiron (Feb 8 to 2019; occurs every 50 years) and Neptune, your ruler, (June 3 to 2026; occurs every 164 years) advancing into the sign of Pisces positions you at a “coming into your own” threshold. Make no mistake about it; the evolving moment is a profound one, both for your personal growth in the here and now, for your long range future, and also re your soul’s bigger picture agenda.
